New Low Carb Desserts: Blueberry Muffins, Chocolate Walnut Cookies & Breakfast Cakes

Aaron and I have been having A LOT of fun baking low carb desserts lately, using Good Dee’s low carb baking mixes. πŸ™‚

Here are our three latest creations, two of them with brand NEW mixes she just came out with:

Low Carb Dessert Ideas

I should say, in all fairness πŸ™‚ lol, that Aaron does the baking. I take the pictures and enjoy the goods. πŸ˜‰ I am NOT big on cooking, but he does love to bake… and Deanna knows that. She also knows the Low Carb Blondies are his favorite, so she always adds some in for him when she sends me new mixes to review. πŸ˜‰

It’s a small percentage that doesn’t affect the price for you at all, so thank you for using my links when you order!:)

Good Dee’s Low Carb Baking Mixes are Foolproof! πŸ™‚

Aaron ENJOYS baking, and he loves the simplicity of Good Dee’s mixes – and how versatile they are for making up fun creative desserts.

I’ve baked with her mixes myself, and as someone who takes ONE look at a recipe and ditches it to go order take-out (lol), I can tell you that these mixes truly ARE foolproof.

They are very forgiving, and fun to work with!

You can see my original recipes here:

Low Carb Peanut Butter Brownies

Low Carb Cream Cheese Blondies

Low Carb Snickerdoodle Pie Crust (using her cookie mix!)

I cannot wait to try her brand new Low Carb Chocolate Cake Mix! She is sending me one to review, and there is also one in the October Keto Krate. I should get both this week, so I’ll be sure to come up with two fun new recipes for you.;)

New Low Carb Muffin Mix by Good Dee’s

We Made Low Carb Blueberry Muffins…

When I got Good Dee’s Muffin Mix to review, I knew right away I would be making low carb blueberry muffins. πŸ™‚

This new mix does NOT have erythritol and she suggests adding your own sweetener, and adding whatever you want to the mix – such as blueberries, chocolate chips, etc.

Low Carb Muffin Mix

We only added a bit of organic stevia and then 70 grams of diced blueberries when we tried the mix. We made 12 muffins as directed on the package.

They came out beautiful! πŸ™‚

Low Carb Blueberry Muffins

In hindsight, I personally would not add ANY sweetener to the recipe – and double the blueberries and also add chopped walnuts.

I think they would be great doubled up as six LARGE muffins too. πŸ™‚

They came out perfect though, and didn’t stick to the paper at all. πŸ™‚

New Low Carb Cookie Mix: Double Chocolate Walnut Cookies

These were my FAVORITE of ALL of her mixes so far! πŸ™‚ They came out more thick and moist like brownies than flat like cookies. And they were DELICIOUS.

Easy Low Carb Desserts

We made 12 cookies just like it said on the package but also added 6 ounces of walnut pieces, so maybe that’s why they came out so thick. πŸ™‚

Here’s a close-up. These were AMAZING…

Definitely my favorite mix so far!

New Version of my favorite Low Carb Blondies recipe…

My all time favorite Good Dee’s Mix has been the Blondies, and especially with my own Low Carb Pecan Blondies Recipe adding pecans & cream cheese.

This time, we decided to really mix it up… and add some super foods & power crunch to them. πŸ™‚

I recently ordered a bag of Chunky Musli which is meant to be a low carb breakfast cereal, but I use it to make healthy low carb trail mix for my hikes.:)

We added a full cup (4 servings) of the Swedish Chunky Musli to my original Blondies Recipe (linked above), which made them 3.5 net carbs per HUGE blondie square:

Aaron and I agreed these were our best blondies yet. The coconut and cinnamon in the musli mix was a PERFECT flavor combo in this recipe!

Here’s a close-up so you can see these blondies are more like a nice “breakfast cake” chock full of super foods. πŸ™‚

YUM! πŸ™‚ We enjoyed these for breakfast… and they went FAST, lol.

We had A LOT of fun getting creative with Good Dee’s new mixes, and our old favorite (the blondies!) too. I cannot wait to try out her new low carb chocolate cake mix. πŸ™‚

She makes the BEST low carb mixes on the market!

Best Low Carb Desserts - Keto and Diabetic Friendly with great LCHF macros

Next up on our list of fun low carb dessert recipes is a chocolate hazelnut cheesecake and a chocolate cream pie, both recipes I got in recent Keto Krate boxes.

I love that they include low carb recipes! The recipes use the low carb products that were also in those boxes, of course.

They’re shipping the next batch of the October Keto Krate boxes this week, and this month’s box DOES include Good Dee’s brand new Low Carb Chocolate Cake Mix. If you want to get an idea what to expect, you can see the last box here.

You can also order Good Dee’s mixes individually at the links above.

If you decide to order from Netrition, they have flat rate shipping no matter how much you order – or free shipping on orders over $99. Here are some of my Netrition favorites if you want to take advantage of the shipping deal.

