My scales finally moved this morning: I’m down to 145.8 pounds. That’s a 1.2 pound drop from 147, where my scales sat for 4 days in a row. I didn’t eat enough yesterday, so it doesn’t really feel like a fair loss…
That brings me to 8.8 pounds lost during this challenge, in the last 7 weeks.
I’m guessing I have less than 10 pounds to lose now, but I still have a lot of toning to do. My goal is to lose the rest of the body fat and build muscle, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out as a number on the scales.
I’m really pleased with myself for staying consistent with healthy low carb meals, and exercise too. 50 days in a row feels like a HUGE accomplishment! 🙂
Exercise has to be a serious priority from this point forward. Not just cardio, but strength training and sculpting, to get my new leaner body actually looking decent. Because “skinny fat” is NOT attractive, lol. Ugh.
Here is my Low Carb Food Diary for Day 50 of the “Get Lean For Summer!” 90 Day Low Carb Challenge. It’s not too late to join us if you haven’t already!
Day 50: Monday’s Low Carb Meals
I had my favorite low carb breakfast: 1/2 cup pecan pieces, 1/4 cup Daisy Brand cottage cheese and 4 small diced strawberries.
It comes to 5 net carbs and 85% healthy fats, perfect macros!
I had my breakfast sort of late, then I only ate one other time yesterday.
I grabbed a Low Carb Thickburger from Hardee’s (plain w/cheese = zero carbs) while out running errands in the evening.
I didn’t even feel like eating that, but I forced it – as I had a 2 hour drive to make and felt kinda icky (hungry, but no appetite for food).
Here’s My MyFitnessPal Diary for Monday:
Tracking Macronutrients (Simple Explanation of Macros)
How To Get Net Carbs in MyFitnessPal
Calories: 842
Net Carbs: 12
Total Carbs: 19
Protein: 34 Grams
78% Fat, 16% Protein
Exercise: Cardio + Brisk Walk (1.2 Miles)
FitBit Steps: 7,335
Water: 32 ounces
It was late by the time I got out for a walk yesterday, after dark even. Which was good for Slim because it had cooled off – but it was a little creepy. Shadows, random people, a big dog howling, etc. We just powered through and pounded out a good fast walk. The water fountain downtown was purple last night. Slim always likes to stop there for a drink, but he wasn’t interested in purple water. 😛
I’m disappointed in my weight loss. It feels like a cheat, given I hardly ate yesterday. I had a rough day. I realize my habits are changing…
I no longer turn to food when I’m down or upset. I like that I “pound it out on the pavement” (exercise) instead now, as that’s a great replacement.
But not eating – that could easily turn into the opposite kind of “food problem” because I’ve been through that before, when I was much younger.
I’ll get back on track today, I’m sure. I was just distracted, upset, exhausted, and couldn’t be bothered to even think about food.
I’m headed out to do a little exploring today, and to get some outdoor exercise. Stay tuned for photos! Of course I’ll have to find a pair of shorts that fit, because everything I own is falling off of me at this point. 🙄
How are things going on your end?
I look forward to hearing from you!

It would be a good idea to take water with you for Slim when he goes walking. Dogs should not drink ground water or stream water or water from a fountain. They usually have signs saying the water is not for drinking (they do have signs at the fountains in Europe) because sometimes they add chemicals to the water to keep it clear.
Lynn Terry says
True, Olivia! Slim usually drinks out of my water bottle. We share. π But I do live in Tennessee where we have a lot of great natural water sources. He likes rainwater out of the birdbath and natural springs best.
He has an eating disorder and is VERY picky, so he will turn down anything sketchy. I never have to worry about his water choices. π

Haha…our doggy thinks our pool is his own giant water bowl lol. He’s healthy as a horse tho π
Woohoo…145.8 lbs…way to go…im so proud of you girl!!!! I did good on the 3Imax yeaterday, walked and did some toning too!!!

Hi Lynn!
I’m currently doing the 30 day dumbbell challenge and I really like it. You don’t need anything fancy except for dumbbells and an exercise ball.

