Here is my Low Carb Food Diary for Day 74 of the “Get Lean For Summer!” 90 Day Low Carb Challenge. It’s NEVER too late to join if you haven’t already!
Note: I haven’t set a date for the next 90 Day Low Carb Challenge yet, but the group stays open & active year round. I may do a short mini-challenge in July before the next big challenge. 🙂 Join in and stay tuned!!
I’m still dealing with random (bad food!) cravings off and on, which seems odd since I’m in ketosis. It’s all mental of course, not an actual physical craving. 😛
I held strong yesterday though, and I’m DETERMINED to finish out this challenge without giving in!
Day 74: Thursday’s Low Carb Meals
I had my usual healthy low carb breakfast. 🙂 It’s 1/2 cup crushed pecans, 1/4 cup Daisy brand cottage cheese and 4 small diced strawberries. It comes to 5 net carbs and 85% healthy fats.
I was out of everything and didn’t feel like getting out… so I just had some almonds with colby jack cheese for lunch. 😛
Later I went out for groceries (finally!!) and also picked up a beautiful salad from Applebee’s carside-to-go. I got a Grilled Salmon Caesar Salad (with no croutons).
I have to ask for the Caesar Salad with salmon instead of chicken, so there’s a slight upcharge for that. But it’s worth it!
I ate half the salad, then had the other half later – with a handful of almonds. 🙂
Here’s My MyFitnessPal Diary for Thursday:
Tracking Macronutrients (Simple Explanation of Macros)
How To Get Net Carbs in MyFitnessPal
Calories: 1919
Net Carbs: 22
Total Carbs: 41
Protein: 84 Grams
78% Fat, 18% Protein
Exercise: Ab Carver Pro, 60 Reps
FitBit Steps: 3,015
Water: 48 ounces
I really had to push myself to do those 60 reps on the Ab Carver Pro last night. 😛 Especially after the 25 Tricep Dips yesterday, plus the big hike! But I got them done anyway. 🙂 It feels GOOD to push myself!!
I mentioned I grabbed some low carb groceries. I already had cream cheese, almond meal, strawberries & blueberries, chicken broth, etc…
So today I got: Daisy Brand cottage cheese & sour cream, salami, pepperoni, Johnsonville kielbasa, eggs, bacon & sausage, parmesan & colby jack cheese, pecans, tuna, broccoli & squash, coffee, creamer & bottled water. Oh, and sugar free pudding + Reddiwip … just in case I get a sweet tooth 😛 lol.
What are some of your low carb staples & favorites??
I didn’t realize until I got home that I picked up “hot & spicy” pepperoni. 🙄 I don’t really like spicy! I think it might be good with the salami and cream cheese though, and maybe some dill pickle to cut the heat.
I have no idea what I’ll end up making or cooking with this combination of foods, lol. Stay tuned and see. It should make for an interesting weekend of low carb meals!
How are things going on your end?
I look forward to hearing from you…

Lynn, I can definitely see you are toning up! That makes all the difference, being toned instead of just thin.
We are headed out of town today and hitting the trail to a waterfall. So excited! I’m stocked up on water and low carb snacks so I won’t be so tempted when we stop to eat at our favorite restaurant later. Looking forward to some good exercise.
Also, I just tried the Atkins Oatmeal fiber bars and they are to yummy for me to have around and they also have malitol the sugar alcohol which upsets my stomach. I’ll just stick with the Harvest bars.

Thank you Marti π I agree. I have a long way to go on the toning, but I already feel stronger – and that feels SO good!
I love hearing that you’re hiking & checkout out waterfalls!! I’m have tons of fun on local hikes and exploring my area – and all the falls. π ENJOY!!
I can relate on the bars. I tend to eat the whole box. π They sent me a free box last week so I’ll eat those (but I’m forcing myself to spread them out lol) … but I do best when I don’t buy them at all.
