From hiking shoes to high heels, it’s been an eventful week with TONS of exercise!
My scales creeped back up to 148.6 this morning, and I don’t even care.
I’ll show you why. 🙂
You’ll also get to meet my son (my oldest of two children), and see how I kicked off this awesome Mother’s Day weekend…
I feel wiped out today…
I’ve been going nonstop all week! Tuesday I walked my legs off (lol), Wednesday I did a seriously adventurous hike – and I still have to share that with you, it was SO cool!
Thursday I played all night at the carnival 🙂 and last night I danced for HOURS at an Avett Brothers concert.
My poor legs, lol… It was dancing all night in 4″ heels that really topped me off. 😛 This morning I’m enjoying the warm sun, cool breeze… and my PJ’s!!
My son is also an Avett Brothers fan, so we met up in downtown Nashville last night to hit a concert together.
I was torn on what to wear. While I was going through my closet I came across one of my new dresses… and decided to get brave and see if it would fit. I had intentionally ordered a smaller size for inspiration, and it’s also a very “fitted” style dress – the kind that HUGS your curves.
I was floored. 😯 IT FIT! Not only did it fit… it looked fabulous! 🙂
Dress: V-Neck Pleated Wrap Front Slim Pencil Bodycon Dress $22.89
I have to credit SPANX of course, for holding everything together under there, lol. 🙂 If you haven’t tried spanx yet, read this! I wish you could see how great this dress looked from behind. Spanx gives me such nice (smooth) curves!!
I felt amazing last night. 🙂 And of course I had a delicious, healthy low carb dinner… because carbs will NOT fit in that dress – lol.
Here is my Low Carb Food Diary for Day 33 of the “Get Lean For Summer!” 90 Day Low Carb Challenge. It’s not too late to join us if you haven’t already!
Day 33: Friday’s Low Carb Meals
I started the day with my usual low carb breakfast of: 1/2 cup pecan pieces, 1/4 cup Daisy brand cottage cheese, and 4 small diced strawberries.
It’s 5 net carbs and 85% healthy fats, so a perfect LCHF meal to start the day!
For lunch I made sausage and fried eggs. It’s such an easy one skillet meal, and so filling! Plus it’s hardly any carbs.
Eggs are .4 carbs each, so the entire plate was just 1.2 carbs.
I met my son and his friend Isabelle in Nashville, and we had a fabulous dinner at Joe’s Crab Shack. We were in a bit of a hurry since we had a concert to get to, so I didn’t get too fancy with my ordering. I decided on something that would be fast & easy to eat, and that hopefully wouldn’t end up all over my dress. 🙂
I ordered the cedar smoked salmon and a double side of broccoli.
They didn’t have sour cream, or the fixings to make “loaded broccoli” so I dipped it in ranch instead – which was good. The salmon was okay. It definitely was NOT as good as O’Charley’s Cedar Plank Salmon – which is always fresh, never frozen.
Here’s My MyFitnessPal Diary for Friday:
Calories: 1897
Net Carbs: 18
Total Carbs: 28
Protein: 109 Grams
76% Fat, 20% Protein
Exercise: Dancing!! 🙂
FitBit Steps: 12,457
Water: 24 ounces
I had SO much fun dancing last night! And of course my son and his friend Isabelle were great company.
We laughed, ate, got in an altercation with an aggressive vagrant (lol) and had an all around good time. Here’s a photo of my son and I together. He’s 24 years old (my oldest of two), and such a great kid. I’m a super proud mom. 🙂
What a nice way to kick off my Mother’s Day weekend!
Of course I was surrounded by amazing smells and a variety of food booths at Bridgestone Arena. There were a few moments of temptations. Especially when I stopped at the Dunkin Donuts stand to ask for directions (like a dumba** lol). Fortunately I had a full tummy from that GREAT dinner, and a strong resolve. My mind was set on enjoying the show, and dancing my way past 10,000 steps. 🙂
How’s your weekend going?
I hope you have a VERY happy Mother’s Day! 🙂
Best,
Lynn Terry,
aka @LowCarbTraveler
p.s. I think I filled out that dress much better than the model. 🙂 haha
Laurie says
Wow. You look fabulous! I wish I could become as dedicated as you are. Thanks for sharing.