I hope you enjoyed my “show & tell” of two of Deanna’s newest low carb baking mixes, and my new version of the blondies too. πŸ™‚

I look forward to trying the new cake mix, and also to making another batch of the muffins with walnuts & double blueberries…

I don’t like to cook, but her mixes are SO easy – and I’m starting to think she must put a secret magical ingredient in them, because they are hands-down the best low carb mixes on the market. πŸ˜‰

Have you tried any of the Good Dee’s mixes yet?

I would love to hear which of the mixes you’ve tried, and any creative twists you used with them. The more ideas the better! Speaking of… what do you think I should do with the chocolate cake? Let’s get creative with it!

Best,
Lynn Terry,
aka @LowCarbTraveler

p.s. Good Dee’s mixes do NOT spike my blood sugar or stall my weight loss. In fact, I usually lose weight the weeks I make her low carb desserts. πŸ™‚ WIN!

Now I can’t wait to get this month’s Keto Crate and try out that chocolate cake mix! I got the nougat creme in the September box (my first one) and I’ve been in bliss ever since. (Goodbye Nutella, hello low-carb!) All the dessert recipes look delicious and I appreciate all the info on ordering various low-carb products online. I don’t like to cook either, but it’s nice to have some homemade goodies that I don’t feel guilty eating (yet feel like a guilty pleasure when I do!).

    Thanks again.

    • Lynn Terry says:

I’m excited too, Angie. πŸ™‚ And YES, that nougat creme… wow! Her products are always amazing though. She’s the same one that makes the chunky musli I used in these blondies! πŸ˜‰ You should try her chocolate bars… wowsa. YUM.

What I like most is that you can literally whip up Dee’s mixes into fabulous looking gourmet desserts in literally a matter of minutes. Nothing complicated, no weird ingredients… and so delicious!

What are you planning to do with your chocolate cake mix? I’m trying to come up with something FUN for mine. πŸ™‚ Ideas??

  2. hi Lynn first of all you have created a lovely new blog but it amazes me how you seem to break all the rules like eating sweet cakes having cheese and three eggs for meals yet keep a beautiful body like you have if I ate all these cakes even low carb I would be sure to gain weight anyway you have really taken off since you started using face book steaming thanks for great content I enjoy reading your e mails cheers peter McGrath

    • Lynn Terry says:

lol Peter, it’s because there’s a cool science to a ketogenic low carb diet – so it’s not about calories or low fat like traditional “diets” but rather a means of switching your body to burn fat for energy (instead of carbs & sugar). Fortunately these treats are sugar free, and also gluten free, and actually full of healthy ingredients. πŸ™‚ They just also happen to be pretty and delicious!

  3. Kari says:

    Hi Lynn.

I have been following low carb for almost a month. 26 days to be exact. I have kept my carbs at 20 net almost everyday. I would say I’ve gone up to 30 a time or 2. My issue is hunger. I am still not getting that satiated feeling. I eat 150 grams of fat. Around 1800 calories daily. Do you ever experience that feeling of hunger? I just can’t understand when people say they are full. I always feel that grumbly feeling of hunger. Just curious on your experience with this?

    • Lynn Terry says:

      Hi Kari,

First, keep it super simple: Just do 20 net carbs max, 70% fat minimum – and ignore everything else. Ignore grams, calories, everything. You can’t go by grams because some proteins are also fats, which is why we go by percentages or ratios.

Try that and see if it helps with hunger. I often do 75-85% fat even, with healthy fats like: pecans, avocado, salmon, eggs, cheese, etc.

My calories can be way over 2,000 most days, but I still lose weight as long as I focus on super low carb, super high fat. Try that for 2 weeks ignoring everything else and see how it goes for you. πŸ˜‰ You shouldn’t be going hungry at all!

  4. Gina says:

Wow! Those treats look scrumptious. I need to try some of those mixes as i’ve failed miserably on those lc recipes. And since my kids are grown and gone i rarely make recipes or cook at all.
    I could handle a mix
I love all the varieties of lc treats. Giving up sweets was the hardest part of going lc
Now we can enjoy guilt free deserts or snacks. Yay! πŸ™‚

    • Lynn Terry says:

These mixes really do make it EASY, even for a non cook like me. πŸ™‚ And what is great about the way I make them, like the blondies – is I get 9 meals out of a mix, not just 9 “brownies”. Adding in the nuts & cream cheese (and this time the musli) made for 9 very large squares at just 3.5 net carbs each. πŸ™‚ That makes a bag of mix a great deal!

I love getting creative with them. I’d like to try more muffins with the ideas I shared in the post – especially making larger muffins with more berries and adding walnuts.

  5. Patricia L. says:

I was just putting in an order to Amazon for some Christmas presents and added on the brownies, bloodied, chocolate cookies and two flavors of know cookies. I should be set in the low carb sweets department!

  8. Patricia Clayton says:

After you added your walnuts to the cookies what did that change the net carbs to? I really want that musli, but still saying unavailable. Your fans must have ordered it all, lol.

    • Lynn Terry says:

It can be hard to get sometimes. πŸ˜‰

I use the MyFitnessPal Recipe Calculator and it depends on your brand/amounts so that’s the best way to figure it & log it. Once you put your ingredients in you can log each serving – based on how big/small you make yours and how many come out.
