The Spring Low Carb Challenge just kicked off. 🙂 You can join in anytime!

The last two days have been a busy whirlwind between a long road trip and a busy work schedule and a social outing.
I haven’t had time to cook at all, so here’s what I ate…
Wednesday’s Low Carb Meals
I was on the road all day driving to Birmingham and back, and it was a quick round trip so I just grabbed a bite on the go. Starting with a plain low carb (lettuce wrapped) cheeseburger from Hardee’s.
I ordered it plain with cheese so it wouldn’t be so messy while I was driving:
Somewhere around Trenton, GA I stopped for gas and there was a Hardee’s right there so I just grabbed another low carb burger.
This time I got a low carb style Frisco Burger, which was seriously messy lol – so I ate it real quick before I got back on the road.
I had five coffees that day too, each with a TBSP of Coffee-Mate Sugar Free Hazelnut Powdered Creamer. I had one before I left home, took two with me in my Contigo Travel Mugs, grabbed one on the road (I take my powdered creamer with me), and had a coffee when I got home. I was too road weary to eat again that evening and went to bed early… ending the day with too few calories.

Thursday’s Low Carb Meals
I had a full work day on Thursday, so I grabbed some quick low carb foods to eat at my desk so I could get straight to work.
I had an ounce of almonds, an ounce of Pili Nuts and a mozzarella string cheese.
Pili Nuts are AMAZING. You can read up on them here: EatPiliNuts.com. If you decide to order some, be sure to use coupon code LOWCARBTRAVELER (all caps) for a special discount.;)
For lunch I ate some dry pork ribs (no sauce) from Prater’s BBQ that a friend had brought over the night before. That made a quick & easy lunch! 🙂
I went out last night to a small pub. I hadn’t been there before, but they had a typical pub menu – so I just ordered a cheeseburger “no bun, please” with ranch and mayo on the side (and no sides).
Beers were two-for-one 🙂 so I drank FOUR Michelob Ultra beers at 2.6 carbs per 12oz bottle. Way past my limit, lol. I did a lot of dancing and had a great time though!

Even though I was in the car all day Wednesday… I still managed to get in some good CARdio. 🙂 I turned up my favorite tunes and danced, focusing on my core and inner thighs. When you can break a sweat and end up with sore ab muscles while driving, those Fitbit “steps” really count! lol
So there you have it. No excuses. 🙂
Whether you’re on the road all day, socializing at a pub, out dancing with friends, or too busy to cook or make breakfast – staying on track is EASY.;)
How are things going on your end?
I would love to hear about YOUR week!

Hi Lyn
You did great. I really admire you commitment to low carb even when at a pub. Your carb count was still pretty low despite the four ultra beers. π
I am looking in to buying some low carb wines. There is one called Dry Farms Wine and A Proseco by Christie Brinkley that she advertises. Wine is my drink of choice. These low sugar Wines are expensive and i cannot find them locally so id have to order online
Of course if i have to do that i would drink it only on special occasions. Lol. I wish i had a taste for beer but i just cannot get past the beer taste. π
My fitness tracker only counts my actual steps taken. It is a Smart watch. How is your exercise in the car tracked as steps? I was just wondering. π

I enjoy wine sometimes. π My favorite is White Zinfandel, which is 1 carb per ounce. That adds up quick at 4 carbs per 4 ounce glass – so I definitely I have to allow for it, and SIP it. (lol)
I usually only drink beer if I’m out dancing, or if I’m on the boat in the summer. That’s about the only time I enjoy it. Of course I drink rarely, and not a lot when I do…
I actually TAKE steps while doing my “CARdio” lol. Especially on the interstate on cruise control. A lot of walking in place type movement, but I do get in a good cardio workout dancing even while driving. π
My Fitbit won’t track just arm movement. I’ve tested that. It will only track actual “steps” or exercise.
