I tried a few new low carb foods this week, most of which did NOT wow me.
Iโll share my feedback on those things with you, plus the other meals Iโve been eating โ to give you some ideas for keeping it simple on the go & at home.

Here are some of my low carb foods & meals this weekโฆ
I tried the Keto Watt peanut butter bar that came in the July Keto Krate box. I didnโt really like it that much. I didnโt hate it, and I did finish it, I just didnโt LOVE it.
It tasted more like peanuts than peanut butter (very natural flavor) which I liked, but I couldnโt quite enjoy the texture.
I also tried the new Garlic & Herb keto crackers compared to the original flavor by Know Foods. I couldnโt tell a huge difference between the two, so the garlic herb flavor is not overpowering at all.
Have you tried the original Know Thins crackers?
I have to admit, the CRUNCH was a nice addition to dinner! I had them with a simple tuna salad and some colby jack cheese sliced off the block:
I think theyโve changed more than just the packaging. They come in boxes now instead of bags, so thereโs less crumbling!
They used to be more CRISP like a cross between a pringle and a graham cracker. Now theyโre closer in texture to wheat thins I think.
Still the best low carb crackers Iโve ever found! ๐โค
I think theyโd be especially nice with a garlic herb cheese spread & meat tray.
Over the last week Iโve gotten in the habit of making enough cheesy eggs for two meals โ using 5 eggs โ to avoid having to make lunch, lol. ๐๐ณ
My other favorite healthy low carb breakfast is 1/2 cup pecans, 1/4 cup Daisy Brand cottage cheese, 4 small diced strawberries & 18 grams of blueberries. ๐
It comes to 6 net carbs and 85% healthy fat. ๐ช๐
Aldi sent me details on their HUGE product expansion (which includes lots of new organic and keto-friendly foods!) and a few of their new items to try. Plus a nice picnic basket style cooler bag, which was super nice. ๐
They are rolling out the expansion in Aldi stores between now and January 2019, so keep an eye out for new keto foods and organic products โ like this Happy Farms Grassfed Cheddar Cheese:
I used a couple of products out of that package to make an easy low carb snack plate for dinner.
Prosciutto stuffed with cream cheese, grass fed cheddar and Legendary Foods Buffalo Blue Wing almonds, with blue cheese dressing for dipping.
I didnโt like the prosciuttoโฆ itโs like eating raw bacon. lol, weird texture to me! I ate it anyway. ๐
Soโฆ I killed the rest of the prosciutto. ๐ณ โป
(I cooked it, lol) โ It still wasnโt edible though. I tried to pretend it was country ham. That didnโt work. I hate to waste food, butโฆ I tried! ๐
I did get out for a nice low carb dinner while I was out of town for an appointment. I went to Loganโs Roadhouse, because they put out GREAT 20% off coupons if youโre on their email list. ๐
I started with a side caesar salad, no croutons:
I had steamed broccoli, grilled asparagus and grilled chicken โ which I asked to be topped with bacon & cheddar. I was craving green veggies ๐ Yum!
After dinner I went to Starbucks for an iced coffee. ๐
You want to make sure you ask for โno classic syrupโ (or โno cane sugar syrupโ) in your iced Starbucks drinks, and that it says #noclassic on your label. Classic syrup is just sugar water!
I ordered a large/venti iced coffee with HWC (heavy whipping cream, โonly 1/4 cup pleaseโ), 3 pumps of sugar free vanilla & 3 pumps of sugar free cinnamon dolce. Delicious! โ๐
I had take-out twice this past week too. One dinner from a local Greek/Italian place where I had charbroiled chicken with roasted broccoli & cauliflower:

I really prefer salads with spinach, spring mix or romaine instead of iceberg lettuce. Which is what I had for one of my sides on my other take-out meal this week.
My side salad is just a simple romaine & mozzarella with ranch. ๐
Dinner was a huge half pound hamburger steak & roasted veggies from Stacked Bistro, a local restaurant. ๐
Thereโs a few carrots to work around, but I think I can manage. ๐
I also got my order in from FBOMB with the variety packs so I could try ALL the Fat Bomb flavors.

And OMGOSH ~ the Macadamia Coconut is heavenly!!

PRO TIP: Stick one in your pocket, stuff it in your bra, put it under your thigh while youโre sitting at your desk, put it in your leggings while you work out โ or whatever.

I had my driverโs license renewed a few weeks ago, and the side by side comparison of these license photos totally shocked me! They were taken 5 years apart, and theyโre not highest to lowest weightโฆ
I think there is only 30-40 pounds between the two photos if I remember rightโฆ ๐ฏ

Iโve been keeping up my daily dedication to home workouts, just some simple strength building exercises focused mostly on my core and arms and butt for now.

Hello Lynn! Iโm very ready for the ribs I have waiting in the slow cooker at home after looking at that food tonight lol. I have never made them this way but I have them roasting on top of some sliced onion and fresh tomatoesโฆ.I added some beef broth, seasonings and a whole stick of butter since there wasnโt a lot of fat on them. I will add my own SF bbq afterwards. Anyway, clearly Iโm hungry because Iโm describing dinner hahaha. Just wanted to say hello and that I also canโt wait to get a new driverโs licenseโฆ.itโs not expired yet but my picture is so terrible that I am ready for it to be. Things are going well sticking w/ keto and exercise but Iโm still holding myself back w/ the drinking! Same story different day/month/year ๐ Wish I coulld join for the hike!!

Glad to hear things are going well. That dinner sounds AMAZING. I havenโt used my slow cooker in ages, so youโve inspired me! It makes it so easy to cook a delicious pork or beef roast.
Haha good to hear it was fun! I love the slow cooker and try to use it every week or 2 to help my bf out since I get home late for dinner and he always has to cook! This weekend Iโll be using it to make some pulled pork for my family that is coming over. I am pretty easy going when it comes to what goes in there lol just need a meat of some sort, seasoning and whatever veggies are on hand. Thatโs not the best way to do it, but easy peasy healthy meals galore ๐ I need mroe staple recipes though so theyโre GOOD not just OK ๐
I get it โ Iโm โfood boredโ lately, which is why a beef roast sounded like a great idea!
Now I just have to talk myself into getting out to the store. ๐
The Macadamia Coconut are amazing!!! This has become my afternoon snack and fuel for my run after work. Love these!! Reordered them on Monday and received today.
Arenโt they FAST?! I was amazed at how fast they ship. ๐ The Macadamia w/Coconut totally became my new favorite the minute I tasted it. Oddly enough they have NO sweetener or sugar added, yet theyโre perfect for a craving or a sweet tooth fix. Go figure! Iโm in LOVE with the FBombs. ๐

How crazyโฆ. the person that wrote the first message is Amy from WI and I am just Amy, but I used to live in WI and now I am in Kentucky!! Ha! I would love to hike with you some day.
