Here is my Low Carb Food Diary for Day 69 of the “Get Lean For Summer!” 90 Day Low Carb Challenge. It’s NEVER too late to join if you haven’t already!
I was fighting cravings so hard last night. Not real physical cravings, more like “pining over” off plan foods.
Why? I have no idea. It just hits me sometimes. HARD. You know, like a 2×4 between the eyes. 😛
I decided the fleeting thoughts of wishing for this or that were less miserable than how I would feel if I HAD this or that.
I mean, you can wish you had it, then get it, then wish you hadn’t had it – and it all becomes such a big ordeal, lol. 🙄 So I decided to leave it at a little wishing. (blah)
I figured I should at least sleep on it and see how I felt about it today…
Then I woke up almost a pound lighter this morning at only 145.2 pounds – my NEW lowest weight yet! 🙂 So yeah – NO. lol.
I’m seeing a consistent trend with my scales floating up a bit for a few days, right before they go down – or show another significant loss. Then the numbers hold, float up, and go down again. Interesting! It’s obviously a consistent downward trend (I’m losing weight consistently) so I’m really over letting the number on the scale affect me on a daily basis.
Why did I never notice this before in all my years of eating low carb? Because I’ve never been THIS consistent for THIS long, so in the past the fluctuations were my own fault, lol.
Anyway, here’s what I DID eat yesterday…
Day 69: Saturday’s Low Carb Meals
I had raspberries, cream cheese & almonds for breakfast. This was meant to be my “treat” the night before, but after I fixed it I was too tired to eat it and just went to bed. So I had it for breakfast instead. 🙂
I love berries & cream cheese together! It tastes like cheesecake. YUM!
I had my usual Coffee-Mate Sugar Free Powdered Hazelnut Creamer in my coffees yesterday, but I also had a coffee in the morning with just butter in it. It’s a large mug with 2 TBSP of real butter – blended with a hand mixer.
For someone that LOVES her coffee sweet, JUST butter is really nice too! 🙂
For lunch I decided to cook. AND make something green! (lol)
I made ground sausage & spinach, topped with fried eggs:
I used Pictsweet frozen chopped spinach, and cooked it by the directions (7 minutes in the microwave) first.
Then I added it to the skillet and cooked it in with the sausage (This is a whole tube/pound of Tennessee Pride mild sausage).
Here’s what it looked like once it was cooked. You could easily add onions & peppers, or use spicy sausage to “dress it up” a bit. I just prefer simple. 🙂
Obviously I cooked up A LOT, so I’ll be using the leftovers today. Probably in this delicious low carb biscuit recipe.
Last night Joe and I went down to the river for “dinner and a lightning bug show” 🙂 and stopped through Wendy’s on the way. I’ve never tried one of their burgers, so I asked if they could do a lettuce wrap. They said no, so I had it put in a tray without a bun:
For the same price, Hardee’s definitely has a better low carb burger. 😉 It was good though – once I chopped it up into a “burger salad”…
I didn’t finish my HUGE plate of sausage, spinach & eggs from lunch so I heated up my leftovers and had the rest of that before I went to bed.
Here’s My MyFitnessPal Diary for Saturday:
Tracking Macronutrients (Simple Explanation of Macros)
How To Get Net Carbs in MyFitnessPal
Calories: 1647
Net Carbs: 17
Total Carbs: 25
Protein: 72 Grams
82% Fat, 15% Protein
Exercise: Ab Carver Pro, 100 Reps
PLUS: 10 Tricep Dips
FitBit Steps: 2,502
Water: 56 ounces
I’ve been holding out on the Tricep Dips, but I finally tried them yesterday. I was afraid it was going to be hard 😛 lol. It was easier than I thought.
Instructional videos help a lot! Here’s the one I used:
I just tested it out with 10 Tricep Dips to start, and I did my usual 100 reps on the Ab Carver Pro too (40 to the front, 30 to each side). My arms & core are not sore at all today… so it’s definitely time to up my game!
The weight loss this week is nice, as I still have quite a bit of body fat to lose. But my real focus right now is on TONING, more so than the number on the scale I mean. It’s actually nice to be focused on something besides food and weight for a change. 🙂 Well, except for my random cravings on and off yesterday. 😛
I’m really glad I ignored those “cravings.” Every time I power through a day like that… I feel stronger. It’s really boosting my resolve, and even my self-confidence!
How are things going on your end?
I look forward to hearing from you…
Best,

Must of been something in the air yesterday because I was really wanting some chips! I didn’t eat them but did eat some watermelon. I figure if that was the worst I did then it was a good day! AND I woke up to see a new low number on the scale too! So, we did good!
Just curious when you do the ab carver how far out can you go? I watched a YouTube video on how to properly do it and he stretches all the way out so his back is straight. I can only go about 1/2 way out as it hurts my shoulders. I guess it’s something to work toward!
We don’t have many Hardees around here but lots of Wendy’s. I just ate there the other day and just ordered a son of baconater with no bun and no ketchup and it came with a slab of mayo. I got the combo and subbed the fries for a side salad. Not sure how popular Subways are there but I love to go there and get there chopped salads. You can make any sub into a salad.

