Yesterday I got in a good home workout for gluteus & arms, and today Iโm off for an adventurous hike!
Iโm in middle Tennessee which means Iโm in the totality zone for the solar eclipse today, so I thought Iโd hike through a river to the PERFECT spot to enjoy it. ๐
Before I head out, I wanted to share my low carb food diaries with you from the past week, since my last 2 Day Food Diary I shared on Tuesdayโฆ
My Low Carb Meals on Wednesday
For breakfast I had a delicious Keto Brownie with raw pecan halves. I got this in one of my recent keto boxes, and itโs SO delicious!!
I talked to the owner of the company and scored us a coupon code for single box orders: use TRAVELBROWNIE for 15% off. ๐
For lunch I had my leftovers from dinner out at OโCharleyโs the night before. It was salmon on a bit of caesar salad with steamed broccoli:
My dinner was take-out: smothered grilled chicken and steamed broccoli with a garden salad from Applebeeโs Carside-to-Go. This is the Fiesta Lime Chicken with no tortilla strips and no rice, with broccoli instead.
Delicious! I couldnโt eat it all, so I logged what I did eatโฆ
Hereโs my MyFitnessPal Food Diary for Wednesday:
My Low Carb Meals on Thursday
For breakfast I had my favorite โlow carb cerealโ of pecan pieces (60 grams/half cup), 1/4 cup Daisy brand cottage cheese and 4 small strawberries:
I ate my leftover chicken & broccoli for lunch, from Applebeeโs the night before:
And for dinner I finished the side salad and added 2 servings of Spicy Chili Pili Nuts to it, to make it a filling meal. ๐ (We have a coupon code for those too: LOWCARBTRAVELER)
I also ate the BHU Primal Salted Caramel Pecan Bar I got in The Keto Box earlier this week. That was DELICIOUS! Very tasty, with a nice chewy texture and the crunch of real pecans. Yum!
Hereโs my MyFitnessPal Food Diary for Thursday:
My Low Carb Meals on Friday
For breakfast I had an easy combination of kosher cream cheese, fresh strawberries & raw pecan halves:
I made tuna salad for lunch with: tuna, mayo, mustard & dill relish (simple!) and had that with the Spinach Biscuits I had made up in the refrigerator:
Hereโs the Low Carb Spinach Biscuits Recipe. ๐ Theyโre SO good!
I also ate the LOCA Chocolate Chip Low Carb Cookie I got in my Keto Krate the other day.
It was VERY crumbly, but really good โ although it did have that โcooling effectโ from the erythritol and a slight aftertaste. But definitely a very โreal likeโ cookie!
Hereโs my MyFitnessPal Food Diary for Friday:
My Low Carb Meals on Saturday
On Saturday I had my favorite โlow carb cerealโโฆ twice, lol.
I ate it for both breakfast AND dinner.
For lunch I made bacon & eggs. ๐
Hereโs my MyFitnessPal Food Diary for Saturday:
My Low Carb Meals on Sunday
I didnโt eat much on Sundayโฆ but the huge platter of โbacon, egg & cheese scrambleโ I made actually ended up being two meals for me.
Other than that, I ate another Keto Brownie. ๐
Hereโs my MyFitnessPal Food Diary for Sunday:
ย
Thatโs five full days of Ideal LCHF Macros and super easy low carb meals.
My goal: 20 net carbs max, 70% fat minimum โ and as little cooking as I can get away with! ๐ lolโฆ
Oh, and I got another fun package in the mail this week.
I ordered the KZ Chunky Musli again. ๐ This stuff is amazing!! You can eat it like cereal, or I really love to make a Trail Mix with it.
ย
Iโm off to get some exercise and experience the solar eclipse. ๐
My goal today: SWEAT!
Iโll probably do a little swimming too.;)
How are things going with you?
I would LOVE to hear how things are going on your end. What are you struggling with, how is your weight loss going โ any questions?

Hi Lynn,
This is my first time writing to you. I did low carb for awhile and lost 40lbs but have gotten off of it recently and iโm having problems getting back into it. Iโve been following you for several months and I finally signed up to receive the keto crate starting next month. Iโm very excited about that.
In looking at what you eat in a day it really doesnโt look like you eat much. How do you keep from being hungry? Maybe itโs because Iโm not used to eating the way you do but I think I would be starving on what you eat in a day. Do you have any tips, suggestions, words of wisdom?
Thank you,
Victoria
BTW- Iโm also in middle Tennessee
Hi Victoria ๐
Do you mean calorie-wise or portion-wise? One thing is that being in ketosis for so long, you have MUCH less appetite. I eat WAY less than I did before I went low carb โ so thereโs that.
Also, I tend to eat smaller meals more frequently, spread out through the day. So the huge plate of bacon, eggs & cheese I made โ was two very filling meals for me.
Other than Sunday, the other four days I had 1600-1800 calories a day, so Iโm definitely getting plenty and not going hungry. ๐ Although being in Middle Tennessee yourself, you know how HOT itโs been hereโฆ which plays a part in my appetite too. Itโs just too hot to eat heavy. ๐
Youโll also notice I eat 70-80% fat, and eating high fat tends to satisfy you quicker and longer. ๐
Hi Lynn,
I was referring to portion size. Iโm sure itโs what you get used to and I know if I could just buckle down and get myself back into ketosis I probably wouldnโt feel so hungry.
I really enjoy that your food is simple and not a bunch of crazy ingredients thatโs difficult to find. Thank you for your response.
