The difference between these two photos is a 15 pound weight loss.
Before and After pictures were tough to come by, because honestly…
I have deleted every picture that made me look fat, LOL, or at the very least cropped out the worst bits (from the non-esistent waist down).
The biggest difference I see when I look at myself in the mirror is in my face and neck. Not to mention the fact that I have a waist again! ๐
These are not the greatest “weight loss before and after pictures” – and I do wish I had taken (or kept) more “fat pics” haha – but it least gives you an idea. I had to go all the way back to January to find a fat pic I hadn’t yet deleted! I didn’t actually start eating low-carb until mid-April. So the weight loss happened from mid-April to the beginning of June.
The BEFORE picture was taken in Las Vegas, the AFTER picture was taken at Okaloosa Island beach in Florida. I get around. LOL.
Notice my bulging waist in the photo on the left, and the double chin. Yuck!
And the fact that I would wear a sundress with straps… well, that says it all right there.
I am weighing even lighter on the scales today – with a total of 19 pounds lost. After being on a bit of a plateau while traveling non-stop the last couple of weeks, I dropped 3-4 pounds in a matter of days.
Eating low-carb is funny like that. Just when you think your scale will never budge, you get a dramatic loss all of a sudden! ๐
Be sure to subscribe at the right and stay tuned. I’m looking forward to sharing my quirky low-carb eating habits with you, including my coffee chocolate ice cream with less than 5 net carbs… and my super low-carb recipe for garlic cheesy breadsticks!
Lynn you look amazing! Crazy that something as “little” as 15 lbs can make such a big difference. You look fantastic! Keep up the awesome work ๐
Thank you Tishia! ๐ I agree. But every pound or two I lose, I imagine what that weight would feel like in my hands. And that gives me perspective on how each pound really feels on my body.
15 pounds was a huge difference. I felt better, had more energy, my skin was looking great, I actually felt like going for a walk, would wear straps instead of sleeves (lol)…
I’ve now lost 19 pounds, and it feels FABULOUS!
I had one “fat picture” I scanned in my computer and saved it in a deep, dark place where no one could find it until I had an “after” photo to share. I lost the bulk of my weight doing low carb, high protein as well. Super easy lifestyle change – at least it was for me.
I’ve lost a total of 52 pounds thus far. It’s been a little bit of this, a little bit of that – but I attribute the first 30 to low carb. I’m 10 away from where I originally wanted to be, but now I’m thinking it might be 5-10 more even still. I’ll decide once I get there and see how my butt looks in jeans ๐ I have one pair of jeans that I’m dying to get back into – it’s been 6 years since I was in that brand or size. I can’t wait!
Good luck on your own journey.
Wow, Gayla – congratulations!! And yes, going low-carb was a super easy lifestyle change for me as well. I was actually not expecting it to be, so that was a pleasant surprise. (funny how we can build things up in our head – lol)
Good luck to you as well – I look forward to seeing us BOTH in the jeans we want to be wearing! ๐
Congratulations Lynn.
I just visited your new blog today and I’m impressed with it. It’s so charming and believe you’re going to enjoy readership. Also, i’m glad you’re losing weight with low carb foods.
Thank you Rita ๐
Lynn, I’m so glad I will have an opportunity to follow along with you in your new adventure with low carb eating. Although I am a Nutritionist, I am not a low carb expert by any means. I’m learning by reading about your experiences and those of your readers. You’ve also inspired me to dig in and learn more on my own. Thank you!
In addition to the diet, I’m learning about your approach to setting up an affiliate site. It never ceases to amaze me at how fast you jump in and get things going. I had hoped to follow along each day and here you are already more than two weeks along and I’m just finding the time to share a little. (My daughter who lives in another state was here visiting with my husband and me. I gave myself permission to take full time off because I don’t see her very often. My excuse?)
Best of luck you seem to be doing well,
Lori
Great to see you here, Lori! ๐
I think that sounds like a *fabulous* reason to take time off! I recently took an unplugged vacation, and am spending some extra time off work this week with my son home visiting. That’s the whole goal of working from home and being self employed. I love the flexibility!
I would love to talk more with you, as a nutritionist, and hear your thoughts on eating low carb. It is all new to me, but so much fun to learn – and such a liberating “diet” (more like a simple way of eating, really). For me this is more than a means of losing weight, and a complete lifestyle change. I’m loving the results!!
You look gorgeous in both pics Lynn, cool ๐
Aww thanks ๐ But I feel MUCH better with 20 pounds off and scales still moving! I also just feel better period from eating less “junk” ๐
Hey Lynn … congrats !!! Your story is totally inspiring & you look awesome !
I am loving your new site … I came to check out some of your recipes etc as you have inspired me to try out the “low carb” eating … I definately find with all my late nights and sitting alot working on my online business … it has affected me a bit in the weight department …. lol So time to make some changes for the better : )
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences & advice for us … it’s very much appreciated !!! ~ tamalee
Thank you Tamalee – glad to see you here! I am really loving the low carb diet. I feel better, look better, and have lost more than 23 pounds already. ๐ The scales just keep moving – love it!!
I admit I’m no Betty Crocker. My hope is that others with a busy lifestyle will be encouraged that you don’t have to be a housewife with tons of time to spend in the kitchen to do this. The majority of my meals are convenience foods, fast foods or restaurants – lol. ๐
just started low carb yesterday. found your web site – thank you for all of the ideas and recipes. your pictures are beautiful. have a great day.
Thank you Lisa & welcome! I look forward to hearing more from you & getting to know you. Keep me posted on how low carb is working for you. ๐
