On my last trip I stayed at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs.
I was there for the Savvy Blogging Summit event and I must say… the venue was absolutely perfect.
The only glitch is that they were overbooked, and the first night of my 4-night stay we were moved to a nearby overflow hotel: Courtyard Marriott.
The cool thing is, they covered that first night (no charge!) and also gave us free shuttle service to and from the Courtyard Marriott. You can’t beat that. 😉
Once we arrived at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort on day two, it was absolutely breathtaking. Our shuttle driver took our bags straight to our room for us so we could check in and enjoy the resort until our plans later that evening.
The entire staff turned out to be just as friendly and accommodating throughout the entire weekend. They truly go over the top for their guests.
I honestly couldn’t get enough of the views. From the patio off our 3rd floor room to the terrace on the main lodge, you were almost always facing the beautiful Cheyenne Mountain and gorgeous skies.
Speaking of our room, which was a Deluxe Double Queen, it was very roomy and plush. There were two vanities, a private balcony with a mountain & resort view, a refrigerator, and wireless internet access.
It was the perfect venue for an event. The conference rooms were very nice, and gave easy access to an outdoor patio area for breaks. The internet service was great, and there were outlets everywhere which was very convenient.
The Cheyenne Mountain Resort also catered many of our meals and breaks, which was *very* well done. No one went hungry, that’s for sure!
And while we’re on the topic of food, the Will Rogers Lounge on the main floor has the best calamari EVER. Truly. I think I had it three different times that weekend. LOL.
There were many families there while we were, and it was obvious the children & teens were having a great time. In addition to being a great family getaway, it’s also pet friendly. I was just considering how much Slim would enjoy a visit to Colorado Springs. 😀
It’s perfect for events. And definitely somewhere I would go back for a personal trip as well. I can’t say enough great things about the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. It’s definitely a must-see! Great accommodations, friendly staff, good food, beautiful pools, gorgeous views. Honestly, you could just check in and never leave the resort – and have a perfect day every day…
I loved it. Can’t wait to go back!!
Hi Lynn!
Yet another place to visit on my future US road trip, along with Cashiers, NC. π For some reason I expected Colorado to be quite different, colder and starker. (?)
It was GORGEOUS! The weather was perfect while we were out there. I would love to go back and see it when there’s snow covering the mountains. π
