Have you ever heard the saying ‘If you fail to plan, you fail to plan’? Well, when it comes to losing some of those excess pounds and what you are going to eat, having some simple meal plans for weight loss is definitely a good strategy.
Without low carb meal plans, it is way too easy to go and choose those naughty foods or grab some take out. So here are a few things to think about for planning your weekly menus…
1. DO IT
Unless you make time to plan, it’s not going to happen and although it sounds simple you have to actually DO IT! So take action, take time out and plan well for your week so there’s no deviance to your plan.
2. Check out your diary
What’s going on during the week? Do you have to ship kids around in the afternoons? Will you be working late? What days will you have more time to cook? Think about your schedule and timeframes and imagine how your meals will fit in with what you are doing during the week.
3. Have a big cook up
If you have more time on the weekends, plan to have a big cook up. Choose recipes you can freeze in portions, cut up all your salad vegetables ready to go and put them in containers, cut up all your vegetables to save time during the week. Freeze meat in correct portions for defrosting.
4. Write it down
Unless you write it down, how will you remember it? Buy yourself a dedicated book or folder you can use for weekly meal plans. Once you start developing a habit you can look back over your previous meal plans and start developing combos, or put your plans on a rostering cycle.
5. Keep it exciting
Don’t cook the same things week in and week out. That’s one sure way to get bored with your food and opt for the easiet, quickest and most delicious hings available and you don’t want that do you? Make sure you add at least one new recipe a week to the mix, that way you’ll keep it exciting.
6. Think about food quality and balance
The best kind of diet is an all natural weight loss plan filled with real food that gets real results. Proteins help you burn fat faster and make you feel full. Vegetables should make up a large proportion of your carbohydrates. Grains and fruits should be kept to a minimum. And good healthy fats should be included in small amounts to help satisfy hunger and fuel your engines more. Of course you need to cut out all those junk foods and sugars and focus on eating good quality foods for best results.
Meal planning is a habit just like anything else, but it’s one of the best ways to stay on track with your weight loss goals. So go grab a pen and paper, make a cup of tea, and start brainstorming Low Carb Meal Plans for your next menu! 🙂
