I had my hair done yesterday – thankfully, because it was long overdue and I was looking pretty tragic, lol.
Anyway, we (my hairdresser and I) discussed donuts the ENTIRE time. 😯 She mentioned a local place is closing – the place I used to love to go for donuts, you know, back when I ate things like that. I was so tempted to rush over there and buy a dozen (or two! or three!!) – before they’re gone forever. SO tempted.
Instead I called in a huge salad and stopped by Walgreen’s on the way to pick it up… and bought a stash of sugar free candy. 😛 Anything to save me from the donut binge! #closecall – – I really impress myself sometimes.
Seriously, the entire two hours. We talked donuts. And carbs. Do you have any idea how much I was squirming in that “hair chair”?! lol… UGH!
It’s bad enough that my day started out with a “nastygram” about my weight. Keep reading. 😉 Here’s how my day went…
Wednesday’s Low Carb Food Journal
I kicked the day off with two cups of coffee, then had to run a few errands. Hardee’s starts serving lunch at 10:30am (yay!) so I had a Low Carb Thickburger as a late breakfast. I ordered it plain since I was driving: meat, cheese & lettuce = zero carbs.
I worked through lunch so I just ate some leftover sausage, a slice of colby jack cheese off the block and half a cup of pecan halves – and yes, I weighed my cheese on my digital kitchen scale and ate my pecans out of a measuring cup! 🙂
My dinner was take-out from Applebee’s. I love (LOVE!) their carside-to-go service! 🙂 I got a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad and added an order of Grilled Shrimp to it. I was hungry, and I knew that would make two meals for me.
I mentioned that I stopped on the way and got some sugar free candy. I chose the Russell Stover Pecan Delights, and sugar free York Peppermint Patties. YUM! I only ended up eating one piece of candy, but there was great comfort in knowing I had two full bags – for some crazy reason. 😛
I had a pounding headache in the evening so I laid down for about an hour, then finished my salad when I got up – with another 1/2 cup of pecans on top! There is something beautifully delicious about the flavor combination of pecans in a Caesar Salad. 🙂
Here’s my MyfitnessPal Diary for yesterday:
Net Carbs: 19
Total Carbs: 37
Calories: 1,952
Protein: 122 grams
Macro Ratios: 73% Fat / 23% Protein
Water: 8 ounces (Ack!)
Exercise: None 😐 Oops!
Not bad for such a long day, starting at 6am’ish and lasting till past 2am. 😛
Speaking of, this was me (and Mr. Sulley) – just after midnight (LOL):
That picture sums me up fairly well, haha! I ordered those heels online, and LOVE them. They are super comfortable for 4″ heels. And fancy. 🙂 I’m headed to Vegas this weekend, so it’ll be the perfect time to wear them!
That’s my day in a pecan shell!
I am SO proud of myself for steering my car in the salad direction, and avoiding the donut binge. I admit… it was seriously tempting. I had a bad day yesterday. The morning started off with an email from a lady that ended with:
“PS By the way, hope one of your New Year’s resolutions was to lose weight, ‘cause you extremely need it dearly. Low carb eh? Pffft……. you’ve got a looooong road ahead of you!
Yes, for real. 😐
Something like that would normally send me over the edge, faceplanting straight into a quart of ice cream. My self control amazes me sometimes. 😛
Here are recent photos of me, by the way:
Best,
Lynn Terry,
aka @LowCarbTraveler
Seriously? I would kill to look half as good as you do! Some people, sheesh. Love the shoes! Thanks for the blog as it is encouraging to me!
The shoes are awesome, aren’t they? π Thank you so much, Denise – it makes my day to hear that you enjoy my low carb journals!! And yeah, some people *sigh* lol… that personal attack was totally uncalled for. π
I bet the critique beotch is at least 370 lbs. Keep it up, you look great
Your meals look super yummy!
That lady was way inappropriate, rude and just nasty. I don’t know why she’s so salty and where she took the right from to comment on your weight, because honestly, that’s totally up to everyone’s own decision if they are happy the way they look, or not. Plus, I’m all for women supporting women.
I have nasty thoughts myself sometimes about others, women or not, but I have no right to impose those thoughts on them and make them feel miserable just because I feel miserable for some reason or other.
So, tl; dr: I’m super impressed how you kept yourself from giving in to the icecream crave! thank you for all your work on documenting your personal journey and keep on rocking!
