I got right back on track after my post-holiday “binge meal” of course, so here is my Low Carb Food Journal for yesterday (Sunday).
That’s the key: NOT letting one unhealthy meal totally derail you from your goals. Just start right back on your low carb diet and keep on trucking!
Not only did I get RIGHT back on track, but I also got in a good workout. 🙂
You’ll love this – it’s all EASY meals!
Yesterday was a really long day. I got up at 6am and stayed up until after 1:00am. That’s because I had a 3 1/2 hour nap in the afternoon 😛 lol. I was wiped out after all the driving over the holiday!! Anyway, here’s what I ate…
Sunday’s Low Carb Food Diary
I had 2 pieces of leftover sausage, so I heated that up and scrambled 3 eggs with almost 1/2 ounce of Colby Jack cheese (off the block):
For lunch I had a Low Carb Grilled Chicken Club from Hardee’s (7 net carbs). My great dane stuck his nose in the picture, lol – he smelled the bacon, no doubt! 😛
For dinner, I decided to pick up take-out since I had to run to the store for coffee anyway. I went to Captain D’s and ordered the grilled fish & shrimp dinner.
I ordered it “no rice, no breadstick, double green beans”:
I only ate one of the green bean sides, and I had a tarter sauce with the grilled fish. That came to 6 net carbs for the meal.
I ended up having a snack later too, since I was up so late. I decided on my “low carb cereal”. This time it was 1/4 cup of Daisy Brand cottage cheese, 1/2 cup of crushed pecans, and a few frozen blackberries – then I stirred it all together. 🙂 Yum!
Here’s how my macros came out for the day…
MyFitnessPal Net Carb Food Diary:
Net Carbs: 28
Total Carbs: 38
Calories: 2003
Protein: 120 grams
Ratios: 81% Fat / 15% Protein
Water: 48 ounces
My numbers are a little higher than normal because I was up for 20 hours. 😉
I got about 5200 steps on my FitBit just doing housework. I had a busy day of fun year-end organizing 🙂
Then I did 80 reps on my Ab Carver Pro too: 40 to the front, and 20 to each side.
I refused to quit until I broke a sweat!!
Here’s the video that shows you all about the Ab Carver Pro (feel free to laugh! haha). I am MUCH better at it now that I’ve had more practice on it. I love this thing!!
It feels great to be right back on track, eating healthy – and even getting a great workout in for the day! 🙂 I’m on a SERIOUS mission as we close out the year. I’m still annoyed at my screw-up, but I’m SO glad I didn’t let that totally derail me…
What about you – are you back on track, or still going strong??
Stay tuned for even more motivation, inspiration & EASY low carb food ideas! 🙂
Best,

~Good Morning and congrats on getting right back on track. I woke up this Monday morning at 3:15 and eventually was up and on my ab machine an hour later. I crunched 3 reps of 25. This is a good start for me considering I haven’t exercised for five days! I also did a few rounds on the elliptical. The treadmill I save for weekends because my work weeks are long and tiresome.~
~I am excited about his new group (90-Day Challenge) and joining your personal FB. Thank you for sticking with the program and sharing your story. Your communications are in line with my own personal nutrition and exercise goals. Congrats to us both on this journey! ~ Onward!!
~Charley~
Good going, Charley! It feels GREAT to be back on track, doesn’t it? π I’m glad you joined us in the challenge group. We’ll be kicking off a fun challenge with the New Year to really kick the year off strong! π *cheers*
Thanks for sharing your last two blogs. I am a stress eater and, of course, tend to lean toward sweets when things get crazy. I’ve probably put on 10 lbs during the holiday. BUT I got up today and threw out all the leftovers and started over. Even with the 10 lb gain, I’m still 90 lbs down. I’ll never go back to where I was, and it’s great to know
Others struggle, too! Happy New Year! I’m fully on board!
Wow Kat – congrats on losing 90 pounds!! Wow π Way to go!!
I totally get it with the stress/emotional eating. It’s a constant struggle. But I find it a struggle if I give in too, because then I have to deal with the discouragement and disappointment and general UGH feeling. π So I might as well pick the GOOD struggle, lol!
I have a question..
I’ve been doing low carb, high protein, low sugar for several years now..lost 72 lbs my first year..of course I’ve had ups and downs…so I decided to try this woe, starting next week…my question is..I’m not into butter, do I have to have butter on things in order for this to work? Please advise. Thnx
Hi Carolyn,
You want to be cautious about eating “high protein” – things like gout, kidney issues, etc may be a concern. You should really eat “LCHF” (Low Carb High Fat). Which does NOT mean “low protein” at all. See: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/7006/macronutrients/ for a super simple explanation on that.
Congrats on losing 72 pounds in ONE year!! π That’s amazing. π
And no, I don’t eat tons of butter. I use it to cook with or season veggies, like normal. Otherwise I enjoy a lot of “real food” healthy fats like: pecans, walnuts, avocado, salmon, chicken thighs (instead of breasts), etc.
