Hey! I hope you’re having a GREAT weekend. I feel terrible that I haven’t written in awhile… I’ve been doing my best to “share as I go” on both Facebook and Instagram at least if you want to see a quick overview of what I’ve been eating.
To be honest it’s been a hellish couple of weeks here, and I’m glad to see the “crazy” dying back down to the usual lull of everyday life!
The stress took a serious toll on me.
From insomnia and extreme anxiety and lack of appetite, to random weight gain and a total lack of energy.
It got so bad this past week with feeling sluggish and struggling to stay awake that I saw my doctor to have both my thyroid and Vitamin D checked.
Fortunately both checked out (yay!) so I’ve simply been resting and eating good and getting myself through this phase.
I’ve been doing just that: resting, focusing on positive things, making positive changes, etc. And of course the weight starting coming right back off as soon as things calmed down a little.
It was just a few pounds of “stress weight” anyway, nothing to stress over. 😛
During the height of my anxiety I cleaned out several closets and a spare room to burn off the stress and energy (and find something to focus on besides the source of my stress!) and found people to give all those things to that could make good use of them. That felt good. 🙂
Plus I have clear spaces to work with now!
I also did a little binge-shopping online, lol.
Anyway, I’m glad to see my body (and weight) responding to the rest & recovery and I’m really looking forward to closing this year out with a SMILE!
Speaking of, we’ll be starting a new low carb challenge on January 1st to kick off the New Year…
Are you planning to join in?
I think I’m really going to mix things up this time! Maybe even try some carnivore and weights combinations. 🙂
If you’re participating in the year-end Winter Low Carb Challenge here is this week’s weigh-in thread in the group. You can weigh in there, or leave a comment here on this post with your total number of pounds lost since we started on October 29th.
We have SO much to catch up about!
I’ve been doing tons of food reviews and “ketone tests” lately on various things, one of which totally threw me out of ketosis and has me on my SIXTH prescription.
I’m still trying to nail down the cause of that! So stay tuned for details…
Another new product I did extensive ketone testing on was Lolli’s Low Carb Cookie Clusters – and that one passed with flying colors. 🙂
Plus it’s amazingly delicious! 💕
It makes GREAT cereal too!

Someone asked how much I weigh. This was my response:
I’m planning a low carb meet-up in Charlotte NC on December 29th if you’re in or near that area. I’ll put up an event page. I look forward to a fun get-together!
I’m running behind getting all the posts up of fun things I want to share with you. I’ll work on the meetup location list first…
What else are you MOST interested in seeing next?
The results of my food tests and keto/ketone experiments, a breakdown of the products in the December Keto Krate like I did for November, how I’m using the Cookie Clusters and how it fared on my blood ketone tests, a photo tour of my recent meals, my MyFitnessPal food diaries this week – or something else maybe?
Let me know. 😉
How are things going with you this week?
Don’t forget to weigh in this week!
Leave a comment and let’s chat:)
Best,
Lynn Terry,

p.s. Those cookie clusters are AMAZING! I’m going to try it in some recipes next. 😉

stress, anxiety and feeling very tired yells Adrenal Fatigue to me! I have suffered and relate. Researd it and see if it sounds right. It can get worse, I recovered through rest and certain vitamin regime, it relapsed when I started keto had to rid myself of caffeine (biggest contributor) and be diligent with salt each day.
Lynn Terry says
Hi Michele,
Do you mean it got better or worse when you went keto, and you got rid of caffeine because it contributes to Adrenal Fatigue? I’m curious about the “diligent with salt daily” part too. π
I’m quite sure mine is just LIFE Fatigue especially when life includes: harassment, threats, destruction of property, filing a missing persons report, yada yada yada. π
Resting and focusing on positive things, and the things I *can* control, has really helped. That and seeing my doctor to rule out any health issues considering it was 2+ weeks of not feeling well (for obvious reasons lol – lack of sleep, night terrors, anxiety, etc). Blood pressure was good, thyroid checked out, vitamin D levels are great – all good!
Michele says
Adrenal fatigue is complicated. I suggest researching it and see if itβs fits. Stress and caffeine are major contributors. I combated my adrenal fatigue and relapsed with Keto due to not having enough salt!!! Thatβs why I am diligent with salt. If I have caffeine more than a few days in a row I feel the anxiety returning and I also feel that brain fog tiredness. All I can say was reading your post yelled adrenal fatigue to me!!!

Having a tough time. Holidays are hard with all the goodies around.
Lynn Terry says
I understand that, Jessica. I don’t really have cravings anymore, or big family gatherings, but I still get it.
For Thanksgiving my son and his girlfriend and I all cooked together. I’m keto, she’s vegetarian and he’s carnivore – but it was actually FUN to put together a meal we could all eat and enjoy together.
The cooking together part was way more fun and fulfilling than the food itself. π

This was such a good read. Thank you! Iβll be joining the challenge. I am glad that you are getting back to feeling like your normal self. Lolliβs Granola is truly amazing!! Itβs so good as a snack and a staple ingredient for many keto treats! It has become a food group for me. Ha! Perhaps I will give the KetoKrate a try! π

Lynn Terry says
lol @ food group, Jen – it really IS amazing. I’m thinking it will be GREAT for some fun dessert recipes. π
If you get the Keto Krate, grab one this week because the December box is REALLY good, and they’re still shipping it until the 30th – or until they sell out. Enjoy!

Hi hope you feel better soon. Had some stress myself. We started a cruise December 2,December 3 my husband had a seizure. He usually follows a very lazy Keto Diet. He wen whole hog off. He takes seizure meds heβs had one other 6 months ago. Anyway he ended up the hospital on the ship. His left side was not responding so thy turned the ship around and heβd back to the Bahamas to see if he had a stroke. The cruise line provided an escort for me to take care of details. Upside no stroke excellent care. We then flew back home. We donβt like flying.. had to get a cab back to the port to get our truck 100 miles. Drove home.. heβs fine. Sticking to keto. Lost a couple pounds. I didnβt eat much tried to stick to keto but gained 3 lbs. on my way back down. I guess it was the stress I didnβt realize that could happen. So thank you for sharing. I didnβt eat much Iβm not a stress eater. All is good. Merry Christmas and happy new year. Marsha
Lynn Terry says
I hate to hear that, Marsha – geez! I’m so glad you’re both okay and made it back home safe. I tend to NOT eat when I’m stressed, and STILL gain weight. π
A keto diet is very good for epilepsy and for controlling seizures. Do you think that’s why the seizure happened, because he was eating sugar & carbs (off keto) or have you noticed any patterns with that at all?
My son was epileptic. I wish I had known then what I know now!
Marsha Kraus says
Heβs had seizures 6 months apart. Heβs had every test twice they find nothing wrong. The dr on the ship told me his blood sugar was 188. He doesnβt have sugar problems. So Iβm sure it had something todo with it
Lynn Terry says
Ack, yes – probably so. They actually use a keto diet to control seizures and epilepsy, so that would be my guess too.
Aaron says
Will have to remember Instagram as I was curious as to what you were up to. Your site has been such a treasure trove of information and guides.
Hope the stress is over and you can get back to rocking it!
Lynn Terry says
Thank you Aaron and YES, back on a roll and feeling MUCH better. π Thank you! *cheers*
