A few months ago Outer Aisle Gourmet sent me their brand new Low Carb Sandwich Thins and Pizza Crusts to try, and also set me up in their affiliate program to earn commission on referrals.
I scored you a discount code too! The code is LOWCARBTRAVELER
You can find these in local stores too, not just online. I haven’t met the minimum to get a commission payment so sometimes I earn money on my recommendations here (which is what keeps all the content here FREE for you) – and sometimes I don’t. Which is totally okay. I wanted to tell you about their products regardless because they’re GREAT, and because you might see them in a local store and wonder about them – or want creative ways to use them.

Delicious turkey & bacon sandwich above…
… Keto Breakfast Pizza below:
I got to meet the owner of OAG at the Keto Conference in June, and we really hit it off! She’s such a fun person to meet, and we had so much in common. 🙂
Her booth was super busy too. Everyone LOVED the amazing flavor, perfect texture – and the simplicity of ingredients in her cauliflower thins & crusts.
Let’s talk about that first, because there are a lot of “cauliflower products” on the market now – but you really have to watch the labels.
For example the Caulipower Paleo Grain Free Cauliflower Pizza Crusts are 14 net carbs for 1/3 of the crust! They have quite a few ingredients too.
Outer Aisle Gourmet takes pride in the simplicity of their ingredients…

Both the Sandwich Thins and the Pizza Crust only have 4 ingredients:
* Fresh Cauliflower
* Parmesan Cheese
* Eggs
* Nutritional Yeast
What is Nutritional Yeast? From Mother Nature Network: “Aside from B12, nutritional yeast is also a “complete protein,” it contains other B vitamins, is low in fat and sodium, is free of sugar and gluten, and contains iron.” –source
Fun Ways I’ve Used The Thins & Crusts So Far…
The first thing I made was a simple Tuna Melt, sprinkling cheddar on the Sandwich Thins and toasting those in the oven, then stuffing them with tuna salad.
That was delicious! 🙂
The next thing I made was an amazing Keto Breakfast Pizza on the Cauliflower Crust.
It was super simple to make, and SO good.
I had some tomato & spinach leftover from a turkey spinach wrap I ordered from a local bistro. I used the turkey to make a quick sandwich with the Cauliflower Thins – then I used the spinach & mozzarella & tomato from my wrap plus some leftover bacon, to make a breakfast pizza on the Cauliflower Crust.
This is blurry, but it’s what it looked like BEFORE it went in the oven:
I used just a bit of Chunky Salsa between the crust & toppings too. 🙂
Normally I prefer NO sauce, but that was pretty good! If I do use sauce, I only like Organico Bello Marinara – which is very low carb but still amazingly delicious.
Here’s the awesome turkey sandwich I made, btw:
Anyway, then I cracked an egg on top of the breakfast pizza, and baked it until the cheese was melted and the egg was cooked.
Talk about an EASY low carb meal, made out of all leftovers and an egg lol, but it was SO good and very filling. 🙂
I could only eat about half that pizza as a meal, so I ended up with THREE great meals out of a single “turkey spinach wrap, without the wrap” – which were all much better than just eating turkey and spinach. 🙂
The thins and crust both have a great texture, and hold up well as something you can eat with your hands.
They also have a nice savory flavor, but it’s very mild. Perfect actually.
They’re VERY good!
One of the great things about the Sandwich Thins that I learned from the owner when we met, is that they don’t have to be refrigerated for up to FIVE days – which means you can take them with you on the go.
You can use them for messy bunless burgers or easily make quick low carb wrap out of pretty much anything – on a road trip, while camping, at work, you name it!
I love that. 🙂
Next I made a more traditional pepperoni pizza – low carb style, of course!
Remember the Super Snack Time Pizza Jerky I mentioned awhile back?
I hosted a giveaway for it back in June when it first hit Wal-Mart stores. You can order it online too, and I scored us a coupon code: use LOWCARBTRAVELER at checkout for our discount. 😉
It’s super tender, HUGE, a perfect cross between sweet & spicy, and not at all like pepperoni OR jerky to me – meaning it’s not tough at all.
I had some on hand from doing the giveaway of course, and I don’t really snack much – so I thought:
Bingo! I’ll use it to make a low carb pizza. 🙂
That made for a GREAT combination! 🙂
The pizza jerky is just as good cooked, still super tender, and the sweet & spicy combo made a GREAT pizza!
You can find both products in local stores, or you can order them online. See:

Pizza is good and nice, but I have to say it’s GREAT to have a super quick low carb sandwich out of pretty much anything without having to cook – other than to toast the Thins, because I love them toasted. 🙂
I just pop them in the toaster. I like simple!
But of course the breakfast pizza, with the egg fried right on top, was probably the most creative thing I made out of a bunch of leftovers. 🙂
I would say it was also the prettiest AND the most delicious. Tons of flavors all combined into a beautiful breakfast!
I have YET to get a good picture of the Pepperoni Jerky. Some of these things are just NOT photogenic lol, and you can never capture texture & flavor in a picture!
Have you tried it yet??
Whether you got it online or found it at Wal-Mart, if you’ve tried any of the flavors I would love to hear what YOU think.

