Where have I been?! Arizona, Ohio, Georgia… it’s been a busy month for this “low carb traveler”! 🙂
I also helped my son get moved, brought home a new great dane (now we are three!), enjoyed a VERY quiet Thanksgiving this year, and I’m heading to Knoxville this weekend to take my daughter to a concert. 🙂 Whew! I’m ready for a slooooow December, lol.
I’ve been sporting all of my new dresses and shoes while out & about – (I did A LOT of shopping in October, lol!) – and in between I’ve been curled up in my PJ’s writing & working.
I’m gearing up for us to have an exciting 2016 together with lots of FUN new challenges and exciting additions!
One of the things I’ve been working on behind the scenes is a total redesign of this site and the emails you receive with my updates, along with mapping out the 2016 low carb challenges. Make sure you’re on the email list if you aren’t already so you don’t miss all the fun updates! 🙂
I apologize for “going quiet” on you. I got busy between traveling, training a new dane, and really just needed some downtime in between. 😛
I also kind of felt like my meals were getting boring. LOL. I suppose I stopped updating much while I was on my trip to Phoenix – where I literally ate a “salmon salad” two or three times a day! haha. I mean, how many times can you post a picture of the same meal?! Heh. Here it is, by the way:
That was the BEST low carb meal on the menu at the hotel where I was staying. It was delicious of course! I also had the bone-in ribeye with greens one night, a bunless burger for lunch one of the days, and had jumbo shrimp on my caesar salad once, but otherwise I pretty much lived on the salmon that entire trip.
Oh wait – I almost forgot, I did leave the hotel for one meal. I had lunch at a Mexican restaurant with a friend. I ordered a BIG salad piled high with chicken, shrimp and avocado. I had to special order it a bit (no chips, etc) but it was fabulous:
It’s been a rainy dreary day here in Tennessee today, with a few more days of rain expected. I haven’t really felt like eating much, and just feel tired today for some reason. I had coffee and an Atkins bar for breakfast (blech! lol), and a big bowl of cottage cheese with pecans & strawberries earlier. I was thinking I might make tuna salad for dinner tonight. Easy is GOOD on a day like today! 🙂
I think I broke my foot. lol…
I am such a clutz. One of my many endearing qualities. 😛 I tripped the other night and bent my big toe in a way it should never EVER bend. I managed to peel myself off the driveway and limp inside (lol), and other than some slight swelling it seems fine. Maybe it’s a break, maybe just a sprain, all I know is it’s screwing up my Fitbit steps & fitness goals! Heh. It’ll heal…
In the meantime, this is a good time to work on my upper body toning. I’ve been calling that a “goal” for weeks now, but haven’t actually been DOING it. I really want TONE ARMS! Or at least I don’t want my arm to wave at someone by itself. 🙂 Ack! Here’s a good Batwing Arm Workout Video on YouTube I found, by the way.
I’m hoping my foot feels better by Friday night though, because I’m planning to dance the night away (or at least to 10,000 steps!) at the concert. 🙂 Plus I got some new 4″ heels I can’t wait to wear. I’ll have to get a few new pictures and show you some of the great outfits I’ve ordered online lately, because they were great finds.
I’ve really missed sharing my daily food diaries with you here, so expect to start seeing those again this week. I’m going to be home now for the better part of the next couple of months, save a few short trips here and there, so I’ll try to get a little more adventurous in the kitchen. 😉
What have YOU been up to? I am really aiming to finish this year STRONG, and look smoking hot for my New Year’s Eve plans! I hope you’re feeling motivated and inspired too. I am NOT waiting to make a resolution in January. I plan to walk into January feeling AMAZING. Let’s do this together!! 🙂 *cheers*
Best,
Lynn Terry,

I can’t wait to see the re-design. I just bought a new theme that is going to get used on almost all my sites, just because it’s so flexible and can look different on each site.
I’ve kind of fallen off the wagon, but found that after getting really sick for a week that I’m not as hungry and that I fill up quickly, so I’m not eating as much which is good too.
Lynn Terry says
Hi Jenn! I hate to hear you’ve been sick. Was that related to eating off plan, or a totally separate issue?
Alberta Wasden says
I was out 3 weeks with food poisoning and it was serious enough to warrant a stay in a hospital. So I believe I over did it once I got my appetite back. I’m looking forward to updates and let’s all go into December and 2016 rocking and rolling.
Lynn Terry says
That’s terrible, Alberta! 😛 Yuck! I trust you’re feeling tons better now, and ready to get back on track and eating healthy again? 🙂
Roye says
Hellooo! I’ve missed you but am happy you’re good and have just been very busy. I can’t wait to see the new doggie! I love Great Danes, never had one but love dogs LOL. I have two Boxers, talk about sweethearts!
Well I’ve been really really bad even before Thanksgiving but just chucked my diet completely out the window and my scales show it! I’m so depressed. I can’t say I’ll be doing much better with Christmas coming up but I absolutely want to get back on track in January. I’m looking forward to you new blog and meal plans. I’m curious how you feel about eating fruit (strawberries), I’ve been told that fruit has too much sugar and to avoid it.
See you soon,
Roye
Lynn Terry says
Hi Roye 🙂
Berries are not technically a fruit, so strawberries and raspberries and blackberries are totally fine on a ketogenic low carb diet. I measure them of course and count them in my daily carb count, but I enjoy berries frequently! 🙂 But yes, any fruit (outside of berries) is very high in sugar – and carbs.
