Two weeks ago I told you about the Quaker Heart Health Challenge. The goal with this challenge is to complete 15 workouts in 30 days. My specific goal was to create the habit of working out regularly, more so than to achieve any specific results during a single month.
I’ve been logging my workouts at the Quaker “Map My Fitness” site. I’ve done 7 workouts in the last two weeks – well, 8 if you count the Zumba DVD workout I’m going to do after I publish this post. 😉
It’s a real eye opener, logging your workouts and seeing them there on the screen in front of you. Or not logging one for a few days, and seeing the blank spots. LOL. You can also see which activities burn more calories than others. And the list of workout options gave me a lot of new ideas to try!
I like the accountability of the challenge more than anything. I really needed that. Creating the habit of exercising IS a challenge, just like I knew it would be. I’m still really having to push myself.
Speaking of, I worked out with my friend & assistant Angie Newton last weekend while we were in Atlanta together for the event. You can see the video below. (I’m a total wimp LOL) 😛
The weather has finally warmed back up a bit here in Tennessee, so hopefully I can get some walks in with my Great Dane. That’s always a good workout! And one I enjoy a lot more than the gym. LOL 😛
I would love for you to join me in the MapMyFitness Quaker Challenge for the rest of this month. We can work together toward our weight loss goals, keep track of workouts and progress, and share updates. February is National Heart Health month. Even if it’s only 5 more minutes a day, what extra step will you take to stay fit?
