My weight has been fluctuating slightly this week:
Wednesday: 151
Thursday: 152.8
Friday: 151.6
Saturday: 151.8
That’s totally normal by the way, even when you’re eating pretty much the same. In my case, I’m guessing stress is the culprit. That and I haven’t been sleeping great, which also affects weight loss. I’ve been really stressed all week, to the point of having a a seriously upset stomach on Friday and Saturday.
Obviously I didn’t meet my goal of getting below 150 before my trip, but that’s okay. I got close! 🙂 I’m heading to Vegas today, and expect to get tons of exercise while on the go for the next few days, and of course I’m planning to “travel low carb” – you know, so I can fit into all the cute dresses I packed. 🙂
I’ve been eating super simple at home this week, as I was busy wrapping things up before my trip. Below are my meals & MyFitnessPal food diaries for the last two days.
I may not have time to blog my travel meals on the trip, so make sure you follow along for my fun food & travel updates on Facebook or Instagram! 🙂
Thursday’s Low Carb Meals
My favorite low carb breakfast: 1/4 cup Daisy Brand cottage cheese + 1/4 cup crushed pecans + 3 diced strawberries + a Peanut Butter Granola Atkins bar = 8 net carbs ❤ Delicious combo! I stir it all together into “low carb cereal”.
For lunch I just snacked on 1/4 cup crushed pecans and .85 ounces of colby jack cheese off the block:
For dinner I grabbed a Low Carb Thickburger from Hardee’s. I decided to make it a double, but they were NOT 1/3 pound patties!?! Some of the lettuce was icky too. 😛 Odd, they are usually so great! Whatever, I ate it anyway -lol.
I got hungry again before I went to bed… This just never gets old. 🙂
Here’s how my MyFitnessPal Food Diary & Macros worked out for Thursday:
Friday’s Low Carb Meals
I repeated the exact same breakfast and lunch as the day before, minus the two snacks, so I won’t bore you with repeat pictures. Just because it was easy! 😛 lol.
I went out to dinner last night, and ordered “Italian Chicken” – just a grilled chicken breast topped with mozzarella & mushrooms – with roasted broccoli on the side. I had about half a side salad too, which I just realized I didn’t add into my diary. Anyway, I only ate half my dinner so I brought the other half home to eat for lunch today. 🙂
I only ate half of it because I haven’t had much of an appetite this week, on and off I should say. The stress, I suppose. I’m heading off on my trip, and I think a few days away will be really good for me. 🙂
Here’s my MyFitnessPal Food Diary for Friday (yesterday):
I’m headed off to Vegas! Be sure to follow along for my fun food & travel updates on Facebook or Instagram. 🙂 I look forward to sharing some fun “food finds” on my trip!

Excellent Job this week Lynn!! Looking forward to your Vegas Updates π
Have a question, I’m allergic to strawberries, I know very sad, what can I substitute for them? I really like the breakfast….
Raspberries, blackberries, blueberries – or sugar free preserves. π Just make sure to count for the carbs for whatever you choose.
I use MyFitnessPal like you. How did you get net carbs on yours? I can’t find anything in the settings that could change this. I have the free version. Help!
I use the free version of MyFitnessPal too. π Here’s the hack I use and how I have mine set up to show Net Carbs: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/4448/myfitnesspal-hack/
You’ve done great! Don’t let that scale bum you out. As all of the low carb experts will tell us, the scale is just a number, we can tell by our clothes, measurements, etc., how we’re doing. Plus, I find when I get to a ‘set point’ weight that I was at for a long time before, my body tends to stay there for a while. One reason I don’t weigh every day. I just go with the flow, then suddenly I find myself wondering why the elastic waistband to my undies are shaking hands with my bra!! lol I lost 50 lbs last year, & will be grateful for a repeat this year.
I’m thinking that low carb shouldn’t really be called a ‘diet’. It’s the way we were meant to eat. Plus, I think when we get off the junk carb-laden food merry go round, our mind set changes. I think we start to look at eating to live, not living to eat. If we can change that one thing in our relationship with food, it’s life changing.
Ok, off my soapbox & emailing Publix as to why no Daisy cottage cheese!!!!
Thank you for all you share and do, it helps so much.
I’m curious, Lynn, how did you get the Net Carbs to show up on MyFitnessPal? I can’t figure out how to make it visible, even though I upgraded to premium. Any hints for me?
I noticed you have “net carbs” in a column – I can’t find that option. Can you tell me how you got that? I recently found your blog and FB page and really enjoy it! You are “real”.
Im having a gard time finding the net carbs, too.
Thank you π Here’s how you get Net Carbs in MyFitnessPal : http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/4448/myfitnesspal-hack/ π
