The Spring Low Carb Challenge just kicked off this month. You can still join us if you haven’t already! 🙂
You can get all the details at that link, or on the low carb challenge page.
Today is our Week Two Weigh In, so it’s time to share your total number of pounds and/or inches lost since Monday April 3rd!;)
I mentioned in my last post about Powering Through that I’m really struggling with getting back in ketosis after a round of medications.
I’ve been analyzing my stats – sleep, water, macros etc – and looking at where I can make improvements, or what I can try, that will improve my overall health & well being.
That’s the key of course. 😉
Our goal here is to become the happiest, healthiest versions of ourselves!
I didn’t realize how little I was sleeping, how much I’ve been relying on nuts & cheese through a nonstop chaotic schedule, and of course all the strenuous exercise requires a recovery period too – so there are lots of factors going on.
It really pays to track your food, sleep & exercise so you can get a good overview of how you’re doing across the board.
I use MyFitnessPal to track my meals & macros, and have it synced to My Fitbit – which tracks my heart rate, sleep quality & exercise / calorie burn.
And I track everything. 😉
I’ll let you knkow what I discover & decide going forward, and of course have some new food diaries to share with you from all my meals over the last week. 🙂 Plus something new I discovered that really surprised me! Stay tuned for that…
I also need to weigh in myself. I didn’t get to this morning until a couple hours after I got up, so I’m not sure what my weight is yet this week – I’ll get it tomorrow.
I did get to help my friend move last night though, so I got LOTS of exercise and heavy lifting in yesterday. 😉 Yay!
Wherever you are on your own health & weight loss journey… we’re all in this together. Whether you have more than 100 pounds to lose, you’re currently in maintenance mode, you’re just getting started and still figuring it all out, or you’re struggling through a plateau – I’ll be right here with you every step of the way!
How are things going for you?
Don’t forget to weigh in, either here (just leave a comment below) or weigh-in in our private facebook group here.
Are you feeling MOTIVATED and excited about reaching your goals?!

Hi Lynn,
Weighing in at 169.5. Down 4.5lbs from last week. Looking to loose another 4 lbs this week.
TT
Congrats! Keep in mind that you often experience a “hold” or even slight fluctuations on the scale during week 2 and/or week 3. That’s just your body adjusting to the initial weight loss.
So don’t get goals in your head. Just “eat healthy” and stay on track, and let your body adjust and lose naturally on it’s own terms. π
Hi Lynn!
I just got back from a 2 week Mexican vacation and proud to say that even though I fell off track I maintained at 141.8 The same exact way from the day I left! Time to get back on board!!
Kudos & Welcome Back! π
Lynn, about two weeks ago after getting back I jumped right back in to the Keto lifestyle, i’ve been doing anywhere between 30 to 45 minutes of yoga daily keeping my calories right around 1250 carbs below 20 protein at 40 fats between 96 and 110 I was getting discouraged but lo and behold I got on the scales today and it’s 135!!! Thank you to everybody on this blog and especially you! I don’t believe I would’ve had motivation had I not had all of you, five pesky pounds to go π
Awesome, Michelle! π Yay!
Tip: Go by ratios/percentages instead of grams. The reason is because some proteins are also fats. You want to do 20 net carbs max, 70% fat minimum, and no more than 25% protein.
This is a great explanation & simple illustration: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/7006/macronutrients/
I am really struggling! Ive gained all but 7 lbs Of the 30 lbs I lost last year! I need to figure out where my motivation is going to come from…I know good health should be a constant motivator but it is not for me right now. Kind of an emotional mess because of a long distance relationship that’s not going anywhere and I’m a stress eater! Ugh! any help you can give would be much appreciated! I love reading your emails! So raw and honest! Thanks Lynn!
Hi Joanne π If there’s one thing I’ve discovered myself… it’s that unhealthy relationships equal a unhealthy lifestyle. And not just romantic relationships, but ALL toxic friendships and relationships in our lives.
If it’s not going anywhere, and you’re not getting anywhere with your own life and goals, I say it’s high time for some positive change in your life! π YOU are what is most important. *hugs*
(you might be surprised to discover how much RELIEF there is to letting go of something you THINK you can’t live without)
So I’ll be honest. I haven’the even remotely stuck to this. Not even a little. I just finished off some of my kids easter candy to make matters worse. Ughh. I’m starting back in the morning. One meal and snack at a time.
You got this! Today is a new day! I know you’re struggle all too well, but with that being said, stick to your plan of starting over TODAY
Hi Brittany π Just checking in to see how things are going now?? I hope you’re back on track still and feeling GREAT!
I had friends and family in town so I went out three times in a week. I stuck to low carb foods, had a couple of glasses of dry white wine, and I’m up 3# from last week. So frustrating to make good choices and not have good results! I think drinking is going to be a no more than one every couple of weeks deal for me. (Cue sad music)
Just started my Keto journey April 5th. Started in at 261 pounds, down to 249 pounds as of today April 18th (13 days). 12 pounds in 13 days! I have major arthritis issues in every joint in my body that restrict my excercise to non high impact, but I do dance, walk and have a work out routine I do each morning to build cardio as well as help strengthen. It wasn’t helping to shed any pounds even after a year of doing all of that- until a friend told me about Keto. Loving it!
Been doing Keto for awhile, my body is slow to lose, but I do lose gradually with the 20g of carbs. Finding I need to lower the protein to fat ratio if I’m going to see better results. Been intermittent fasting occasionally because I forget to eat, Keto keeps me from getting hungry. Down 1.5lbs from last week.
