Today is the final day of the Fall 2016 Low Carb Challenge. 🙂 We made it!!
I already posted the Final Weigh-In Link in the challenge group, but you may want to wait and weigh in tomorrow so you can finish out this last full day of the challenge first.
If you’re participating in the Challenge Facebook Group, use that link to post your weigh-in. Otherwise you can leave a comment here on this post.
Keep in mind these events are not a competition, but a challenge.
ANY weight loss is a victory! And NOT gaining weight is a victory too, even if you aren’t losing (or losing as quickly as you’d like). The most important thing about these challenges is getting healthier, creating new habits and breaking old habits, learning to make healthy choices – and staying focused on your personal health goals.
Here are the challenge details if you want to look back on those:
When Is The Next Low Carb Challenge?
I haven’t set a date yet for the next Official Challenge, but it will definitely be kicking off soon. 🙂 Make sure you are signed up at 90DayLowCarbChallenge.com so you’ll get notified by email and won’t miss out.
If you’re already getting the daily updates by email, you’re good to go!
Right now the tentative start date is Tuesday, November 1st running through the end of the year, for a fun year-end “survive the holidays” challenge.
In the meantime, I’ll continue eating low carb and sharing healthy lifestyle tips & ideas with you right here. So stick with me, and let’s continue on together. 🙂
Low Carb Challenge Discussion
I’m in the process of creating more structure to the low carb challenges, and am also creating some documents you’ll be able to download that should prove to be a big help. All of that should be available soon. I’ll keep you posted, of course. It’s a lot of work, but it is in progress.:)
I have lots of fun new ideas & options to share with you!
In the meantime, I would love to hear what YOU want and need most when it comes to future low carb challenge events. Any ideas or feedback you have is welcomed, and I’ll certainly consider it all. I look forward to your input!
How did you do in the challenge?
I would love to hear your results so far! I would also love to hear “what’s next” for YOU. Are you taking a break, or continuing on with me here?
And of course I would love your feedback on the challenges, and what you would like to see more of in the future. 🙂
Don’t forget to weigh-in, here or in the Challenge Group. I’d really love to get a total count of our collective weight loss!
Best,
Lynn Terry,

I AM looking forward to this new challenge. I totally lost it during the last one but got back on the wagon this last week. There is certainly strength in numbers!
There really is, Susi. π You all keep me inspired and motivated TOO. In fact, that’s why I’m adding more color to my diet – which has been a fun personal challenge for me lately, inspired by another reader doing the same. π
I’m glad you got back on track. That’s the key!
Lynn, I’ve been following you through the last two challenges and almost immediately lost 10 pounds. This last challenge I have been “hovering” between 151 & 153 for about 2 months and I’ve lost 3 1/2 since August 1st. I guess what this last challenge has taught me is that I CAN maintain, which I’ve never been able to do before on any other WOE. My goal is another 10-15 pounds, but at almost 65 years of age, I know it will come very slowly. Whatever the next challenge is, I’ll be right there following you! Thanks for all you do!
That last 10-20 pounds is the MOST challenging. π π I’m right there with you, and happily pushing forward (at a snails pace, lol) – and thrilled that I’m NOT gaining and that I’m maintaining a healthy lifestyle! π
I am so looking forward to participating in your next challenge. I have been following you and love how you keep it so simple. I gave it a try last week, although not quite as low carb as you do, and dropped 9 pounds. That has never happened in my entire life. I couldn’t believe it! I am 70 years old. What I really love is the reduction of cravings. Thank you for encouraging me. By the way, I love the pictures of your meals and hikes. Kudos to you!
Thank you, Carol. π That’s the great thing about eating low carb. It’s a natural diuretic, which gets rid of water weight and bloating immediately. It’s also a natural appetite suppressant and somehow totally kills your cravings – which is a HUGE bonus, making it super easy compared to other “diets.” π
I do love simple. It makes life easier, and makes for less dishes (lol).
As to challenge results this time, I’d rather not. I keep gaining weight while eating as low carb as possible, some days consuming less than 6 or 7 grams of carbs. My blood work came back as normal as I get. I honestly don’t know why it no longer works FOR ME. I am genuinely happy for all the folks who have had good results and cheer them on! I’ll be in the next one and just keep eating this way as I get sick when I don’t. Good motivation. LOL But I would love to lose the weight I gained (not much after the last debacle) and keep losing. I’m way way too far from any type of normal weight for this to be happening, so. . . . onward and upward! Or downward, as the case may be. π Lynn, in any case, I will keep reading everything you write. Something good will come of this. I keep telling myself that!
I wish I had some brilliant advice for you, Carla – but you know your body and your situation better than I do, and you’re already working with your doctor on it – which is great. I love that you’ve started exercising regularly too. π Weight loss results or not, you’re living a healthy lifestyle! That has to feel good, yes?
I don’t know that I would ask for any changes. I live seeing your updates of what you are eating each day. Maybe we could have a week where we have an eat simple challenge or no dairy week or even day. I think those are some things people struggle with.
I had yyur fave bfast today and learned I HATE cottage cheese lol. Any idea on something I could eat in its place? I had cottage cheese pecans and strawberries. Thanks for all you do!
How about low carb yogurt, or maybe a splash of unsweetened almond milk?
Oh yeah low carb yogurt sounds great
I’ve been gaining and losing the same 5 pounds for forever. But, my A1C is down to 5.6, and my doctor no longer considers me pre-diabetic. I also asked about getting a stress test (I’m past closer to 60 than 50), and my doctor plugged in my numbers and said I’m low risk. So, even though I have a lot left to lose, whatever I’m doing is at least making me healthier, if not skinnier.
Those are great WINS, Eileen! π
How are you tracking, by the way? Are you doing 20 net carbs max, 70% fat minimum?
I just came back from a week of vacation in Portland, of all places, the foodie city of the nation, and I came back at the same weight as when I left. SCORE! I stayed trued to low carb eating about 95% of the time, but had a bite of this or that from my husband’s plate (although I ate no bread or dessert, including the famous Voodoo Donuts – HA! I had wine every night, which I had not been doing previously while in the losing phase of low carb with exception of celebratory times, so I honestly expected to put on some weight from that alone. I found it remarkably easy to make good choices at all the restaurants we went to (but then I chose restaurants based on looking over their menu online ahead of time to be sure). We were also invited to dine twice at someone’s home and I was asked in advance about special diets and I told them low carb. One night we had roasted leg of lamb and a variety of vegs and salads. The other night we had slow-roasted short ribs and mashed potatoes (I arrived with ingredients to make cauli-mash and they loved it!). Two days after returning home, I was down 1-1/2 pounds. All-in-all, I’d say it was a success. But then I’ve been doing this since February so I’m getting pretty good at it. And I’ve lost a total of…
40 pounds! Ideally I would like to lose 5-10 more to get where I need to be.
Way to go, Betsy! Those meals sound fabulous too. π What great hosts you had… very kind! Congrats on the weight loss. I love hearing victories like this!!