I was asked to review both products, and they’re both a winner in my book. You can click either link above to see the nutrition facts & ingredients, and to see all three flavors of the pizza jerky.
The breakfast pizza was fun & delicious!
Of course you can always make a skillet pizza, or make your own low carb dough. The “fat head dough” is really popular so that should be easy to find on Google or Pinterest.
But I figured since you’ll be seeing these two products in local stores more and more… I’d give you my opinion on them, and how I’ve used them so far. 🙂
Since I still have one crust left, and some pepperoni jerky – next I think I’ll make a fried egg & pepperoni pizza. For some reason that sounds SO good right now…

How much is shipping & handling cost? I really cannot trust a company that makes you fill in name, addres, and payment method before allowing you to see the s&h
Lynn Terry says
I can’t find anything in their FAQ about shipping costs, but I think that’s because it’s based on your location. It doesn’t charge you until you confirm at checkout, so you can use PayPal even and review the entire order before making a decision.

My husband and I received a Sizzler gift card so we got steak and lobster I had asparagus as my side, is this o.k. on Keto? also wondering what I should do concerning my knee’s and back pain? I believe it cause is arthritis, at least that’s what the Doctors tell me. I have been doing Keto for about a month and a half. was hoping keto would have helped by now. almost feels worst. any idea’s?
Sincerely yours,
Doris

Hi Doris,
Of course – meat and greens + healthy fats is what you want to eat. π You want to do 20 net carbs max and 70% fat minimum as your daily goal.
How are you tracking, and are you actually IN ketosis? If you’re doing the 20/70 and in ketosis, that will really help with the pain & inflammation. Carbs promote inflammation in the body, so going super low carb can have amazing effects on chronic pain issues.
I will say though, my great dane is really suffering this year with our strange weather patterns – back/hip pain, just age. But we had an unusually cold winter and unusually wet summer, so there’s that to consider as well, depending on where you live.

The ingredients in the snack time pizza jerk are horrible. I would never eat that stuff
Lynn Terry says
Any kind of processed pork, even breakfast sausage, is “gross food” in my book – but it’s delicious. π
I consider what I used to eat, and how much of it, and my one little ounce of pepperoni or my sausage patties with breakfast sometimes are really not that bad in comparison, lol.
But yeah – salami, pepperoni, sausage, you name it: pretty gross. Pederson’s Farms makes great sausages though, breakfast sausage and kielbasa, it’s amazingly delicious too – without all of those ingredients. Look them up! π

As fat as carbs. go I pretty much know what to stay away from because I have followed Atkins 3 or 4 times. and lost weight every time. I have been loosing on Keto also but it’s my pain that I really what to get rid of. I am wondering if there would be a big difference between total carbs and net carbs. I always did better on total carbs with Atkins because it seemed like I alway stalled with net carbs. but that leaves me with so little options to eat. mostly eggs and bacon for breakfast and for lunch/dinner meat and a small salad. no low carb anything else. and I was really hoping that after dropping over 60lbs. at least my knees would be out of pain. I am very sad that I still have pain.
Lynn Terry says
Have you talked to your doctor about the pain?
If it were me, this is what I would try…
Start tracking, this will help: https://www.travelinglowcarb.com/7006/macronutrients/ Do 30 Total Carbs (instead of 20 Net Carbs) and do at least 70% fat minimum.
There isn’t that big a difference between Total and Net carbs, unless you’re eating candy or processed products. Use your 30 Total Carbs to add in small amounts of blueberries & raspberries (I eat 18 grams as a serving), 4 small strawberries, and otherwise green vegetables.
The big key is in the 70% or more in healthy fats, which is your source of energy and also what prompts your body to burn it’s old body fat. I like pecans, salmon, eggs, avocado, for dairy: real cheese (block), real butter, heavy cream, etc.
Have you ever tested to see if you’re in Ketosis?
Eve Heaton says
What aisle do you find the pizza jerky in at Walmart?
Lynn Terry says
