Just over two weeks into starting back eating low carb, and I’m already NINE pounds lighter! That’s a substantial weight loss in such a short time, and I couldn’t be happier. I feel fabulous, and even fit into my favorite comfy Levi’s yesterday! 😀
My current weight, as of first thing this morning, is 161.6 pounds. I was 170.6 pounds before I started back. I’m getting really excited about getting down into the 150’s again!
I’m not sure what my “ideal weight” is, but I figure I’ll know it when I get there. I know last time when I dipped just under 150 (148/149) I felt really great, but still wanted to tone and lose maybe ten more pounds. So for now I’m just working on losing this first 20 pounds (almost halfway there!) and then of course plan to maintain it this time. 😛
I haven’t been exercising, but plan to get back into that soon. I just haven’t felt 100% lately, so taking it easy. And I haven’t been cooking (lol, you figured that one already, I’m sure – ha!). In fact, I’ve been eating out mostly. Here’s a quick run-down of what I’ve been eating this week while the scales have been consistently dropping…
Monday
I’d just returned from my trip Sunday evening so I had some errands to run first thing Monday morning. I went to McDonald’s and got an Iced Coffee with half the cream and sugar-free vanilla, and a Sausage Egg McMuffin (and ditched the muffins, of course). They messed up my order – there was no egg on it, so they brought me another one. So I ended up eating two sausage patties and an egg.
For lunch I ordered take out, and got grilled chicken with grilled veggies and a side salad:
The grilled veggie side usually includes carrots, but I just ordered it “no carrots, please.” I ate one chicken breast and the veggies for lunch, and had the other chicken breast and the side salad for dinner that night.
Tuesday
On Tuesday I had a meeting in the city, so I grabbed a Low Carb Breakfast Bowl from Hardee’s on the way. It’s not my favorite, mostly because I find it to be too salty, but this time it wasn’t so bad. I only ended up eating about half of it though…
It has sausage, egg, bacon and two different cheeses. Meh, it’ll do in a pinch.
For lunch I had a beautiful Club Salad with Bleu Cheese dressing:
We were at a great little sandwich shop (I can’t remember the name) so I opted for the salad just so I wouldn’t make such a mess of my meal, LOL. You may recall the sandwiches I “disassembled” at a restaurant in a recent post. 😛 The salad looks small in that picture, but it was a large salad and VERY filling.
On the way home I stopped by Hardee’s again – just because it was so convenient. I had the Low Carb Burger, which is a regular 1/3 pound hamburger wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun. I got it plain with cheese since I was driving. I actually ordered two but only ate one of them…
Wednesday
I ate the other Hardee’s Low Carb Burger for breakfast this morning – minus the lettuce. I just heated the burger up and ate that. And for lunch I ordered the same take-out I had on Monday (above): the grilled chicken & veggies, and ate half for breakfast and half for dinner just like before. I can be really boring like that. 🙂 I don’t like having to think about food, or come up with meal ideas, so easy is GREAT.
And hey, the scales are giving me the thumbs up, so it’s all good, right? 😉

Great job Lynn! You may feel fabulous, but youβre also looking fabulous! Thank you for sharing all your insight to the low carb life style and how youβre making it work for you. It won’t be long before you achieve your goal.

Thank you, Les! This is the one thing I love most about eating Low Carb – that I didn’t have to change my quirky lifestyle to lose so much weight. I would shudder at the thought of giving up my fast food and take out. LOL. π *cheers*

Wow Lynn…lost 9 pounds from eating out! That is totally awesome!! π
I HAVE been exercising, however, not started low carbing yet. I’m sure once I do both, I’ll do great. Congrats on your weight loss! Again, very proud of you. =)
You know what they say, “Muscle weighs more than fat.” My first workout (2 weeks) I can’t even get on the scales cause I get too discouraged! LOL A good suggestion is to measure yourself. π Keep up the good work!! π

I look forward to toning, but as of now am not actively exercising. Just eating low carb. Loving the results!!

Just returned from a 6-star all inclusive resort on the Mayan Riviera… a week of being pampered! The food was non-stop as were the drinks. I only gained a little over a pound and I attribute that pound to the high-carb desserts and specialty drinks that I indulged in!
BUT I have to say that that the supplements I took with me helped me immensely! Between my metabolism booster and fat fighter/carb inhibitor I could eat and drink, confident that my extravagances weren’t going to set me back too far… and it didn’t! I ate and drank like a queen and still fit into my capris to come home! LOL, oh yeah, and BTW I had the dressmaker take another 2″ out of those capris before I left, on top of the 3″ she took out of its waistband last month!
p.s. I felt SO guilty eating that delicious chicken with grilled onions, guacamole and fresh salsa on a great BIG bun on Tuesday but it was the only way to eat it outside the restaurant, sitting at a cocktail table IN the pool! LOL, sometimes you just have to live dangerously!

btw, taking today to get caught up while toning up! I hate to exercise and never find the time to do it… so my toning comes from my amazing body wraps once a week! I am wearing it as I sort through all the hundreds of emails I need to get to. I haven’t looked this good in years!

Congrats on your weight loss and still fitting into your resized capris on the way home! Awesome. Sounds like a fun trip. π So glad to see you back too – you were missed. π *cheers*

To help you lose weight on a low carb diet, consider picking up some sugar free candies or other treats. That way you won’t have to deny yourself a sweet treat when the rest of your family splurges on a slice of cake, pie or a homemade cookie.

Good tip, Jeff. I keep sugar free Werther’s Original hard candies in my bag, which is just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth!
