Why I Finally Joined Ebates: And I got $821.95 in FREE money already!

I’ve been hearing about Ebates for years, and my friends rave about it. I kept ignoring it though, thinking: I don’t need another program to keep up with.

What I didn’t realize is that it’s pretty much all automated! I’ve been saving and making money without even having to do anything different at all. 🙂 VERY cool!

I also kind of assumed it was a rebate type program, and that it would be complicated and time consuming – like couponing. Or that I would forget to cash out.

But that’s not how it works at all. I just keep getting payments from them! As in, real money – sent directly to my account. I only recently signed up, and I’ve already made over $800 without having to do anything extra or jump through any hoops. 🙂

I was actually surprised when the payments started coming in, lol.

How You Get Paid By Ebates

You have two options for getting your payments. I set mine up to go to my PayPal account, because I have a PayPal debit card and use that a lot. But you can also have them send you a check if you prefer.

In addition to my $10 gift card (which came in the mail), I’ve received two payments already – with a third one being processed.

I really didn’t expect it to be so EASY or to add up to such nice payments. Which is basically just FREE MONEY for things I was already doing!

TIP: Activate The Cash Back Button!

This is what automates everything for me. When I signed up for Ebates I set up their Cash Back Button in both of my browsers, and also downloaded the app on my phone.

That way you can automatically activate the cashback option (and the special offers) when you’re online or shopping on your mobile or tablet. You can just go through the Ebates website too, but it’s SO much easier to activate the browser thing – because then you can even see the cashback options & deals right in Google search results!

You’ll get emails with cool offers, or you can browse their website for them too. But I just like to type in the store I know I’m going to shop at to see if there’s a coupon – like this 20% off (PLUS the cashback!) for American Eagle:

I shop there anyway, so why NOT save 20% AND make money back too?!

Lately I have gotten cashback on concert tickets at Ticketmaster, at Verizon when I upgraded my phone, at Amazon (where I shop A LOT), at Priceline when I ordered a plane ticket for a trip, etc. EASY – and stuff I was doing anyway. 🙂

Why Didn’t I Do This Sooner?!

I could kick myself for not signing up a year ago, given how much shopping I did online in the last year. It was A LOT. 😛 I haven’t been doing as much shopping lately, and I’ve STILL earned over $500 in short time.
