Today’s topic: COOKIES! 🙂 You’ll like these cookies because they’re low carb, gluten free, don’t contain malitol or upset your stomach, they’re keto friendly and diabetic friendly, and they come from two different companies that are really cool…
I’ve discovered two different Low Carb Cookies I really like, and Betsy asked some great questions about the difference between them.
I got them both in Keto Krate boxes, by the way. It’s a great service where you get to try 6-9 full sized low carb products every month, which is a great way to mix things up!
I’ve had the opportunity to try some GREAT low carb foods that way that I never would have found on my own. And having new things to add in to my low carb diet every month keeps things from getting boring. 🙂
And let’s be honest… having LOW CARB options for desserts & sweets is what keeps us on track when that sweet tooth hits, right?;)
Keto Kookies vs Good Dee’s Low Carb Cookie Mixes
You make your own low carb cookies, buy low carb cookies, or get low carb cookie mix. But which are best, and what are the differences?
These two are both LCHF, gluten free, diabetic friendly, and come from great companies… with a few differences you should know about.
I’ll say upfront that I’m a big fan of both. I originally discovered Good Dee’s mixes in the August Keto Krate Box and I got to try Keto Kookies when they came in the – wait, I think I met them on Instagram actually. 🙂 Oops!
The low carb Snickerdoodle cookie is a new product from both companies. I tried both of their original Chocolate Chip cookies first, and loved them! I’m patiently waiting for them both to come out with Low Carb Peanut Butter Cookies now.:)
The Keto Kookies are pre-made and pre-packaged of course, but otherwise they are VERY similar to Dee’s in both flavor and texture…
No Malitol, No Tummy Upset
They both use erythritol, which is ideal – because it doesn’t upset your stomach like most sugar substitutes. And it tingles on your tongue a little. 😉
Similar Taste & Texture, Except…
Both have a true cookie texture and they taste very similar, both the chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookies. I would say that the Keto Kookie is more crumbly and much softer, but that’s because I baked my batch of Good Dee’s cookies a little crisp – because I like them that way:
This picture shows the “real cookie texture” of Good Dee’s chocolate chip cookies:

Grab & Go vs Fresh Baked
I love the Keto Kookies for convenience (especially since I don’t cook much – AT ALL, lol). They’re easy to just grab & go, or toss in with your lunch or whatever.
With Good Dee’s mixes you can add your own additional ingredients though, like walnuts or pecans. 😉 They way I made my low carb brownies with her mix was amazing!! See my Low Carb Brownies for example ~ YUM! 🙂
Obviously with Good Dee’s mixes you can enjoy that warm, fresh baked yumminess. You can always warm up the Keto Kookies too though, and pretend you baked them.:) Which sounds like something *I* would do!
Here’s the Keto Kookie new Snickerdoodle cookie:
Carb Count Differences
The Keto Kookie Snickerdoodle is 1 net carb per cookie.
Dee’s Snickerdoodle mix is 2 net carbs per cookie.
Keto Kookie’s Chocolate Chip is 3 net carbs for 2 cookies (1.4 each).
Dee’s Chocolate Chip mix is 2 net carbs per cookie.
Both of Good Dee’s cookie mixes make one dozen cookies.
A box of Keto Kookie cookies is one dozen – 6 two packs.
Price Comparison
The Keto Kookies are boxed by the dozen for $19.95 – and you’ll find a 10% discount on the site. Dee’s low carb cookie mix is $11.99 and makes 12 cookies (the same number). You do have to add your own ingredients of course – and cook them. 🙂 She also has a discount option in the top right corner of her site as well.
How To Get The Discounts 🙂
Go to the Keto Kookie site and sign up by email for 10% off.
Go to Good Dee’s site and look in the top right corner for a 15% discount.
If you haven’t signed up for Keto Krate yet, you can get $5 off your first box when you sign up by email to get their current coupon code.;)
I love them both!
Hopefully these details and this comparison proves helpful if you were torn on which low carb cookies to try! I love them both. 🙂 For different reasons of course.
I love Good Dee’s mixes because I can get creative with them and add my own ingredients. Or you could use the Snickerdoodle cookie mix to make a “dessert crust” for a low carb pie or decadent low carb dessert.
They’re not cheap – that’s true. That’s the most common feedback I’ve heard so far on both of these products. That’s what I love most about Keto Krate though – getting to try a big variety of full sized products every month for one low rate. Then I can order more of what I love, and they always include coupons & discounts for that.
You can also make your own low carb cookies of course. There are tons of recipes online, on Pinterest, and I even have a low carb cookie recipe here. That recipe is VERY versatile, and you can sweeten to taste of course. So there are lots of options…
I would love to hear your thoughts if you have tried either or both – or which one you think you would prefer, and why!
Have you tried Keto Kookies yet, or Good Dee’s low carb cookie & brownie mixes?
They’re both GREAT products. I LOVE to see companies catering to the keto community and low carb lifestyle. They are also companies run by GOOD people. I’ve had the opportunity to get to know the owners behind both companies, and talk to them often via email & instagram.
Oh – and I lose weight EVERY week that I make Good Dee’s brownies like this. 🙂

I haven’t tried the Keto Cookies yet. And while I love the idea and the first few bites of Dees, it is that Erythritol “tingling” or taste that gets to me and I end up trashing the rest. I have never known how to describe it, but tingling isn’t a bad start.
It’s definitely my taste as others find them delicious. Having had WLS, my tolerance for sweet tastes has changed. Now I eat essentially low carb, though not always in keto.
Do the keto cookies have this tingly taste too? More or less of this than Dees? Any idea on what to add to the mix on Dees to change that? Nuts? Almond flour? On the chocolate brownies I did put a little peanut butter on top which helped some. Just looking for suggestions here.
Thanks Lynn for always sharing and especially comparing these products. It’s so nice to broaden the field of what we can eat.

I adore Good Dee’s brownie mix. I add three-quarters of a cream cheese package after I mix in the eggs. When they’re done, I top each brownie with a mixture of the rest of the cream cheese and a sugar-free syrup of some kind, or just with vanilla.

Thanks Katie. Maybe I’ll give that a try today.

Yes, the Keto Kookies are very sweet as-is, which is why I usually stack them with cream cheese and berries and/or peanut butter.
For Dee’s baking mixes, those are VERY versatile. The last three ways I used her mixes I didn’t get that “cooling effect” you’re referring to. Here are some ideas:
