I woke up at 2:30am on Friday, so I had 4 โmealsโ yesterday. I also went out last night, so add on the carbs for a few beers and I went over my usual โ20 net carbs a dayโ goal.
It wasnโt that big of a deal though โ considering how LONG the day spanned, with a fun night out included. ๐
Here are my low carb meals & macros for yesterday, to give you some easy meal ideas for staying on trackโฆ
Breakfast was leftovers from an extra plate of take-out I ordered at the local BBQ place the night before: Pulled pork & green beans. It was actually a pork BBQ sandwich, with no bread or sauce.
Late in the morning I had what I call my โlow carb cerealโ: 1/4 cup cottage cheese, 1/4 cup pecans, 2 strawberries. I stir it all together and eat it like cereal. Delicious! It comes very close to reminding me of the Special K cereal I like. ๐
I made a late lunch before I headed out. I just scrambled two eggs with cheese, and heated up some leftover sausage Iโd made the day before.
That made for a quick, filling meal!
At the concert last night I had a few beers and 2 hot dogs dipped in mustard. I was worried about the beer because they didnโt have my favorite low carb beer (Michelob Ultra), but it turns out Miller Lite (eh, lol) is fairly low carb. WHEW! Heh.
You can see how my macros and carb counts worked out for the entire (long) day in my MyFitnessPal Food Diary below.

Hereโs how I get the Net Carb column in MyFitnessPal.
Iโve been doing A LOT of fast-paced walks in the sunshine, and of course last night all around downtown Nashville too. Hereโs a picture of me and Slim (my Great Dane) out for a long walk on Thursday afternoon:
Iโm feeling GREAT and working really hard toward my goals. ๐
I didnโt walk today since I did almost 10,000 steps late last night, but tonight Iโm going to get an upper body workout with my Ab Carver Pro โ and Slim and I are planning a fun walk at the river tomorrow.
What about you โ are you sitting on the sidelines, or are you kicking ass on your goals?! ๐ Leave a comment and letโs chat!

Well, I took my first trip since reading your blog and I wanted to put into practice all the new things I have learned. I traveled to see my sisters in Louisiana. On thursday, the day of travel, I didnโt eat breakfast, met friends for a lunch in Baton rouge. I had a seafood ceasar salad, couldnt eat it all, but very good. Before getting to my sisters house I stopped at the grocery store and got some cottage cheese and no sugar jelly (for my dessert). Also a Cauliflower, some steaks, zuchinni, and boiled shrimp. for dinner we had a homemade chicken salad with avocados (my sister and brother in law ate bread with theirs). For breakfast we made an omlette with the leftover shrimp. delicious. that night we ate grilled steak, zuchinni, steamed cauli with a little cheese, and some grilled sausage.
I left Louisiana this morning, didnโt eat breakfast. At the airport I was able to get a dish of sauteed veggies, and some sauteed spinach. It was really good. At my layover in Atlanta, I had a low carb beer, a few smoked ribs, and a small dish of green beans. I managed to walk quite a lot at the airport, about 6,000steps. when I got home, I had my dessert of cottage cheese with a little jelly and pecans. I havenโt put it all into my fitness pal yet, but I think I did really well.
I had brought a bag of the seasoned pecans with me, and these were perfect for an occasional snack especially since I skipped a few meals. I wasnโt hungry for the three days. I feel My first trip out on low carb was a pretty good success. Thanks for the help.
You did great, Clarise! Way to go. ๐ Great food choices, lots of healthy picks. Glad to hear it went well and you had a great time!