It would be wise to eat super healthy – clean and simple – between now and Christmas. That way you have MUCH less to “undo” come January. 🙂 There’s a whole week after Christmas before January too, so if you know you want to eat whatever you please on Christmas… just plan to eat very healthy otherwise.
I say that because it’s easy to just blow it all off this time of year, but I can gain A LOT in a few short weeks, much less a long month. lol. Ugh, so not worth it! 😉
Pat Kline says
Lynn, you already DO look smoking hot girl. And I always look forward your posts because they are always uplifting and inspiring. You are such an amazing person and do so much to help all of us. Thank you so much for all you do…..
Lynn Terry says
Thank you, Pat! But you haven’t seen me nekkid. 😛 haha (thankfully!) 🙂 I’m maybe 10-20 pounds overweight. It’s hard to say exactly (until I get there) especially since my goal right now is to tone and build muscle.
It’ll be interesting to see how the fat loss and muscle gain all pans out on the scales! I’m super excited to finally get in amazing shape AND have the weight off. 2016 is going to be a GREAT year!! 🙂 *cheers*
Winnie says
You are always inspiring! I’ve been sidetracked with trying to finish up my late husband’s estate and taking care of getting the home we lived in for 35 years (but not the last 15 years) ready for rent. Letting the realtor take care of it was a great decision as it frees me of responsibility if I decide to head south for maybe a month or two. Time to get back on track with low carb and head southward weight loss wise! Can’t wait to see what you’ve planned! Thanks for being there for us! Enjoy your new pet!
Lynn Terry says
Thank you, Winnie. That’s quite the sidetrack. An emotional one too, I’m sure. I imagine it’s keeping you very busy. It sounds like you have a terrific mindset about it all, with plans to travel and eat healthy and take care of YOU. Smart!
Julie says
Have missed hearing from you. I found you because you gave Great Danes and low carb! Would love to see your new family members. Looking forward to a new year low carbing. You are such an inspiration.
Lynn Terry says
Thanks, Julie! It’s been a big adjustment bringing a second (grown) dane into my home, but we’ve been having great fun with it so far. 🙂 He’s a beauty. I shared a picture of him here, on my Facebook Page, but I’ll have to get one of all three of us together. 🙂
Carey says
I’m ready to ring in the new year as well! I’ve lost 12 lbs on this woe that I started a month ago! I did fall off the wagon a little bit over the holiday but I’m back on track! Looking forward to your blog thanks for keeping me motivated!
Lynn Terry says
Way to go, Carey! That’s great that you’ve lost 12 pounds so fast, and that you didn’t let the holiday totally derail you. 🙂 Kudos! That’s the key of course – getting right back on track the next day.
I have off-plan days here and there myself, sometimes “just because”. There’s no harm in that as long as you don’t let it go on for dayS – or worse, weeks. 😛 lol. The only real downside is having to go through “induction flu” all over again, which is worse for some people than it is others…
Donna B says
I’m so glad you posted! I’ve been missing your posts and updates. You make a great accountability partner, whether you knew it or not! 😉 Thanks!
Lynn Terry says
That makes my day, Donna! Thank you. 🙂 🙂 It’s been a crazy busy month, but it’s so great to be back. I’ve missed all of you too!! *cheers*
Joan Davis Brown says
I’ve been off track on and off since I turned 60 an 11/14. I got back on track today. I need to lose 20 or more lbs by May.
Thank God for this site and u, u r a blessing.
Lynn Terry says
A belated Happy Birthday to you, Joan! 🙂
I’m glad you’re back on track now. It sounds like there are a lot of us that are going to end this year STRONG together, which will be a lot of fun!
Joan says
Thanks Lynn!
Yes we will.
2016 will be even better!

.ppl help with a simple meal.
Lynn Terry says
Hi Debbie,
What frustrates you, exactly – just your weight loss being slow/stalled? How are you tracking? I’m happy to help. First, read: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/5093/not-losing-weight-eating-low-carb/ and check those four points. 🙂
Barb says
Lynn,
Tear a couple of thin strips of tape. Tape your injured toe to the toe next to it. Strain or break this should lend support and decrease any discomfort that you are having.
Lynn Terry says
Thank you, Barb. 🙂 I have some compression stockings I thought I might use (along with tape) but it seems to be healing fairly well so I’m just staying off of it as much as I can.
I can’t wait to get back to my walks with the danes! It does help that it’s raining nonstop here this week though, lol – so at least I’m not stuck “sitting” on a PRETTY day. 😛 haha
lisa says
O my gosh i just bumped into your blog from pinterest after typing in “lazy low carb”…im with you! Im not sure about the smokin hot part for me but id be thrilled to cruise on in to january in stealth mode..more my style and ill cheer you on in your smokin hot pursuit! Thank you for your inspiration tonight !
Lynn Terry says
Welcome to the family, Lisa! 🙂 lol @ “lazy low carb” – it’s one of my favorite hash tags and sayings. I’m so glad you found some inspiration here. And as for “smokin hot” – hey, a lady can dream right? lol 😛 It’ll take a lot more than a few short weeks to reach THAT goal, haha! *cheers*
Betty says
Is almond/meal flour and almond flour the same thing. I know one has a texture of meal so what happens if I use it with cream cheese?
Lynn Terry says
Hi Betty,
Almond Meal and Almond Flour are the same thing. I buy mine here: http://www.netrition.com/cgi/goto.cgi?pid=230-0001&aid=3558 and the package says Almond Meal / Flour. 🙂
