Day 73: Tricep Dips Video & Low Carb Meals

Here is my Low Carb Food Diary for Day 73 of the “Get Lean For Summer!” 90 Day Low Carb Challenge. It’s NEVER too late to join if you haven’t already!

Note: I haven’t set a date for the next 90 Day Low Carb Challenge yet, but the group stays open & active year round. I may do a short mini-challenge in July before the next big challenge. 🙂 Join in and stay tuned!!

Unlike Tuesday I had NO appetite yesterday, but I did eat two healthy low carb meals and also got in some GREAT exercise.

I’ll share a video with you below, and show you what I’m doing. 🙂

It’s SO easy and you can do it ANYwhere! Anyway here’s what I ate yesterday, along with a little sneak peek into yesterday’s big fun adventure…

Day 73: Wednesday’s Low Carb Meals

I skipped breakfast and only had one coffee because I had early appointments.

I suppose that’s what you call “Intermittent Fasting” although it’s never intentional with me. I love to eat. 🙂 I didn’t have much of an appetite yesterday anyway, or I would have grabbed a handful of pecans on the go or something.

Since I missed breakfast, I had my healthy low carb cereal for lunch. It’s 1/2 cup crushed pecans, 1/4 cup Daisy brand cottage cheese, 4 small diced strawberries – and this time I added 1/8 cup diced blueberries.

It came to 7 net carbs and 84% healthy fats:

Homemade LCHF / Low Carb Cereal

That was delicious. 🙂

I had to scramble around while I was eating to get ready for a “last minute unplanned adventure trip” lol. Joe and I are SO spontaneous!!

My Fitbit was dead, my phone was at half charge, I didn’t have any coffee made, lol – Ack! I pulled it all together though, haha.

LowCarbTraveler On The Go!

I had my Fitbit charged up, my Contigo travel mug full of hot coffee and my new waterproof phone cases… plus my favorite Northside USA adventure shoes.

Time to go exploring and chase waterfalls! 😉

I’ll have to share the hike with you in a detailed photo tour. It was SO much fun! We got lost in the woods on the way out, lol.

On the way back from our hike we stopped at a great little BBQ place for a quick low carb dinner. We got smoked wings & salads:

Eating Low Carb At A BBQ Restaurant

They were FABULOUS. 🙂 Just “smoked wings” with a marinade of worcestershire, lemon juice & hot sauce. (I asked, lol)

Confession: That particular restaurant was REALLY hard for me. I had to pause for a long second before I walked in even, lol. THIS is the place I go when I want an off plan meal. Resisting “my usual” there was tough!! I think Joe was just testing my willpower. 😛 I won!! haha

Here’s My MyFitnessPal Diary for Wednesday:

MyFitnessPal Food Diary for Low Carb Traveler (Lynn Terry)

Tracking Macronutrients (Simple Explanation of Macros)

How To Get Net Carbs in MyFitnessPal

Calories: 1263
Net Carbs: 16
Total Carbs: 25
Protein: 51 Grams
77% Fat, 17% Protein

Exercise: 25 Tricep Dips + Strenuous Hike
FitBit Steps: 7,384
Water: 56 ounces

I did my Tricep Dips while we were on the hike. I did 15 before we headed into the trail, then another 10 on the trail. They’re really easy to do, and you can do them ANYwhere. 🙂 This is the exercise I’m doing at least 5 times a week right now to tone up my flabby “batwings” (the underside of your arm):

My new CaliCase Waterproof, Floating Phone Cases came in this week, so the waterfall hike was a perfect opportunity to test them out!

Especially since we hiked upriver (in the water), hiked the actual waterfall, and even got caught in a downpour. 🙂 I love it. I especially like that I can still USE my phone (and even take great photos) while it’s IN the case! Plus it has an awesome strap and double-lock hook, so you don’t have to worry about dropping your phone or it falling out of your pocket…

That picture is dark because that’s right about the time the dark clouds started rolling in, right before the bottom fell out lol. 🙂 I’ll share the hike with you in another post.

It was really cool, and GREAT exercise.