I think it’s a great place to start toning.

Thank you Jeannine, im going to check that out π

Awesome, thanks! π

I have been running and hiking a lot and the scale has been slow but I notice I am down a solid dress/pants size recently. Since I started low carb again I’m down 14 lbs. :):) It just has to be a way of life for me. Easy to do on the road! Congrats on the number on the scale and the steps!!
Lynn Terry says
That’s awesome, Michelle π 14 pounds is a BIG difference. I know it is on me. I’m seeing a huge physical difference as well, even though the scales move super slow. It’s very encouraging. π *cheers*

Hi, Lynn. First of all, I have been following your posts for a few months now and truly appreciate your recipes and meal ideas, especially that they are both simple and tasty! I just made the “Low-Carb Sausage Biscuits” last night and LOVE THEM!! That will definitely be one to go on my favorites’ list to make regularly! I also enjoy how honest and candid you are with your readers, which helps us all to relate to our own struggles and mindsets. The LCHF foods will be the way I eat from now on; so, any great food / recipe ideas just make it all even more enjoyable and manageable. Thank you for your dedication and generosity in giving your time and devotion to others like me! You’re doing a great job!! God bless!
Lynn Terry says
Thank you so much, Joy. π It’s notes like yours that make this all worth doing! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. It really made my day. π *cheers*

Congratulations that’s my goal also, bease I’m 5’5″ also. I don’t really want 2 exercise because I guess I haven’t adjusted yet 2 low carb, feel tired alot. I do like walking, hope 2get more active, because I’m flabby, yucky, lol!
Enjoy your lean & firm self!!
Sherry

Thank you, Sherry! It took me a LONG time to get in the habit of exercising. I kept trying, on and off, and never consistently – until the last month or two. And it feels GREAT. π I wish I had done it much sooner. But I guess you get into it… when the time is right for you. Or when you finally want it bad enough – the results. That’s what did it for me.
I say go at your own pace. Walking is how I started out, and I still love to go walk… but adding in strength training & weights will make a bigger difference faster. π

Wow go you!! That’s awesome. I weighed myself again this morning and after being sick and not eating a whole lot I had gained a pound. But it came right back off this morning. I’m really trying to stick to really easy, low carb meals for the next couple weeks. My meals yesterday were:
B:bpc, 2 fried eggs, 2 slices bacon
L: 2 stuffed meatballs, celery w/ranch, sf jello cup
D: hot wings (chicken, franks red hot sauce, butter…0 carbs), cucumber salad
I had a total of 7 net carbs and 75% fat.
I’m making some LC pancakes as we speak and will be making some sausage biscuits later. It’s nice to have things already prepared so I don’t have to do a whole thinking about my meals.
Lynn Terry says
I like that too – except the cooking part, lol. But I do love having easy things on hand to grab real quick. π Easy is good. My weight always fluctuates up and down when I get sick, don’t sleep enough (or well enough), get stressed, etc. Simple foods will definitely make a difference!

Ypu look so slim now. Do you see it? Wow! I have not weighed myself. yet. I will tomorrow
The scale intiminates me. π

I havw to get down to the free breakfast bar early tomorrow. Today i got there late and there were no more boiled eggs left. π
There are some greedy boiled egg eating folks staying here. LOL. π

Good News……the mercury retrograde us over. Now we can move forward again ……Yippee. i have a birthday next Friday. π no cake for me.
Gigi says
Ok. I weighed myself….i lost only 1/2 lb but i maintained my 2lb weight loss from last week. Hooray. At least the scales ARE going down. 8.5 lbs lost since this challenge. 15 total since Jan 2016. π
Lynn Terry says
Way to go, Gigi! We’re both losers. π haha! I have a birthday coming up next week too (the 7th). I don’t really like cake, so that won’t be an issue for me at all. π
I make my Smokies in the microwave too, btw. They’re great!
And THANK GOODNESS for crazy mercury. Move on, I say. π Things have been NUTS here lately lol. *cheers*