Lynn Terry says
Thank you Laurie! π You can… I wished that same thing for a long time. If I could go back in time and show myself how THIS feels… I would have pushed myself to do this a lot sooner. π It’s SO worth it!!
Sharon says
You look fantastic! LOVE the dress and it looks super on you. I’ve been really good and got “rewarded” by my husband today when he said “Your breath really smells” Um….okay….good for Low Carb BAD for the rest of the world. How do you conquer Keto breath?
Lynn Terry says
Thank you, Sharon! And lol, I’m not sure… I’ve heard about that problem a lot, but I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced it myself. Mints? Hmm – I’d google that one. π
Clare Giammusso says
Funny, I had the exact same dinner at Applebee’s last night. It was grilled salmon and a double order of broccoli. Very satisfying. I have a ways to go yet but my clothes are loose and I just feel fabulous.
Lynn Terry says
That’s awesome, Clare – it’s so nice to feel GOOD! π And yes, salmon & broccoli is one of my favorite meals, so easy to order almost anywhere too.
Gigi says
Lyn…..What on earth were you thinking—-asking for directions at a Dunkin Donuts. Hahaha. π it must have been your subconscious leading you there. π
You look FAB in that dress. I bet you have lost inches galore.
I am glad you had a great time at the concert in Nashville…..the music capitol of the US. One day i want to visit there. My luggage took a detour there last year but not me. π
I have my fancy smancy dinner tonight…..i am making mental plans on how iwill eat. Wish me luck. Lol.
You have a good lookin son……not surprised as he has a beatiful mom
Happy mothers Day Lyn!
I am having one of those retrograde-introspective, teary eyed days. I miss my mom so much. This is always a sad time for me since she passed 3 years ago.
Hopefully getting out tonight will help me get happy again. π
Lynn Terry says
haha, I just walked up to the nearest booth – THEN looked down, and I stalled for a long minute and couldn’t ask my question. The guy probably thought I was nuts. π lol
Thank you, Gigi. π I felt fabulous, and it was so fun to hang out with my son!
I hope your dinner tonight is FUN. My mother is not speaking to me at all, so I know how hard some of these holidays can be. I’m not sure I’m going to get to see my daughter either, as she took a new job (and lives 4+ hours away)… so that’s kind of a bummer.
Anyway, take a deep breath, send smiles up to your mother, ENJOY your outing, and have a great time!! Happy Mother’s Day! π
Gigi says
I always get tickled every time you refer to donuts like a four letter word. π
I have had a love-hate relationship with D**%Γs most of my life. It was my crack. π i am in donut remission now. I really don’t miss them (that much) but i wouldn’t want to tempt fate by walking in a dunkin donut shop. π
I know now that there are yummy low carb treats that i CAN have. — If i decide to try out some of those low carb recipes later or even the cream cheese and berries is a great treat.
Lynn Terry says
The cream cheese & berries – or even berries & brie!! – are SO good, such a nice rich treat. π
If I thought I could eat just one ***** I would. I know myself too well, lol. It’s a dozen or none. π
Gigi says
Ps. I bought myself a special mothers day gift at Walmart last night—– A Contigo coffee mug. I tried it out as soon as i got home. It does keep the coffee warm a long time. I got the jade- green colored one.
I didn’t know that there were different types. Onof Contigo mugs. My mug is 20 oz. It has a snap on spout. I wanted the one like you have with the automatic seal but i just grabbed this one. I did not see the one like you have with the automatic seal
Anyway i am happy with this one. Thanks for the reccomendations
What’s cool about this mug…..it has a lifetime guarantee which is good because i already dropped it in walmarts parking lot and it survived. It IS durable. π
Lynn Terry says
Yes, I do really love mine. The way mine locks, it stays sealed and doesn’t spill even if you put it in your bag or whatever – which I love! I got mine on Amazon though…
BJ says
Lynn ,
Wow you look fantastic healthy and happy. I pray you have a awesome Mother’s Day. For sure you look to young to have a 24 year old son.
Lynn Terry says
Thank you, BJ! π I’ll be 43 next month π
Happy Mother’s Day to you as well!
