I’m struggling lately. Not just with my appetite and mindset (self sabotage?) but also with stress and my crazy schedule lately.
I feel overwhelmed with both work and food choices, and of course I’m dealing with my gut health issues still! 🙄 etc, etc, etc.
That’s life, right? 😛 I hopped on and did a live video chat about it all yesterday, and just talking it out made me feel TONS better. So if YOU need to “talk it out” leave a comment… and let’s chat. 😉
I have a question I’d LOVE YOUR FEEDBACK on, if you could just take a minute to leave a fast comment – or a detailed one! 🙂
Question: What would YOU most like to hear from me next?
I’m in the process of writing a detailed post for you with low carb restaurant & fast food ideas, plus how to log your keto macros for special orders – or at least KNOW what you’re eating (if you don’t track macros).
I think you’ll really like that post. I’ll send it out to you by email ASAP, so keep an eye on your inbox for it!
I have TONS of topics in queue for you after that, while I’m busy playing catch-up here 🙂 but I would love to hear what YOU most want to learn more about – or what you struggle with most…
Just a few of the topics I have lined up include:
* Why I DO NOT recommend exogenous ketones
* Easy at-home low carb meal ideas
* Keto friendly restaurant meal ideas
* Dealing with self-destructive dieting behavior & mindset issues
* The benefits of collagen
* Bring back your daily food diaries already! (haha)
* My thoughts on intermittent or extended fasting
Those are some of the topics I get asked about MOST lately, but I’d love to hear what’s most important to YOU right now. Especially if it’s NOT on that list. 😉

Speaking of great low carb restaurant meals, I met a friend for lunch in the city earlier this week and we both had an AMAZING 16 ounce bone-in ribeye. 😍
She wanted some olive oil to drizzle over her veggies, and I just happened to have a portable packet of super clean olive oil in my bag. I pretty much travel everywhere with MCT Oil, avocado oil and olive oil packets in my bag because they’re VERY compact – and you can’t always trust restaurant dressings. 😉
You probably already know how much I love the FBOMB nut butter packets. Those are a staple for me on the go, at my desk or in a pinch.
But they have portable premium oil packets you can use on the go too!
Their MCT Oil packets are what I use when I’m out & about or traveling.
I wanted to give you a chance to try their oils, so I scored you a FREE BOX OF OILS from them. 🙂
Use code LYNNFREE at https://www.travelinglowcarb.com/fatbomb Just add any two 10-packs of nut butter and any FBOMB Oil 10-pack to your cart, add code LYNNFREE and you’ll get the 24.99 box of oils FREE! 🎁
If you don’t want the free oils, use code LOWCARBTRAVELER for a discount on any other FBOMB order.
There’s other news from FBOMB too so I did a quick a video here with all the fun updates, and the Free Oil deal I negotiated for you…

Another video I did recently was this DELICIOUS One Skillet Keto Meal: Easy Low Carb Dinner that everyone LOVED.
I made that meal using some of the SIMPLE low carb foods I picked up at the grocery store last week. I’ll share my grocery cart pictures with you in that next post too – along with the restaurant & fast food ideas.
EASY meal ideas is what helps me stay on track when life gets hectic! 😉
If you have any questions about the deals I negotiated for you, or about one of the products at either of those companies, just let me know.
In the meantime…
I cannot wait to hear your feedback on topic ideas!
I’ve been crazy busy lately and haven’t had a chance to sit down and write like I used to. And I really miss our chats & discussions here! So hit me with your “hot topics” and let’s get back on a roll…

Hi!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on different types of fasting. I’m dabbling in Alternate Day Fasting and The Every Other Day diet right now. It is technically not fasting as you are allowed up to 500 calories on your “fast” day. I’ve dropped about 6 lbs in just over a month…would have been more except for a 5 day beach trip where I did no fasting.
Also, the benefits of collagen would be a good read too.
Thanks!

Hi Lori π Thank you for the feedback! I’d love to hear more about those two types of fasting you’re testing. Are you also eating a ketogenic low carb diet otherwise, and is the 6 pounds in a month typical for you – or more than average if you stay keto consistently? I’m curious how it compares to “consistent keto.” π
How do you FEEL when you do fasting, and what is your mindset about it – going into it, during it, and afterward? I appreciate any insight you’re willing to share about it. Very curious!