You look amazing! Love the fancy shoes and pj pants. Thank you for sharing all your meals and tips. I also appreciate you telling the donut story and how its so hard to be tempted by people who don’t understand your goals. You are an inspiration to me. Enjoy your trip to Vegas!
I agree Jean! I now need some fancy shoes for my pj pants!
Lynn have a GREAT time in Vegas. And what happens in Vegas, can’t stay in Vegas because we ALL love reading about your days.
WHAT???? Serious idiot alert there. Stupid jealous person needs to get a life You look & are beautiful
Lynn, sorry that email didn’t make it to the virtual trash can! ‘Hateration’ is all around us.
Great job avoiding the donut shop. I’m very sentimental and nostalgic. I may have had to have half of something. Lol.
BTW, I’m traveling to New Orleans next week for the big 5-0 birthday. If you have any suggestions for good low carb meals, pass them along please.
Love You Lynn Terry! Thanks for inspiring me ! Have a blast in Vegas and Rick the casbah in those shoes! Xo
Erin ( Coltsneckgirl)
Rock not Rick…unless Rick is cute!
LOL! That made me laugh, Erin – haha π *cheers*
I think you look fabulous. It takes an amazing woman to pull of flannel pants and 4 inch heels. You rocked that outfit π That person’s comment says nothing about you and everything about her. I have seen your hard work and dedication to this lifestyle for a long time. I appreciate all of your posts. I also appreciate how you share your success as well as your deviations at times. You motivate me every day. Haters are going to hate. I hope you just pressed “delete.” I would not let her steal your joy. Have a wonderful time in Vegas. You will be walking in style.
Love your blog.
Did i miss the candy in your listing of food for the day?
My husband bought me SF candy at Christmas, but I was shocked when I saw how many carbs it still has!
Anyhow not sure what’s the email writing lady’s deal is other than being best troll of the day.
You my dear are amazing! π
Bonnie, subtract the sugar alcohols to get your net carbs. They’re not as bad as you think! π
Oh – I probably forgot to add it. Sorry about that! Yeah, it’s super low carb because you subtract the fiber AND the sugar alcohol. π
Hi Lynn,
Some people aren’t happy unless they’re trying to bring someone else down. I think you look amazing and love all your posts.
You made me realize, I can do this without it being complicated.
Thank you for sharing your journey! And have a safe trip.
Awww, {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Lynn}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} You totally rock!
That poor deluded woman has such low self esteem and self hate that she wants to make someone who is incredibly successful feel badly. You look and feel amazing, I’d be thrilled to be as skinny as you are!!!
Have a blast on your Vegas trip!!!!
JoJo
xoxo
Clearly the person who wrote that email needs some self love
You look great! I love reading your updates because our start and current weights are almost identical (153 over here currently). Also I went to the hair dresser and got Applebee’s for dinner (sirloin with shrimp), so part of me is a little creeped out right now!
haha Rachel – now you have ME creeped out π lol That’s super cool though! We’re like low carb twins or something. π *cheers*
I love this blog!! I love how all the meals you eat are just simple everyday meals, nothing too hard to put together or find in a store. Keep up the good work because you look simply amazing!! Some people are just rude and disrespectful and I am very sorry that you had to endure her unhappiness! Have a safe trip! π
It’s amazing what people think they can get away with saying online. TROLL!
You look amazing and are an inspiration to many. Just hit delete. LOL Love ya!
I just don’t get why so many people feel free to make such vicious, negative comments. It’s the whole anonymity of the internet – people just aren’t accountable and say whatever comes to their tiny little petty minds. Let it go and know that you’re helping lots of people, me included. You’re funny and real and the shoes are totally Vegas-worthy.
I just can’t understand why people need to be that nasty! But thankfully it didn’t derail you. You look fabulous and are rockin’ them jeans!
And I got a good laugh at the heels and pajama combo. That’s definitely one thing I miss about working in an office: the heels. I love wearing heels! And I, too, wear heels and pajamas around the house. Or heels and yoga pants. Or heels and shorts. π
I hope the rude lady wakes up with an itchy butthole….:-)
LOL!!! I laughed SO hard :p π hahahaha
I try to only use the “f” word and the “b” word for special occasions. This was one of them.
F that B !!!
Your blog is an inspiration to me! Love your shoes & you look fantastic!!!!! Like someone else said “I wish I looked that good!”
That message was terribly ignorant! You are an inspiration to us, showing us that you are human like everyone else and showing that you some times slip, but get right back up and on track. Maybe she needs glasses…………….You look awesome!! Keep up the good work.
