After over-doing it on Monday (at least with low carb foods! right? lol) and also taste-testing the Quest Protein Chips too, I decided it’s time to get back to “clean eating”.
What I really prefer, and what I personally do best on, is the Three Ingredients Rule – which I like to refer to as 3IMAX (3 Ingredients Max). I had GREAT results when I did that for 15 days straight. Much faster weight loss. You can see all 15 food diaries here.
I find “eating clean” to be the easiest way to break bad food habits, and the quickest way to get rid of cravings too. Eating super low carb / real food is a natural appetite suppressant and cravings cure – which is awesome!
Yesterday was a super busy day. My new housekeeper started (YAY!) so I had some “prep work” to do – you know, so she could find the floor and the surfaces, lol. I’ve been doing TONS of work around the house lately, mostly rearranging and replacing old stuff. Including my bed and my office chair (both videos).
Stay tuned too, because we’re going to do our “Organize Your Kitchen” day next week, and clean out our drawers & cabinets together!
Anyway, here are my meals & macros from yesterday. As you know, the challenge this week is for us to all share our net carb counts with each other. 🙂 So here’s mine:
Breakfast & Lunch
I started out planning to have pecans and colby jack cheese for breakfast, but my son came through so I talked him into grabbing low carb take-out for me. It’s from a local place that’s been there for ages, and it’s a great spot for “real food”.
I got 2 fried eggs, 4 slices of bacon, and 2 pieces of grilled tenderloin:
Delicious! 🙂 I had the eggs and 2 slices of bacon for lunch, and maybe half a piece of tenderloin – then I had the rest of the tenderloin and bacon for lunch a few hours later. There IS half a piece of tenderloin missing from my food diary. That’s because I shared with Slim, my great dane. 🙂
Low Carb Snack
I got hungry before dinner, while wrapping up my work for the afternoon, so I grabbed my pecans & cheese I had out earlier for breakfast:
I didn’t eat that much of it though. One slice of the cheese and 1/4 cup of pecans at most. I probably should have eaten more, but I was busy – and on a great roll! – and snacked a bit and kept rolling.
Low Carb Restaurant Dinner
By dinner I was really hungry – maybe too hungry – and also incredibly tired. It was a full day, without my usual nap even. 😛 Ricky came over and we went out to eat at one of our favorite little local spots called The Chef & His Crew.
I ordered the 12oz ribeye steak with steamed veggies – and avocado in place of the starchy side. It was a fabulous meal, as usual! Their avocado is always SO fresh…
My waitress actually called me “by name”. At the end of the meal, that is. It happened to be “free pie night” so she asked Ricky if he would like some. She turned to me and said “I know you’re Low Carb Traveler, or I would offer you some too.” 🙂 haha – apparently the whole crew follows us on Facebook. 🙂 🙂 Cool!
I didn’t finish my dinner. I brought more than half of it home in a to-go box, so I’m planning to have it tonight. I was just tired and didn’t have much of an appetite for some reason. But I had a great time out with Ricky – and I have a nice meal for tonight!
My day totaled 11 net carbs, 1284 calories, 63% fat / 34% protein:
I don’t feel like I ate enough. Meaning: I was hungry a few times. Not by much, but I was busy and such and just called it a night early. I’m off to finish off those leftovers, and see what else I can find in my refrigerator to fix for this week…
What about you? What were your macros for yesterday? 🙂
Best,
Lynn Terry,
