I started our mini-challenge on Monday at 155.4 pounds. This morning I woke up weighing 152.8 pounds. That’s a sweet 2.6 pound loss in five short days!
I tend to lose weight very slowly for a couple of reasons. First because I’m closer to my goal weight. And also because I’m post-hysterectomy. Which means I struggle just to maintain my weight, and can put weight on faster than you can say “EAT!” -lol.
Below is what I ate yesterday, along with a copy of my Food Diary in MyFitnessPal so you can see my total macronutrient breakdown. You can see my other meals this week in my Low Carb Food Journal.
I’m cooking sausage & fried eggs while I write this. 🙂
Friday’s Low Carb Meals & Macros
I had a busy morning, so I just grabbed a quick low carb snack on my way out the door yesterday: 1/4 cup pecan halves & .60 ounces of colby jack cheese. Better than a bar or shake, REAL FOOD, and healthy fats to fuel my day!
270 calories, 1 net carb
88% fat & 10% protein
My lunch was a whopping 8 net carbs! 1/2 cup Daisy brand cottage cheese, 1/2 cup chopped pecans & 3 strawberries. All real foods, and a very healthy combination:
537 calories
8 net carbs, 14 total
80% fat, 14% protein
19 grams of protein
My low carb dinner: take-out leftovers! Grilled chicken & roasted veggies:
Later that night I had a slice of cheese: 0.6 oz off my Colby Jack Cheese Block. It was just a quick snack, but I find about half or one ounce of REAL cheese to be very filling. 🙂
Here’s My MyFitnessPal Diary For Friday:
See: Understanding Macronutrients (Why It Matters)
And: How to get Net Carbs in MyFitnessPal
I’m trilled to be almost 3 pounds lighter today!
I already mentioned the sausage and eggs for breakfast today, and I think lunch will be Grilled Tilapia. I picked up a few more groceries yesterday…
Here’s the low carb groceries I got this week *cheers*

Well congrats on the loss! That’s awesome, 2.6! I’m very and I mean very! disappointed in my loss, I have been trying hard and thought I was being really good and I just can’t seem to lose any weight at all. When I first started the Keto diet I was losing 2 – 3 lbs a week, now nothing??
Lynn Terry says
Hi Roye,
You won’t lose every week, and sometimes for a few weeks in a row. I don’t and I have heard the same from many others.
Have you changed anything since you were losing consistently? Added anything, stopped doing something, etc? If so, go back to what was working. If not… keep doing what was obviously working well for you. π
How are you tracking, btw? I’m happy to help! Do you know your usual fat/protein ratios?

Well I confess, I didn’t do all that well for these first few days. We are home now, and I’m ready to get back on track. Brats and sauerkraut for dinner, a few nuts for lunch., but breakfast was a cheat, an egg burrito, 24 carbs. Tomorrow is a new day. Yay.
Lynn Terry says
Welcome back, Clarise! I’m glad you’re jumping right back on track. π That’s the best way to do it!

Thank you, Tammy! π *cheers*

Hi Lynn
I would like to do the 90 day challenge. Can I start today or do I need to wait for a 90 day challenge to start. I’ve been trying to do the LCHF but seem to bounce around with the same 5lbs. for about 3wks now.. yesterday I fell off the wagon… ate some cookies and was sicker than a dog…lol.. that will teach me!! I feel I need something to follow for awhile to get the hang of this. I really want to get some weight off by Christmas. I’ve followed you some and have been trying to figure the right balance of things to eat. It’s so encouraging to see everyone’s uplifting comments and beautiful pics. Wow what a difference in so many who lose from LCHF way of eating. I’m going to start following you so I can get this figured out. I love your simplicity. Soon I’m going to be team driving a dually truck with my husband and will have to eat out or fix our meals to go. So I want to glean from your experiences. Thank you for sharing all you do. You look fabulous, you are fun and exciting to hear from. I’m ready to jump on board with your advice. Keep up the great job you are a blessing to so many. thanks Kathy

Congrats to you! I am actually a slow loser also…..my highest weight was 195 in 2004…over 11 years I worked on different diets to get down. I kept going down, stalling many times but downward I came. I fact I use to be 5’6″ when I started and now I am 5’5″ because in 2010 I had a hip replacement, because of arthritis degeneration in the hip area I guess I compressed in my height. And for a person that was losing. I was mortified that now I was an inch shorter and the hip appliance they put in me weighed #5…..did that stop me, no I was 162 when that all happened, but a inch shorter! Crap? Now I can’ use the same chart and I have to lose more weight.
I am blood pressure mess and thyroid (since I was 20). And in April I started having insulin spikes. At that time April 2015 I was wearing size 8 and weighing 157-153 holding since 2011. I also was walking 6 miles a day and doing floor weights routine for 35 minutes a day….every day, so in April I read the book by Jorge Cruise ( that I had for 6 months) was in Palm Springs in our Motor Home……we are snow birds, 4 months in Motor home. Well anyway Cruise said count your sugar and explained that carbs must be counted as that is what carbs are…… I gave up sugar. flour, rice, and all that is related….all of a sudden spikes went away, the scale started to move downward again and I just recently cut my 2.5 exercise program down to 1.5 hours a day.
I am proud to announce…10-19-15 145#. Today 10-26-15 141#. A total of 4 lbs and size 8 is a little too big….looks like I will end up a size 6. At 71 my doctor says I’m her poster child. I fact she asked me the books I am reading as she is going to get them. I have done this all on my own, but I must say you have motivated me and I have enjoyed your honesty thru it all. God bless you for all you do for so many followersβ€οΈ