Yes, definitely. I used to eat HUGE portions, but eating low carb is a natural appetite suppressant and youโll find you eat MUCH less โ and get full quicker. ๐
I also havenโt had much of an appetite lately. I keep thinking itโs because of the heat and my allergies, but Iโm also feeling a little down too โ so that may be part of it.
Still, Iโm getting plenty of calories and trying to eat smart (good quality food choices), so I tend to just listen to my body and eat when Iโm hungry โ and not force it.
Simple is good! ๐ I like easy, and also โ the more simple your meals and food choices, the better. Both for digestion, health AND weight loss.
I have yet to figure out how to get the chart/summary to show up like that in myfitnesspal. I successfully added the fibre to my list and I can go to โnutitionโ and see my macros or nutrients but it doesnโt factor the fibre in, for example, nor does the chart look like yours. Are you using the upgrade?
Hi Pam,
No, I use the free version of MyFitnessPal and a free plugin. This is how I have mine set up: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/4448/myfitnesspal-hack/
It sounds like you are using the mobile version (the app). The plugin doesnโt work on the app, only online in firefox or chrome browsers โ so that may be the issue?
I totally get the carbs- fiber equation =<20 carbs per day. But if I am reading the food journal right, the carbs look like they are negative (more fiber grams eaten than carbs). My question is, this is oermissible and won't stall weight loss?
Ugggh, just saw it was NET carbs I was readingโฆ so the app had figured it out for you already
Ah yes, I have it set up to calculate net carbs (subtract the fiber) for me. ๐ This is how I have it set up to do that: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/4448/myfitnesspal-hack/
Enjoy the Solar Eclipse hike. Looking forward to your photos. Thank you for your emails. I really enjoy reading them.
Lynn, my husband and I are flying into Nashville later this week from the Chicago area. My 1st time there. Any suggestions on what to see while we are there?
Thank you, Vickie ๐
Hmm, I donโt go into the city much (Nashville), but I do love the Ryman Auditorium. Catch a show there if you can! Otherwise downtown is hopping and FULL of fun city life and places to see / things to do. I bet there are some great โthings to doโ lists on Google!
If you venture outside the city, there are all kinds of beautiful things to see within a 90 minute drive. Burgess Falls is not far off the interstate, and a gorgeous day hike with multiple waterfalls.
I want to thank you for taking the time to show us what you eat. I really like how you eat out a lot and stay low carb. That was always an excuse for me to slip. With your posts, I know itโs possible to stay on a LCHF diet and also to journal the food. Thanks vor the inspiration.
Thank you, Linda. ๐ Iโm really glad that it inspires you and gives you some new ideas to consider. Thatโs what I love most about eating low carb. Itโs SO easy, no matter where you are or whatโs going on in your life.
I enjoy it most when Iโm eating out, at social events, or traveling โ simply because there are so many fun new low carb foods and combinations to discover along the way. I see it kind of like a โgameโ and have FUN with it while Iโm out & about. ๐
Thank you for your recommendation on the Good Deeโs Low Carb Brownie Mixโฆ I ordered it from Netrition using your link ๐ and made them as you suggested with pecans & peanut butter โฆ YUMM!! Perfect for those โgotta hv brownieโ times during the month โค๏ธ
My question is โฆ. how does the Keto Brownie above compare? I really really hate cooking. Barely survive making my low-carb sausage biscuits & other simple meal preps. I really am an โon-the-goโ eater. But the Good Deeโs are worth the baking. Would the Keto Brownie above be a replacement for the Good Deeโs?
Thank you for all that you do. I know itโs a lot of work but you really are helping make this lifestyle change much more accommodating for folks like me. I also make sure to support you through your links & using your promo codesโฆ just ordered some Pili nuts tonight thru your link & promo code. I hope that you get some sort of credit for these referrals! I do truly appreciate all that you do to help me live a healthier lifestyle. Now I hv to do my part & stay committed and on track
Iโm so glad you enjoyed Deeโs brownie mix, and my special recipe for them. Delicious arenโt they?! I havenโt met anyone yet that didnโt LOVE them. ๐
Youโll really enjoy the Pili Nuts too. I especially like to cook with them โ sautรฉed with broccoli slaw, cauliflower rice, etc. And yes, I do get credit for some things I share here (not all), so THANK YOU for using my links & codes! ๐
I really appreciate the support. It is a lot of work yes, but a labor of love I really ENJOY. Especially when I hear so many amazing success stories!
Good question on the Keto Brownie. Itโs more of a nutrition bar, while Deeโs mix (easy to cook/make, thankfully! lol) is definitely a โbrownieโ โ a fudgy, fresh baked, dessert.
I love the Keto Brownie bars because they are a great on-the-go snack. Not too sweet, no sugar alcohols, great rich cocoa flavor. And something you can grab & enjoy that actually has good quality ingredients.
I wouldnโt say they compare really. Theyโre two totally different things. But I do love them both! ๐
I havenโt seen any info on raw vs roasted nuts in regards to keto. Iโve noticed you eat raw pecans. is there a keto reason you eat raw nuts or do you just prefer the taste? Iโm asking because I prefer roasted and Iโm worried that I could be sabotaging my progress due to the types of oils used in the rising process? Thanks for all you do!
That should say roasting not rising. Sorry.
Hi Brenda ๐
I love roasted nuts. I buy them that way sometimes, and receive them in my Keto Krate sometimes too โ which are great! Iโve even roasted my own in real butter and cinnamon, which tastes delicious.
I donโt think thereโs any real difference or any concern.
When you said โsabotaging my progressโ though, it made me wonder if youโre not losing weight or having a problem with that? If so, how are you tracking and what are you usual fat/protein macros? Letโs figure out the culprit! ๐
