I had a higher carb day yesterday. It happened in a pinch, but I still pulled off a decent day – and got in some decent exercise again too. 🙂
I’m still below 150 pounds. Every morning when I step on the scale that surprises me, lol. Of course when you weigh daily you see slight fluctuations.
This morning I weigh 149.8 pounds.
I’m actually glad considering what I ate at dinner last night. 😛
I was thinking back over the last 5 years, and how long it’s taken me to get to this point. I don’t want to take as long getting in great shape (toning up). I know I can do this in short time if I get SERIOUS about it, and that’s what I’m working on right now.
Here is my Low Carb Food Diary for Day 23 of the “Get Lean For Summer!” 90 Day Low Carb Challenge. It’s not too late to join us if you haven’t already! 🙂
Day 23: Tuesday’s Low Carb Meals
I had my usual low carb cereal, and this is what it looks like already stirred together. It was 1/4 cup pecans, 1/4 cup Daisy brand cottage cheese, 4 small diced strawberries & a Peanut Butter Granola Atkins bar (chopped up). 7 net carbs and 72% fat.
It may not look pretty, but it tastes so good!
For lunch I just heated up leftovers: Smoked sausage, kraut, broccoli & cauliflower.
I was hungry in the afternoon, but busy – and torn on what to eat. I’m tired of sausage and eggs, I didn’t really want the same thing I had for lunch, I thought about just getting a low carb burger… blah blah blah, lol.
Just as I was running through the list of options, some friends called to come over and hang out. They were swinging through Wendy’s on the way, so I got a small chili. It’s 15 net carbs, so higher than I would normally eat – but still relatively low carb.
That hit the spot. 🙂 It would have been ideal to get a big burger and make a “burger salad” out of it, but asking for a lettuce wrap or a special order over a super quick phone call just felt like a hassle – so I went with the chili.
Here’s My MyFitnessPal Diary for Tuesday:
Macronutrients: How & What I Track
How I Get Net Carbs in MyFitnessPal
Calories: 1022
Net Carbs: 35
Total Carbs: 47
Protein: 50 Grams
63% Fat, 22% Protein
Exercise: Ab Carver Pro, 60 Reps
& Brisk Walk (almost 2 miles)
FitBit Steps: 6,920
Water: 48 ounces
Doing my Ab Carver Pro two days in a row made me realize I do indeed have abs, lol. They are in there somewhere, because they are sore! 😛 I did just 60 reps (not wanting to push it) which was 20 to the front, and 20 to each side.
I also got in a nice brisk walk with my great dane around mid-morning. Here’s a picture of us taking a quick water break. It was already HOT by the time we got out.
How are things going with you?
Leave a comment below, and let’s do this together. 🙂

Hi Lynn,
Keep these posts coming!! It is my motivation. I am in the exact same place you are. I have been fighting to stay in the 140’s for almost a year now. Up & down!! Currently, I am at 147.8. Started LC with your 90 day challenge 2 years ago now. Total weight lost 45 lbs. Never felt better. Love this WOE. Thanks for your continued inspiration!!!
Amy
Wow Amy, congrats! 45 pounds is A LOT, I know because that’s close to what I’ve lost. But it took me a lot longer. 😛 Kudos!! And thank you for your kind words – your note really made my day. 🙂 🙂
I’m so happy I found you!! Your motivation is exactly what I need. I love how you post pictures of what you eat and especially how you provide the numbers for us. Please don’t stop. Thanks you…..
Betty
Thank you, Betty. 🙂 It’s fun to have a group to do this with. It’s entirely too hard to do it on your own. I appreciate all of you being here – so much. 🙂
Hi Lynn. I just wanted to really thank you for all your inspiring posts and your honesty. I look forward to reading about your journey every morning.
I’ve sent you a private message on Messenger. I had written to you earlier there which you hadn’t seen right away but you did answer. If you could take a look at it I would much appreciate it. I’ve been eating low carb for 2 years but I started to gain back the 28 lbs I had lost with no change in my eating habits. Anyway I’m having a hard time now with surprising results.
Thank you in advance. You are a beautiful woman inside and out and I hope you realize how many people you help and inspire. Love Jodi
Thank you so much, Jodi. 🙂 How are you tracking, and what are you usual fat/protein ratios? Start by checking these 4 points: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/5093/not-losing-weight-eating-low-carb/ and let me know how I can help.
The first things I ditch are: shakes, bars, cheese, cream cheese, nuts & any processed meats or foods. Go down to the simplest real foods, with 3 ingredients per plate or meal max. Try that for two weeks. 🙂
Here are some 3IMAX meal examples: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/6064/3-ingredients-rule/
Ugh that cereal looks so good. Dang you cottage cheese lol. So it was quite warm here in Virginia yesterday….I mean 85 degrees warm so I got out with my two youngest and we had a great time running around the park and going up and down slides (it was also pretty funny to see the 1yr old try this for the first time). With it being warm it’s also a huge help with dinner because my hubby (who is also on LC with me) cooks on the grill. Mmmm grilled food is my fav :-). It felt great to be out in the sun with my babies and actually enjoy myself without the tugging and pulling at my clothes.
So yesterday’s meals were pretty simple but oh so yummy.
B: bpc, 2 fried eggs, 2 pieces of bacon
L: Sliced ham and mozzarella cheese roll up w/1 baby dill pickle, bbq pork rinds
D: 2 sliders w/o bun (burger, colby jack cheese, mustard), stuffed mushrooms (button mushrooms, cream cheese, breakfast sausage) YUMMMMMY. I’ve been making these for years and I love them more and more every time I eat them.
S: sf iced coffee (coffee, ice, sf davinci vanilla syrup, hwc)
I had 17 net carbs, 75% fat and drank about 40oz of water.
Another great day, Justine! It’s been in the mid-80’s here too and I am really enjoying getting out in the sun as well. So nice. 🙂 Those mushrooms sound DELICIOUS… yum!
Oh they are delicious. I made them so much when me and my husband got together that I had to take a break from them. Lol. But after having them again man do I miss them.
They’re just whole white button mushrooms, 1lb breakfast sausage (in the roll), 8oz cream cheese. You remove the stems from the mushrooms and with a small knife make the hole a tad bit bigger. Cook the entire lb of sausage, drain, season. Add the cream cheese to the sausage and mix. Then stuff the mushrooms with the cream cheese mixture and bake on 350 for about 20 mins….and try not to drool while eating them. Lol
I’m so making those this weekend. 🙂 🙂
Hi Lyn
I say that you still had a good day with you meals albeit the higher carb count
Your calorie count was still very low. You did good with your choice of Wendy’s chili
I love their Chili. It has less beans than other Chili and more meat and the consistency is more watery like soup from my experience
If you have to pick a higher carb item, then slow carbs is the only way to go. beans are slow carbs and high in fiber
You got a lot of excercise in so that helped a lot.
I am impressed that you had nothing b to eat after your Chile……you did good. 🙂
I was impressed with that too, Gigi. 😛 haha. Some nights I am just too tired to worry with food or snacks, which is a good thing. And I agree – not a bad day overall! *cheers*
