I just created a brand new Low Carb Blondies recipe using Good Dee’s amazing mix and could hardly wait to share this one with you. 🙂 It’s her BEST mix yet!!
Seriously, these are beautifully delicious…
And the way I made them (my recipe is below) they don’t even taste like a sugar free dessert! They have ZERO after taste or “cooling effect” at all.
Before I dive in (not to the brownies lol, too late for that!) I want to be totally upfront with you about a few things…
I received Good Dee’s Low Carb Blondie Mix free as part of my affiliate relationship with Keto Krate. The mix came in the June box.

I’m a huge fan of Good Dee’s Low Carb Baking Mixes and have used them to make Delicious Low Carb Brownies as well as a Low Carb Snickerdoodle Pie Crust.
Both were turned out FABULOUS so I was really anxious to try out her new Low Carb Blondies mix. 🙂 Imagine my delight to find it in this month’s Keto Krate box!
I decided to make fudge blondies instead of cake-like blondies. You have the option of using butter or coconut oil in the recipe – that plus 1 or 2 eggs is all it takes!
I decided to use butter this time around, and also added cream cheese & pecans to make it less sweet… and more like a meal. 🙂
I had a package of Good Dee’s Low Carb Brownie Mix on hand too, so I went ahead and made a batch of each while I had the oven hot.;)
These are not sickeningly sweet like most low carb dessert recipes or sugar free mixes. I can’t handle a strong artificial sweetener aftertaste. 😛 Blech!
These are not like that AT ALL. Especially when you add even more fun low carb ingredients. 🙂 They have a very natural flavor, and the texture is amazing!
The sweetener used is Erythritol – which is a sugar alcohol, not an artificial sweetener (yes, there’s a difference!). It also contains Stevia extract.
Erythritol is different from other sugar alcohols, by the way: “Due to its unique chemical structure, our bodies don’t break it down. It goes pretty much unchanged through our system, without causing any of the harmful metabolic effects of excess sugar… or the digestive issues associated with other sugar alcohols.” –source
Not only do these taste great and NOT upset my stomach… I also tend to lose weight every time I make a dessert with one of Dee’s delicious mixes!
My Special Recipe for Good Dee’s Low Carb Blondies
* 1 package of Good Dee’s Sugar Free Blondies Mix
* 2 Large Eggs
* 8 TBSP (1/2 cup) Real Butter
* 5 ounces Pecan Pieces
* 8 ounces (1 block) Philadelphia Cream Cheese
I used Kosher philly cream cheese, because it’s MUCH lower in carbs. But it’s really hard to find in stores except during Passover!
Follow the directions on the package, beating 1 or 2 eggs and melting the butter, then stir that together with the dry mix. Stir in the pecan pieces next.
Line an 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper for the best results.
Pour in the mixture. Warm up / melt the cream cheese a bit, and spread that over the top of the Blondies mixture – and bake according to the directions. 🙂 That’s it!
The parchment paper is genius…
No need for non stick sprays or greasing the pan.
Your brownies or blondies will come out flawless!
How did they taste?
Beautiful. Delicious. Perfect. Fudgy.
Basically… amazingly fabulous!
I cut mine into 9 large squares:
As you can see, the cream cheese cooked in and they still held together just fine.
The trick: make sure they are TOTALLY cooled off before you cut them! 😉
I had one for breakfast this morning with fresh strawberries. That plus the cream cheese & pecans made this a delicious and FILLING breakfast. 🙂
Using my recipe above, and my ingredients (including the lower carb kosher cream cheese), mine came out to only 2 net carbs each with perfect LCHF macros. 🙂
You’ll want to use the MyFitnessPal Recipe Calculator to log these, based on your own labels, and the amounts & ingredients you use.
I’m really impressed with this NEW Low Carb Blondies Mix!
I’ve discovered that I prefer to use real butter in these recipes instead of coconut oil. It makes the desserts taste richer, they’re less greasy, and while I loved my first batch of brownies made with coconut oil… I loved both the blondies and the brownies both even MORE made with real butter.
I mentioned that earlier right? That I made the low carb brownies TOO while I was baking? Actually I made a DOUBLE batch of those, which turned out THICK and rich!
I used peanut butter & walnuts in the brownies. 🙂
Mmmm! ♥

OOOH Woweeee, I can’t wait, these look so chewy and substantial.. I’ve got her chocolate brownie mix in the house so I’m gonna fix this up with that mix while I wait to get the Blondies. I am really needing something like this right now and for once, it’s not sweltering here in Upstate NY so I have the oven pre-heating right now π Thanks for this, and all your encouraging and honest posts. You are my down to earth real life LCHF partner in all this since I stumbled across you back in January 2016 and all I ever need to do to keep it real is your simple idea of what to put on my plate, so simple and all ingredients I choose myself plus the cool stuff that I CAN still choose to eat along the way.. I have a HARDEES now! HUGS, have a great day. Go take a hike!! With your adorable sidekick!!
Lynn Terry says
Hi Wendy π You are going to LOVE both the brownies and the blondies! The extra ingredients turn these mixes into… meals. lol – YUM!
I’m so glad you ended up here last year… and THANK YOU for your kind words. π I really appreciate your feedback!
Hugs back to you π ENJOY that Hardee’s! I love the Frisco Burger in a lettuce wrap. One of my favorites. And lol – my sidekick, he’s the one that did the baking here. But that’s our secret, okay? π We’re off for a fun hike somewhere tomorrow I think. Can’t wait! I’m itching to get outdoors… *cheers*

