-2 Since we started but really shouldn’t be as high as I am. Every day I do the best I can, and that is what I will continue to do π 147 today did feel good, but I want to stick around 144 or lower. But hey, I’ve been exercising and IF and eating well so I’m just happy to be healthy! I’ve been quiet on here for awhile but hi Lynn, you look amazing and I am always so thankful for you!
It’s so great to hear from you, Amy! π I’m struggling with my own weight loss lately, so I get it. Mine is just bouncing around oddly for some reason, even though I am staying active and keeping within my macros – so like you, I just continue improving and continue living/eating healthy!
Because… what’s the alternative – right? π *cheers*
Weighing in at 142.3 this morning, but that seems to change daily lol.
Same here! “Bouncing around oddly for some reason” is exactly how I’d explain myself! I run/walk/jog a few times a week, hike and go for walks more than ever before. I’m thinking we must just be toning more than we realize and building muscle, eh? π I’m never going back to the old ways and I LOVE how I feel most days so yes…powering through to the best versions of ourselves! 142.3 would be lovely to see soon, and I have a good feeling that it might be in the “nearish” future!
I think for me the culprit is stress. I’ve been having anxiety again lately for some reason, and I know that has affected me before. So I’m NOT allowing myself to stress about my weight – at all, lol.
I know it will help me a lot (with the anxiety) to get back to walking daily and hiking at least twice a week, plus home workouts for strength building – which will also make me leaner… so that’s my goal. π
Interesting…so have I. I’ll keep that in mind as well. Thanks Lynn! Good luck w/ yours. Anxiety is awful…
Stress always stalls my weight loss. It’s like my whole body goes “on hold” lol. π
I’ve been doing relaxation techniques and really taking it easy on myself, but I know that some good consistent solid exercise will work that right out! π
And yes- anxiety SUCKS. lol
still trying to get on track! Football season is tough with all the tailgating! I’m down 2 from my high start. Luckily!
Hi Anne π
What do you feel makes it most tough, with the football & tailgating? Let’s discuss, and bounce around some ideas for keeping it keto! π
Down 2.3 this week and feeling great, love living low carb. Planning is definitely key for me
Great to hear, Betsy! π What kind of planning do you do – like meal prep? I’m just curious. π I do love when I have things made up I can easily grab and eat. But then I also get tired of eating the same thing a few meals in a row too, lol.
I just returned from a trip from Boston to see the grand babies. Airports are usually a challenge for me, but for the trip out and back I packed my lunch to avoid temptations. I made a chef salad with Marie’s Chunky Blue Cheese with some cashews for a snack on the outbound flight because that’s what I had for dinner the night before I left, so it was a snap to make an extra portion. I fixed egg salad over a bed of spring mix with blue cheese my daughter-in-law had on hand and whole almonds for my snack on the return trip. I saved a ton of money and stayed low carb with no problem.
Smart, Lynn! π Way to go!!
Hi Lynn ^_^ I started with everyone else, two weeks ago and I have lost 8lb in total! π I am super happy, I am hoping to get back into my 10 stones this week, thank you so much for this challenge, it is really keeping me motivated! I don’t think I would be this determined if I had promised myself I was going to see this through π So thank you so much! as I was stalling just doing low carb 40g about per day! and now I have actually lost weight π
Those extra carbs can really make a BIG difference, hey? π I’m so glad you joined us! CONGRATS on your fast results!! π
9/5/17 238lbs
9/19/7 227lbs
Can’t do it without ya’ll. Thanks
Wow, Denise – GREAT results!! π
I’m in love with the cookie in this months krate. I have actually divided it up so I can have a a bit each day for at least a week.
I have just jumped back on the Keto train my starting weight is 174! I started back in Feb at 198 and actually got down to 164, this time around is different I’m not doing it so much for the weight loss but for the way I feel when on low carb. for the past 6 weeks my energy level and decreased and I just feel puffy and BLAH.
I feel SO much better in ketosis too, so I totally get that. You’ll find it MUCH easier to maintain with that mindset as well. π
And that COOKIE – wowsa, lol – SO SO good! I’m getting more, and also reviewing a few of their other products. π They have FOUR flavors: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/cookie – Yum!!
I ordered more myself π
We are going to be VERY happy when our packages arrive π lol
I am struggling with keto. I have been in ketosis since end of July and I have lost 1 pound but lots of inches (pants fitting way loose). I try to keep my carbs below 25. Though somedays it seems to be as high as 40 and this is gross carbs not net. What do you think I am doing wrong? My calories are about 1500-1800. Sorry if I am jumping in late but I just found your challenge in Instagram.
No worries, Nicole – people join in all the time! π
I would start with the source of your carbs. What do your net carbs usually come out to – around 20 net/day? And what types of carbs are they – green vegetables mostly?
Also, are you reaching the 70% fat minimum consistently? Not doing that will stall my weight loss immediately.
It’s a weird phenomenon that some people lose lots of inches but hardly any pounds. That usually happens when you are also working out and building lean muscle. Is that the case for you perhaps?
I was able to stay steady this week with a football game and two funerals. I sure hope this week will be better. 4.6 pounds gone, but i hope to see some loss this week.
That sounds like a tough week, Betty – with two funerals in one week. My heart goes out to you. Loss is hard. Here’s to a MUCH better week ahead! *cheers*
Kudos on the weight loss so far too. How’s your weekend going??
