Here is my Low Carb Food Diary for Day 86 of the “Get Lean For Summer!” 90 Day Low Carb Challenge. Note: I haven’t set a start date for the next 90 Day Low Carb Challenge yet, but the group stays open & active year round.
I’ll probably host a FUN mini-challenge in July, so join in and stay tuned…
I had a FULL day of errands yesterday which had me on the road from 9am to 4pm, so breakfast and lunch were both low carb fast food.
My very last errand was to stock up on a few staples at the grocery store, so I’ll share the low carb foods I picked up there as well.
Day 86: Tuesday’s Low Carb Meals
I had a full morning before I headed out so I just had coffee at home, then grabbed breakfast on the road. I stopped through McDonald’s and ordered a “Sausage Egg McMuffin with double sausage, double egg” – then just ditched the muffin.
When I finally got to stop again, I ran through Hardee’s and got a Low Carb Thickburger. Those are on the menu, but I order mine “plain with cheese, mayo & tomato” – because otherwise it comes with ketchup and all sorts of other stuff. 😛
Usually if I’m driving I’ll just order it plain w/cheese so it’s less messy…
Finally home and stocked up on pecans again (yay! lol) I had my favorite “Low Carb Cereal” for dinner. It was 1/2 cup pecans, 1/4 cup Daisy brand cottage cheese, 2 strawberries and 1/8 cup (17.5 grams) of blueberries.
That came to 6 net carbs and 85% healthy fats.
I love this meal of pecans, berries & cottage cheese!
It’s such a nice crunchy/sweet combo of healthy low carb foods! Not only is it packed full of great nutrition, it has GREAT macros.
Here’s My MyFitnessPal Diary for Tuesday:
Tracking Macronutrients (Simple Explanation of Macros)
How To Get Net Carbs in MyFitnessPal
Calories: 1287
Net Carbs: 13
Total Carbs: 20
Protein: 63 Grams
80% Fat, 16% Protein
Water: 48 ounces
I did get some exercise yesterday. Almost 5,000 steps on my Fitbit from dancing – goofy dancing 🙂 where I focused on my core and arms.
Here’s what I grabbed at the store while I was out yesterday: pork chops, pecans, spinach, green beans, Daisy brand cottage cheese, blueberries, strawberries, eggs, sausage, sliced turkey, coffee, bottled water, pork skins and cream cheese:
Most of those low carb groceries are just my usual low carb staples. I’m shopping (and cooking) for one, so I can probably eat on all that for a good week or so!
I’m heading back to Lost Creek Falls today to do a little exploring, and to see if there really IS a (third) cave at the top of that waterfall! 🙂
I expect to get in a great workout of hiking and rock climbing today, with plenty of water to cool off in of course. 🙂
I’ll post pictures today on Facebook and Instagram if you want to follow along!
How are things going for you?
Are you still eating low carb and seeing great results, and have you been incorporating exercise into your goals? I look forward to hearing from you!

Good morning Lynn. I really enjoy your site. I wanted to know what brand of pecans you use and where do you shop.
Lynn Terry says
Thank you Susan π Usually just a little locally owned grocery in the historic downtown district (I like to shop local). The pecans are just Best Choice (a store brand). You want to look at the labels as some have different carb counts for some crazy reason. The pecans I get are 1 net carb for 1/4 cup serving.

Thanks for sharing all of your information. I still struggle with eating out and the drive thru’s. You have given me some really good ideas. Thank you…Vera
Lynn Terry says
I’m glad, Vera! I eat out A LOT, either fast food on the go, take-out from restaurants, or various places on my travels… so you should pick up plenty of great ideas here. π

You showed up on my popular page on Instagram today and I am HOOKED! I am starting to transition to this lifestyle and you have given me soooo many great ideas! That low-carb cereal – those are some of my favorite things! I can’t wait to try it! I am still learning the planning aspect and have been below my macros each day but you’ve given em some great ideas! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!
Lynn Terry says
Welcome Kristyn π I’m glad you’re finding some creative ideas! I like to keep it super simple, and often eat on the go – or just do easy foods here at home.
Keep it simple to start: 20 net carbs max, 70% fat minimum. You’ll do great! Just don’t over-complicate it. π
Rachel says
You can order sausage and egg (and cheese if you’d like) ala cart! It’s cheaper that way!
CONNIE GENOW says
Lynn, you can order just 2 round eggs and 2 sausage patties at McDonald’s, it cost a lot less that way,
Lynn Terry says
I’ll keep that in mind, thanks! π Some days, depending on the person I get at the drive thru, I don’t want to complicate the process – lol. You can usually tell pretty quick whether you want to fool with a hassle or not. π