I wish I had read this before I made my blondies, mine were really sweet and kinda still wet tasting in the middle and I left in oven longer. Was not a fan but might try again. I think the nuts would have help cut the sweetness.
Lynn Terry says
The nuts definitely make a big difference, that and the cream cheese. And in the brownies – walnuts and peanut butter. π I don’t like things too sweet anymore since going sugar free, so I find adding things really helps. Plus it makes it into more of a MEAL than a dessert. π
Jean says
I agree. I made the Blondies from my Keto Krate and by themselves, tasted that little bit of Erythritol cool taste but I had a Mascarpone Cheese/Whipped Cream mixture with some diced strawberries and blueberries, when eaten with the Blondies was awesome! So ok by themselves but really much better when adding other flavors. I’d like to try your version with the pecans and the cream cheese, that sounds delish too.
Lynn Terry says
It really was delicious. π Your version sounds great too, Jean!
I do love making a MEAL out of these mixes and desserts. The brownies too, which was a double batch with SIX eggs and plenty of walnuts & peanut butter. π YUM.
Julie S. says
Just made these and wow! Really, really good. I did sweeten up my cream cheese a bit (couple tbsp xylitol) but I think I’ll skip next time. The pecans really make this I think. They would be good without the pecans, but they add texture and chew + flavor. I’m thinking I’ll have one with strawberries for breakfast tomorrow just like you, lol. Great recipe, great baking mix.
Lynn Terry says
I’m so glad you enjoyed it too, Julie! π Yes, the pecans REALLY add to the texture and flavor – and I agree no extra sweetener is needed. I actually used the cream cheese to make them LESS sweet. π Enjoy it with berries! It makes a GREAT breakfast. *cheers*
Rhonda Jackson says
You just MADE me order lol!
Lynn Terry says
You will REALLY enjoy these mixes, Rhonda! They are so consistent, and so simple, and so fun to get creative with! π I used her low carb Snickerdoodle Cookie Mix to make this pie crust for example: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/17189/low-carb-pie-crust/ YUM
Jan Mills says
Thank you, Terry, for all your tips! I have ordered these many times, and they are wonderful! It satisfies my sweet tooth without destroying my progress. Still have to work on “portion” control, but this helps!!!
Lynn Terry says
I’m so glad, Jan. π
I find it really hard to overeat the blondies myself though, because they’re so rich and so filling! I cut mine into 9 large squares at 2 net carbs each. If I eat two that’s a pretty big meal for me.;)
Candi says
Could you possibly make more than one batch out of these mixes? Or are they intended for just one?
Lynn Terry says
Hi Candi,
No, each mix makes one batch. I use an x8x baking dish, and cut mine into 9 very large squares (the way I make them). I keep them in the refrigerator, but you could also freeze them. With the nuts & cream cheese added, plus topping them with sliced strawberries, I make a meal out of one. π
Kim amick says
So glad I read this article and ordered a batch from her site! They are to die for I haven’t even added the cream cheese frosting yet! I added pecans as you did but not the cream cheese as of yet
Lynn Terry says
I’m so glad you enjoyed them, Kim. π Aren’t they the BEST?! I love ALL of her mixes. I used her Snickerdoodle Cookie Mix to make a delicious low carb pie crust too: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/17189/low-carb-pie-crust/
And I love her brownies with peanut butter and pecans or walnuts. Actually I liked them BEST with the walnuts: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/13196/low-carb-brownies/ π YUM!
Katie says
Oh yes, early on I started adding cream cheese and pecans to my brownies. I slightly melt and fully mix-in the cream cheese. Then I did the same when I tried the blondies. But I make mine in cupcake paper. And yes, I scrape the bottom to make sure I get every bite, lol. I also leave out a little bit of the cream cheese and mix it with a sugar free syrup, then as soon as they come out, I spread it on top. Instant frosting. I also like the cookies but they do have a “cooling” effect. Will play with them a bit to see what I can some up with. And btw – am making more brownies as I write this, lol. Even my hubby likes them.
Lynn Terry says
Delicious! Great ideas, Katie. π I use the cookie mix to make a pie crust: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/17189/low-carb-pie-crust/ THAT turns out fabulous!!
Erica says
I tried the brownie mix, and made it with your recommended tweaks, and while it wasn’t bad, I found that I miss the chewiness of a real brownie. These are soft and moist, but not at all chewy, and that’s the best part of a brownie to me. I realize “chewy” comes from gluten, but I wonder if adding some vanilla protein would help in creating a more chewy texture? Thoughts?
Lynn Terry says
Hi Erica π
I haven’t tried any modifications like that and I’m not real good with recipes – or in the kitchen at all, lol. It would be worth a try – except I’d be afraid to screw up a whole batch of brownie mix. π Have you tried that before with other recipes??
Claudia says
These are really great, BUT CHECK THE CARB COUNT AGAIN.My package says there are 12 carbs and 3 fiber grams per serving. So, 9 grams net carb per serving, based on 12 servings per pkg., excluding any addition of nuts or cream cheese. Did I miss something? Are you subtracting the sugar alcohol also?
