If you’re participating in the 2017 Low Carb Challenge (feel free to join in anytime!) we do weigh-ins every Monday. Here’s the Week Three Weigh In for the Facebook group, or you can weigh in here by leaving a comment below on this post.
I don’t know where this past week went, lol. It’s Monday again already and it all feels like a total blur! Do you ever have weeks like that?? 😛 Geez…
I have the flu, or some kind of cold virus, and it’s really kicking my ***.
I’ve been keeping my meals simple and snacking on bland raw pecans and sipping hot chicken broth, and of course drinking plenty of water.
My current weight is 136.8 pounds, down from 142 which I floated up to after some off-plan meals a few weeks ago. I’ve stayed on track since then and feel MUCH better.
Of course my weight is holding steady this week while I’m sick. Often your body will do that if you’re sick or injured, or taking any kind of medication. It just goes into a “hold” which is totally normal.
I’ve shared my low carb meals as I go on Instagram and also on Facebook, but I have some catching up to do from the last few days. I’ll add the new photos there too. You can browse both of those photo streams for easy low carb meal ideas. 🙂
How are things going for you?
How are you doing with your low carb meals & macro tracking? Any questions or struggles? I would love to hear how your week is going and what you’re eating!
Don’t forget to weigh in below, or in the group…
Leave a comment & let’s talk. 🙂

This is week 2 of my 6 weeks forced BIC (butt in chair) after foot surgery. No weight at all on my foot for 6 weeks. This will be hard but if it fixes my years long foot pain it will be worth it. I was afraid I would want to snack all the time but so far not happening. My scales usually require 2 feet on the scale before it will give you your weight but this morning I did a balancing act and got a reading of under 190 – which is good. As long as I don’t gain during this time I will be happy. I am looking forward to spring and getting outside and walking again.
I hope it does fix your foot pain – forever – Kathy. That would definitely be worth it! Take good care of yourself and heal fast. π Don’t worry about not exercising right now. I lost all my weight just eating low carb. I only started exercising in the last year or so to one up and build muscle weight.
It’s okay to have low carb snacks. I snack on raw pecans sometimes at my desk for example. I just log and track, and am mindful about what I eat. If I’m “bored” (that’s rare for me lol, I’m an introvert) – then I’ll dig into a good book or a creative project of some kind.
I look forward to Spring too, btw. π It’s COLD here this morning! *cheers*
This is my first week and I’m down 7.2. pounds..I know it won’t ever be that much again probably but it is a great start.
Hi Kathy,
That’s a great first week – congrats! π
Just keep doing what is obviously working so well for you. The biggest mistake most people make is backing off or quitting when they don’t lose as much – or any at all – some weeks. It’s actually normal for your weight loss to work in cycles, so just stay consistent no matter what the scales say. That’s the trick!
A low carb diet will put you in ketosis, which is a diuretic – that’s why you shed so much water weight the first week. Which feels GREAT. You’ll also find it’s a natural appetite suppressant, so you’ll have less bloating and less cravings, and it just becomes EASY to stick with it. π
Hello, Lynn and Participants!
I had a great week, keeping fast to my personal commitments! I even made some low carb hot cocoa to curb my cravings!
I’m weighing in at 199.0 today… Down 5.8 lbs from last week. I know I checked in a 206.8 last week, but I didnt allot for the heavy winter clothing I put on before weighing myself… I threw those clothes on the scale and they were nearly 2 lbs! So I adjusted last week.
Now that I’m back on track, I’m gonna add some strength training this week!
Have a good one!
Tishana
Way to go, Tishana! π I really enjoy simple strength training exercises. There’s so much you can do at home in short time without any equipment even – like doing Tricep Dips while the coffee brews. π
Finally can say that I feel like I’ve got this all under control π I’m doing really good and finally hit my 20 lb mark this morning. I leave for an all inclusive Jamaica vacation on Monday and have full intentions of sticking to this WOE while I’m there. I might allow for a couple fruity drinks but for the most part, I think it will be easy and I HOPE to even lose a lb or so while I’m there. Wishful thinking maybe, but hey, why not! π Hope you feel better soon Lynn.
Thank you, Amy. π And congrats on hitting that 20 pounds lost mark!! I know that was a big goal for you, so KUDOS for reaching it. π Have FUN on your trip! *cheers*
Thank You! This morning was -20.2! I’ve started doing Intermittent Fasting (which I think you don’t back really because it feels more like dieting that way?) but its working and I’m not feeling miserable I’m going to keep it up!
I actually skip meals sometimes, just not on purpose (lol). My only reason for not doing IF myself is because I used to have eating disorders. So I try to keep it simple: eat when I’m hungry, don’t when I’m not, and make healthy mindful food choices. π
186.2. Today, up a little. I think I had too many almonds.
Hi Betty,
It’s normal for your weight to fluctuate a bit. Mine does! But on those almonds, definitely weigh and log them – that way you can track how they affect you. π
Do you have a small kitchen scale? The one I use was very inexpensive and works great for what I need! I got it on Amazon here: http://amzn.to/2jeBWqU
I started this challenge December 11th and have lost 24 pounds. However the past 2 weeks I am stalled out and haven’t lost anything. My macros are right on target. I’m staying under 15 net carbs per day. I am feeling very frustrated. Any suggestions would be great!
Hi Camra π Losing 24 pounds in a little over a month is A LOT, and first congrats for your hard work & results! It’s actually normal for your body to “hold” for a week or two at a time to adjust to such major weight loss. The key is to keep doing what is obviously working, and just allow your body that time. Don’t change a thing! Or if you did, just change back.
We all go through those cycles as part of a normal weight loss trend. π
Thanks for the encouragement!!! I am proud of the loss I’ve had. I just wasn’t sure if it the stall was normal or not.
Just joined π My Monday weigh in is 210.8, Im going to Puerto Rico in June so Im trying to get off 30 lbs….hope that’s not impractical.
Not at all Maria – it’d definitely achievable. π Great motivation!!
I must be doing something wrong I have been doing since the second of Jan I have lost 7 pounds I only had one bad meal.
Hi Mary,
7 pounds in 3 weeks is great! Especially if you ate off plan once and had to start over. How are things going now??
Just joined today.. 218,8.
Welcome Revi π How’s it going so far??
Just joining here but I’m starting my 8th day on low-carb and have lost 11.7 pounds! I have always been scared of fruit on low carb so seeing all these berries has my wheels turning, but scared to change my habits now. Maybe after 2 weeks I’ll add in some different types of foods and see if it’s still rolling off. Right now I am doing some veggies, eggs, cheese and meats and netting under 30. I’m excited to see everyone’s progress and encouragement!
Hi Cricky π Congrats on your success so far! Berries are not technically a fruit, and are totally fine in moderation – as long as you track them like everything else.;)
