I had a delicious affair with cheesecake on my trip to Colorado Springs. I simply couldn’t get enough. I had discovered the low carb Ricotta Cheesecake at Macaroni Grill and was instantly hooked!
Unfortunately they are fazing it out, and replacing it with New York Style cheesecake – which is NOT low carb. 😛
I did some research on low carb cheesecake, and found some great recipes to try. I’ll let you know how that turns out when I get around to it.
In the meantime though, I was still craving cheesecake so I decided to order and try out the Low Carb Cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory…
There were two options: 7″ or 10″. The 10″ comes pre-sliced and the 7″ doesn’t.
Since it keeps in the freezer for up to 6 months, and shipping is the same either way, I decided to go ahead and order the bigger one.
I’m glad I did. The slices are separated with a thin paper, making it easy to pull out & thaw individual slices anytime you want one.
Speaking of, the slices are HUGE!
Each slice is around 10 net carbs, but seriously a slice topped with fresh or frozen berries is pretty much a meal in itself.
That slice was my breakfast that day. 😉
Unlike my previous order with Julian Bakery, the cheesecake actually arrived exactly when it said it would – two days later.
It was still frozen when it got here, as it was shipped with dry ice. I was really impressed with both the shipping speed *and* the presentation.
Big pretty box, cheesecake still intact, big beautiful individual slices… basically ready to slide right in the freezer and thaw & serve the portions you want when you want them.
Have I mentioned it’s absolutely DELICIOUS?! 😀
It was melt-in-your-mouth fabulous! My daughter even loved it, and she’s not used to artificial sweeteners at all. It’s not overly sweet, but just right. Add blackberries, raspberries or strawberries – or a combination of them all – and you have a very nice low carb cheesecake treat!
Two thumbs up from me- Love it!
I ordered it online from The Cheesecake Factory website, but you can also order it at the restaurant if you have one in your area. It’s not cheap, but it was WELL worth it -lol. Yum! I’m still going to try out some of the no-bake low carb cheesecake recipes I found online, so I’ll let you know how those turn out when I get some free time to play in the kitchen again. 🙂
