Interesting videos, Lynn. LOVE that old style kitchen… seriously. Seeing your kitchen I think now I finally believe you that you don’t cook… lol. Reminds me so much of my kitchen before I move in with mom to look after her. Luckily I never had company so no one saw the weird stuff in my cabinets, on my table, under my table. Mostly tools, of all things, since I did home rehab for a living then. I guess you can learn a lot about a person by peeking in their cabinets, hey? And Slim! I never knew he was so shy 😉 On the more technical side of things… did I hear a smoke detector chirping in the background? You know, they need batteries for a reason. If I mail you some batteries will you install them? Or better yet, could you do that before the live session? Not sure if I can make that (if only I *cared* whether my/mom’s kitchen was organized… lol, sorry, but I’m sure I’m the most disorganized person you’d ever meet)… but I just thought others would appreciate the quiet (non-chirping) background. You probably don’t even notice it. Take care, Lynn!

Hi Chris 🙂
I love my old house. I really do. It’s been updated and added on to quite a bit – all except for the poor kitchen. lol. But it kind of reminds me of my grandmothers kitchen… and I like it. Especially all the great cabinet space!
And yes, lol – now you know I don’t “cook”. haha. I aim to change that though, and I do have some cool gadgets & such, so it’s just a matter of placing them more conveniently to make it super easy to hop in there and whip up a meal!
The noisy background – the chirp was my son’s phone I think. He came in and out while I was recording that video. And my housekeeper was busy in the background. I just went with it anyway. 😛 haha
Poor old Slim. He’s super shy – and wary of things like tripods, lol. He’s always been a quirky sort. Which is probably why we make such a great pair. 🙂

This is my fifth month of retirement. The first month, I was lucky enough to pick up a copy of “The Japanese Art of Tidying”. Don’t buy the book, just YouTube it. It changed my life, and watching your video I laughed, because that was my kitchen too! Our house was built in 1920’s as well, and I love the old features…but the whole idea of hanging on to so many things we don’t need…that’s not me anymore! Seriously check out Marie Kondo’s ideas for “tidying” up your home.

Thanks for the recommendation, Sandie! I’ll definitely check that out. I’ve been really good at throwing things out the last few months, so that’s right up my alley right now. 🙂 *cheers*

Lynn, is it too late to post before pictures of my kitchen? And where should I post them?
Lynn Terry says
It’s not too late, Michele 🙂 I’m still working on my kitchen too! Especially with my plumbing OUT, in the worst of timing. lol. Here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/events/961574903898906/ See you there!