One of our next adventures includes an ambitious “cave hike” to find a waterfall that is supposed to be hidden deep in the dark depths of the cave. 🙂

The BBQ joint was tough yesterday. Especially since I was physically exhausted from the hike, which is when I tend to have less willpower. 😛

I am still below 145 pounds (which still totally blows my mind!!) and with just over 2 weeks left in the current challenge… I didn’t want to totally tank myself!

I didn’t tell myself “no”. I simply said, “Not today.”

How is your week going so far??

I look forward to hearing from you…

Awesome will power and that meal looked really. Really. Good. Even if it wasn’t your usual. My daughter picked her bday lunch restaurant this morning…..olive garden. That should be interesting. I am hoping for broccoli and chicken Alfredo. I hope I can order that.

I couldn’t resist the power of the scale this morning……I have been trying to just weigh in on mondays but I was confident and dying to see what it was. Down 3lbs from Monday. Super excited since the scale is always moving so slow. And I haven’t had a big dip in so long.. Hoping it stays this weight. So I can move closer to onderland my first goal.

Went for a beautiful 2.5 mile walk with a friend yesterday…..really lifts my spirit to walk with a friend.

    • Lynn Terry says:

Olive Garden has a low carb / gluten free menu! 🙂 Just ask for it. It has FABULOUS meals on it that aren’t on the public menu. 🙂

    • Lynn Terry says:

Congrats on your weight loss this week, Joann!! That’s awesome. 🙂 And it feels great I know – it always gives me a huge spike of motivation.

I agree on the walking. Even just walking with Slim (my great dane) really boosts my mood. But it’s SO nice to have a friend to get out with!

  2. Kimme says:

    Your legs are looking amazing!!!

    • Lynn Terry says:

Thank you Kimme!! I have been working my legs HARD the last couple of months. My midsection and upper body needs some attention now, lol. That’s my big goal for the summer. 😉 I’ll share photos soon (ack!) so you can see exactly what I’m working on – and why. 😛

  3. DJ says:

You look SKINNY girl!! Great pics – and great focus on your goals (eating at a place you love to “cheat” eat). You can really tell your arms are firming up and having some definition and your legs. I think you look awesome and it looks like you feel awesome as well!

    • Lynn Terry says:

Thank you DJ 🙂 🙂 I can really FEEL the work I’ve been doing. I love feeling “strong” – and lean too! I do still have a long way to go. The clothes will fool you lol – I have some “bikini pics” I took last week that will SHOCK you all. They even shocked me. 😛 Ack haha.

I was really proud of myself for eating good last night. That was tough. Especially since I was SO tired. It was a seriously close call. 😉

  4. Sandra Parry says:

Wow, you look great. It is amazing how when it starts coming off how the body changes. Congrats.

    • Lynn Terry says:

Thank you Sandra 🙂 I’m working really hard at it, and really challenging myself. I love the way I look in clothes!! A bathing suit, not so much. 😛 I’m aiming to change that, lol. *cheers*

  5. Edie Wainwright says:

I hope you get credit for all the stuff I buy off of your page. I just ordered 2 of the phone cases!! Everything I get from amazon comes from your page 🙂 thanks for the suggestions !!

    • Lynn Terry says:

Thank you, Edie! I do get credit for some things, not all things, so I really (really!!) appreciate that. 🙂 I bought the phone cases myself at Amazon (the same page I linked to) and was really excited to find those. What a cool thing to have! I should have ordered one ages ago, lol.

  6. Irene says:

You look amazing! You look healthy! Your pictures have encouraged me to ‘keep on keeping on.’ 🙂

    • Lynn Terry says:

Thank you, Irene!! And that TOTALLY makes my day 🙂 🙂 It’s SO worth it. I think back to all the times I gave in or backtracked… and how long I slowed my progress. Blah lol. I’m just glad I’m doing it NOW. 🙂 Here’s to awesome results!! *cheers*

  7. Dianna says:

You look great! For some reason I get the still photos but not the videos.. could you explain how to do the “flabby arms” Tricep Dip. Just curious , what is your cheat meal at the BBQ place? Note: I didn’t think I would but I love your recipe for Tuna Melt biscuits (I freeze them in bags of 3, defrost in Microwave wrapped in paper towels and then lightly butter and grill in a frying pan like a grilled cheese tuna melt!!!) Thanks for your inspiration.