Down 1.8 this week, 4.8 since starting on 9/5. Down a total of 16.8 since 5/17. It’s frustrating being such a slow loser, but I have no plans go off plan. I did that once since May and it stalled me for TWO WEEKS. Those carbs were not worth it. Feeling good and determined.
That is SO true, Stacie – not worth it at all. π I’m a very slow loser too, but the fact that you have lost almost 17 pounds since Spring is actually GREAT!
I’m in process of getting back on track with LC. Have you run across any literature that shows a benefit/avoid for perimenopause? I turned 45 and seriously. Slapped me like a Ton of Bricks. Who cries when u drop a cutting board with a jalapeno? Clearly me now….. Thanks for any references. π
I’m so sorry, Michelle! I went through a full two years like that prior to my partial hysterectomy when they had me on hormones. π Ugh! NO FUN AT ALL.
The main benefits will be weight loss, increased self confidence, the “grounding” and peace of mind of having ONE thing you CAN control, lack of cravings and appetite and binge eating, improved self image – all of which can improve your mood dramatically. π
I am feeling quite low, since I am 2 pounds up since the challenge started. π
I eat about 1350 kcal a day. I don’t think it’s fat that got my weight up to be honest – possibly water. I must say that I’ve been under quite a bit of stress in the past couple of weeks, and haven’t always slept well. I don’t comfort eat. It may be that my fat intake is still low, even though I put butter almost on everything I eat, and coconut oil in my coffee. And I don’t always record my food intake. I have given myself a promise to walk or cycle every day, no excuses like rain etc. Started today with a 60-minute walk. I am determined to keep losing weight, so by tweaking things will figure out what is stalling the weight loss. So far the results are less than encouraging. :/
I have just figured out where I am going wrong – berries. I have such a craving for them, so ate a whole 225g of fresh raspberries today! That’s 10g of sugar. And 1 square (10g) of sugarless (!!) chocolate is 4g of sugar. It all adds up…
It really does add up. That’s why tracking helps so much, so you can see exactly what your carb count is and where your fat/protein macros are. Doing less than 70% fat stalls my weight loss every single time!
It may be with that amount of sugar, even natural sugar, you are not getting in ketosis – which also will keep you craving the sweets (even berries). Once you are in ketosis you have very little appetite and cravings. π
Try tracking super strict for the next two weeks and see how that goes. I bet if you get your carbs below 20 net and your fat above 70% you’ll start seeing a FAST turnaround!
Thank you, Lynn! I cannot agree more. I am being very strict with tracking, starting today. See what happens in the next 2 weeks! π
Keep me posted, Galina! π
The no appetite thing is so weird but you’re totally right. Before I could eat an extra few pieces of pizza and dessert even though I was so full I thought I’d explode but now I’m not even finishing the food I order and can’t “force” myself to finish like I used to be able to. It’s made for a lot of left overs!
I went to lunch with my friends yesterday and ordered my regular (wrap without the wrap) and I ate maybe 1/4 of it and couldn’t make myself take another bite. So weird!
It is odd, but it’s a GREAT thing. It’s what makes a ketogenic low carb diet so EASY compared to other diets. π
Listen to your body: eat when you’re hungry, stop when you’re satisfied… and enjoy the leftovers, and the savings! π lol
I didn’t get to sign on September 19th, but I lost 5 more lbs.
Thank you everyone for the encouragement… Keep up the good work..
Awesome results, Wendy! π Congrats!!
Hi…I’ve been a follower for a long time but never comment π
I’m down 1.6lbs
I absolutely LOVE the Keto Krate!!! I signed up on September 9th and this month is FABULOUS! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Know cookie and just ordered 4 boxes and some wraps π The 30%off Know coupon worked great!
Thank you Lynn for all the FABULOUS ideas & encouragement π
I’m so glad you piped in, Nicole! It’s great to hear from you. π π Congrats on the success already!
I feel the same way, I totally LOVE my Keto Krate boxes. π And that KNOW cookie was the best! I’m going to review more of their products, so stay tuned for updates. I’d love to hear what YOU ordered!
I ordered 4 boxes of cookies…1-lemon, 2- chocolate chip and 1-double chocolate.
I also ordered their wraps π
I am blown away at their quality, taste and texture of those cookies!
Plus they give a 20% discount for not only Military & Students but First Responders too!
My husband is a Firefighter and I truly appreciate a company that includes First Responders π
I thought that was pretty awesome as well. π It really impressed me too. π So much so I’m looking at working with them more closely. And YES, the cookies surprised me. I loved (!!) the flavor and texture SO much, and cannot wait to try the other flavors!
So in 2 weeks I’m down 5.4 lbs! Woohoo! I’ve really only been doing this about 10 days as we were on long trip overseas so mostly have lost what I gained on that trip. But yeah! Have business trip next week so that’s making me anxious.
Way to go, Rebecca! π Don’t be anxious about the trip. I travel low carb all the time, and it’s actually FUN. Make a game out of it even: all the great, creative low carb meals you can find along the way, and ENJOY them! π
I just did a 6 day road trip myself a couple of weeks ago: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/18798/six-day-low-carb-road-trip/ and there are several other posts like that here in my archives from my travels – if you need some ideas & inspiration. π