Well all I can say is I would give anything to look as good as you do. That person probably never looks in the mirror.
Love the shoes and enjoy following your food diary. I would like to know what app you use to track your food – thanks.
Thank you, Yvonne! I use MyFitnessPal and this is how I have mine set up to track Net Carbs: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/4448/myfitnesspal-hack/ π
Who says, or writes, things like that? Seriously, sounds like a sociopath. Anyway, you look terrific – just keep on keeping on! Have fun in Vegas – you deserve it!
Hi Lynn,
OMG!!! Your hater lady must have really been having a bad day!! That was completely unbelievable for her to say those nasty comments.
I’m sure glad you didn’t let her derail you!!! Wouldn’t have been worth it. You look so good and you and I are about the same weight right now so you are my inspiration to stay on track, because I don’t want you to pass me up!! Lol. I wasn’t on my plan all during the holidays so you can imagine that I needed to get back on track for the new year.
I am so impressed with how well you’re losing lately. Keep up the great work!! Enjoy Vegas and have a safe trip.
Debrah
OMG! You look great Lynn! And I can’t believe the rude comment! Don’t even take it personally! Your photo speaks for itself! Darling, you look FANTASTIC! She must be jealous of you! π
I myself wish I could control that late evening ice cream binge! I do great all day long… and then that ice cream calls my name! It didn’t help that hubby bought 2 containers – since they were on sale! LOL! Still gotta love him, and he is skinny as a string bean! I just need to control myself. I still have managed to lose 2 pounds since beginning this on Monday…
Those late night cravings / desires are a monster! π I keep sugar free candy on hand for such occasions. I rarely eat it, but knowing it’s there gives me great comfort – lol. π
Hi Lynn,
You are an amazing person and you look amazing. I love reading your entries bc you don’t try to preach and you keep it real and you are honest.
Totally ignore those comments bc they are not true. You look amazing.
BTW, I love those shoes! Have fun in Vegas – party hard and win big.
You have had such great success this past year losing over 20 pounds despite life’s ups & downs – you’re an inspiration and you are the weight and size I’m aspiring to be. SO GLAD you didn’t let that nastiness derail you! You’re right that our own mindset and ability to sabotage ourselves is bad enough without others feeding the negativity we strive to overcome each day for ourselves. Keep strong – you’re only a few days from your trip and since its Vegas, I’m betting that you’ll be in the 140’s!!
I am LOVIN’ your blog…I love your ideas on fast food and how to run through and stay within your carb limits…I get to the window and all my good intentions are “out the window”! You are an inspiration…and I can’t believe how some people just love to be hateful and rude! I feel sorry for them!! Thanks again..and count me in as a fan!!!
Thank you Lynn for all you do!!! I do look forward to reading your blog and food diaries every day! It inspires me and helps to keep me motivated to stick with it! This is the only diet that has ever worked for me and you really helped to simplify it and jump start me for the full 90 day challenge! By the way you look fantastic!!!! The woman who sent you that nasty gram obviously is an idiot who doesn’t know what she is talking about!!!
WOW! What a bitch i hope you block her negativity!I think you look great !Mean people suck ! I appreciate all you do!
All I can say about that comment is nasty, nasty nasty! All you can do is forgive her ignorance and ignore her comment. You’re such an inspiration to all of us, Lynn, and you look fabulous in those gorgeous shoes and especially the flannel pj pants. I have the exact same pair/pattern pj pants! Wish I had the same shoes. The current pics you posted are terrific. Enjoy Vegas!
Cindi
Hmm…sounds like she went to the donut shop and is now a little cra-cra on all that sugar…bless her heart….hahaha. Go have fun in Vegas girl and rock those new shoes…whoot whoot :))
You just need to listen to all the people you have helped!! You are a miracle worker for all the info & suggestions you give us!! You should be a millionaire for all your knowledge !!! You look sooooooo good!!
Don’t know what that silly email was about. You look amazing and little bitty! Pffft to her!! You’re a sexy Mama! Keep going!
You are all so awesome. π THANK YOU for the kind words, and for your support – and mostly for making me smile! I’m loving my new shoes… even in my PJ’s lol. π Stay tuned for Vegas food & fun updates!! If I can’t sit down to blog, I’ll be posting updates all along the way on my Facebook Page at http://www.facebook.com/lowcarbtraveler