Hi Lynn,
I have been basically eating a Keto or LC diet for the past 7 years. I’m down a total of 55 lbs from my high in 2012. My pattern was to lose some, then maintain for awhile, then lose more etc. I’ve been stuck at about 25 lbs from my goal for a LONG time, so started the Alternate Day or Every Other Day diet. Losing 6 lbs in a month was fantastic for me! Some people zero calorie fast on their DDs(down days), but I like to have a few calories at days end. I do have non-LC treats now and then, so I know I self-sabotage at times, but that’s life, you know? I do also try to wait till about Noon to eat on my UDs(Up days), but not if I’m extremely hungry. I feel good when fasting and actually have more energy most fasting days. I can be active with no problem since I’m pretty much fat adapted from so many years on a LC diet.
I’m hoping to soon see a new, lower number on the scale…still recovering from my Virginia Beach vacation! π

That’s a HOT topic lately, lol – so I’ll definitely address that one ASAP. I appreciate your kind words and your note Mel, thank you!! π
I’m feeling TONS better than I was a few months ago btw, it’s just a LONG process to recover from gut health issues. As soon as my schedule opens up a little, I’m going for a follow-up appt with my GI specialist, just to get some professional input.

I hesitated about writing this because I’m so disappointed in my efforts to lose weight yet again on this way of eating. I’ve just spent six weeks where I lost six pounds the first week and then have since gained it all back. I do this every time I try it. I track my food and most days I’m under on something but will occasionally be over. I just don’t see how I’m not losing like everyone else. I don’t like bacon and eggs for breakfast so I purchased a few Slim Fast Keto bars and Atkins bars. I rarely have diet Grapico and sugar free Jell-O. I haven’t tried MCT oil other than what is in the Keto bars I purchased and I haven’t tried other products because I didn’t want to spend money and not like them. I’m frustrated. And angry. And want to just walk away again. I only have about 30 pounds to lose at the most. Maybe less. I’m going to be 60 in February. And yes I drink water. Lots of water. I tried making pancakes from a recipe with almond flour…..I ate them only because I was starving for something different but will never make them again. Texture was terrible. I feel like everything I eat has cheese in it. I bought a Keto cookbook from Delish. It’s ok but I don’t like a lot of the foods they want me to cook and eat. I went to a wedding last weekend and had a cheese plate while everyone else ate the really good food. And truthfully it hasn’t bothered me to not eat carbs etc because I have been satisfied with my bars. Maybe they are the problem. Who knows. Anyway, will think this over a day or two but I’m just not sure I want to commit to more disappointment. Thanks for letting me vent.

Hi Cindy,
Do you have any idea what you’re doing different in the first week, than the next 4-5 weeks? Did you have the bars during week one too? And were you tracking your macros and being super consistent for the six straight weeks?
I’m happy to help you work through this with a few more details. π
Personally I would test going NO BARS and no products at all (jello, soda, etc) but just super simple whole foods, with as few ingredients as possible. Try that for two weeks and see what happens, because it works like a charm for everyone that’s tried it and reported back!
Here’s a simple explanation and illustration of that method, which I call 3IMAX: https://www.travelinglowcarb.com/6064/3-ingredients-rule/

I believe I would benefit from an elimination testing. I know you wrote about it before but I am still unclear as to how yo get started. Do I eliminate all foods that could be inflammatory then add them back slowly. I have an auto immune disease so inflammation is the main reason I began this WOE. How long do I eat clean before adding a food I want to test. It seems so complicated. Thanks for any help you have time to provide. I greatly appreciate you and your insight.

Exogenous Ketones! I’ve been waiting patiently since you mentioned awhile back you were going to write why you DON’T. I started following someone you mentioned in a post and she is always promoting them. Claiming the mental clarity and energy specifically (along with the weight loss boost, of course). I trust your honesty about so many products, so I’m curious your thoughts (and most likely research because that’s another awesome trait of yours).
Thank you for sharing so much of yourself. Have a happy day.