I don’t go ALL the way out on the Ab Carver (yet, lol) but I make sure to pull my abs in and hunch my back slightly – vs back curved toward the floor. That helps a lot. I’m working my way farther out every time though. π
Subway is great! A lot of their salads are higher carb count according to their nutrition facts, so I have to allow for it in the day – or create my own. π

Good Morning! I am glad you were able to “Just say no” to carbs yesterday! More power to ya girl! I was not so strong, and gave in to a carb laden meal at a graduation party. I should have taken to heart all the “you look so good” “how much weight have you lost” “how are you doing it?” comments from people I haven’t seen in a few months and kept up my momentum, but, while I caved and ate a little of stuff I shouldn’t have. I didn’t OVER eat or binge eat. I’m glad for that. So had my tea and bacon this morning and I feel okay about my choices last night.
So I noticed that you are eating way less then 20 carbs, Have you changed your macros on MFP? Are you trying to only eat 17? Does the amount of carbs you consume need to change depending on the number on the scale?
Keep up the good work and thanks so much for inspiring all of us on a daily basis. <3

Hi Dayna,
Glad to hear you got right back on track today!
I eat 20 net carbs max, 70% fat minimum. So going under 20 carbs is not a big deal. Sometimes I go over a bit – but I try to stay at or below. Same with the health fats – at or above.
But no, a healthy ketogenic (LCHF) diet is 20 / 70 for anyone. π

Great Lynn, congratulations for your consistency and for not falling to the carb cravings. Im sure the fatty coffee contributed to the 1 pound lost. Every time I go up with fats, the weight comes down,is the best way for me to keep the scale moving
Lynn Terry says
That’s possible, Laura – but I eat very high fat pretty consistently. I think I’ve accidentally done “intermittent fasting” off and on this week (skipped a few meals or gone long periods between).
There’s also the fact that I had that cookie on Wednesday and it threw me out of ketosis. I didn’t realize it until I woke up this morning with keto flu. π Ugh!

Wow! 145….!!!!!! Yay You! Tonight i was craving a cookies and cream ice cream from McDonalds (it’s right across the lot from the hotel :o) but i resisted and instead i made the low carb “cereal” it was very satisfying. Earlier i had two Russel Stovers Pecan bar . Sometimes i just have to have something sweet or chocolatey it is better if i eat the SF chocolate than the real thing
i had a couple of cheats (deserts) in my Birthday week but that is over for me now. I have not lost anymore because of getting out of ketosis but i have not gained so that is a good thing
Everybody says i look so good but i still feel fa . And in reality i still have a lot to lose The thing is that i do not look my weight….i think it is because i lost more on my upper body…. i am sort of tall so maybe i carry it differently. I am only 5’6 now. I shrunk. I used to be 5’7 1/2. I still know that i have more fat to lose and i need to tone up a lot
i can now wear a medium top but i wear a size sixteen pants. I bought a pair of white jean capris in size 16 and they fit. I would never wear white before. At my highest weight i wore a 26/28 in pants and a 4X in tops
I need to lose more on my tummy and hips
someday i want to get to be your size Lyn…..then i would really be happy. You should be SO proud of yourself. I used to weigh 145 many years ago. That is my goal to get that skinny again π
Gigi says
Btw…..i do NOT like Wendys burgers. There Chili is good though. HARDEES is much better. I especially like their, Chicken Club…….YUM
I am glad to see you eating “green” that looked yummy. I love cooked spinach. π
Lynn Terry says
Spinach is one of my favorites – especially cooked with other foods. π
I am VERY pleased with my weight, and it dropped AGAIN today: 144.6 pounds now!! I’m tripping a bit, lol. Very surreal! I have a lot of toning to do too – and I’ll be sharing photos soon along with my summer goals.
I shrunk too! How strange is that?! I also lost half a shoe size lol. I went from 5’7″ to 5’4.5″ – so 2 1/2 inches shorter!! So odd. π
I threw myself out of ketosis last week too with that silly cookie I had before our hike (ugh!) so I totally get it. Now that I’m back in ketosis I’m losing again though – and you will too. π
I love that you are focused on the NSV’s (non scale victories). I’m loving that part too. I used to look for flowy tops to wear – now I’m skipping those in favor of fitted tops because the flowy tops make me look bigger or frumpy. And I used to wear them to “cover that up” lol.
