Keto Friendly Wine thatโs less than 2 carbs for the ENTIRE BOTTLE & doesnโt knock you out of ketosisโฆ and a low carb red wine that doesnโt give me an instant migraine?!
Plus a keto wine club that doesnโt require membership and allows you to order single bottles? BINGOโฃ Secco Wine Club was a GREAT find!
Actually they found ME and sent me three bottles of their sugar free wine, keto line PALO61, to try. I was impressed enough with the company AND their wine to work with them to open the discussion with my Facebook and Instagram friends.
They sponsored those posts and this one to help spread the word about what makes their โketogenic approved wineโ unique. They also created a generous savings code for us! Use code LOWCARBTRAVELER for complimentary shipping on 3+ bottles.
Iโll share my thoughts after enjoying a couple of glasses of this โmagic wineโ myself, as well as the great points brought up in our discussions around the web โ because you might have some of the same questions. ๐
Secco Wine Club is not the only company to offer a dry-farmed low carb wine, but it DOES have some distinct differences from others out there, making their PALO61 ketogenic friendly wines a GREAT choiceโฆ
Most wines have over 75 chemicals, are full of sugar and high carb, contain byproducts & artificial ingredients โ but youโd never know, because there is no labeling required on wine.โฃ ๐ณ
(I had NO idea store bought wines were full of so much unnecessary stuff!)
โฃ
- The PALO61 from Secco Wine Club has less than half a carb per 5oz glass and less than 2 carbs per entire bottle! โฃ๐ท๐พโค
โฃ
- PALO61 has ๐ซ NO sugar and ๐ซ no chemicals added, and they DO have a nutrition label โ unlike most wines.
โฃ
- Theyโre non-gmo organic wines. All of their wines use grapes that have been dry farmed from Italy and have wonderful natural flavors, with old world organic wine making practices.
- Unlike most wine companies, they own the entire lifecycleโฆ.from grape to glass. โWe tend to our grapes, make our wine, test for purity and bottleโฆ all under our control.โ
- You donโt have to subscribe to monthly shipments or join the club to order it either, like most wine clubs. You can order single bottles without joining, directly from their website. ๐พ

- Sue asked: โIโm allergic to the sulfates in wine. Is this sulfate free? I would love a glass at times.โ Secco Wine Club replied: โThere is always a natural occurring level in all wines. We are well below 100PPM. We have had this question before and people with sensitivities have had no issues to date.โ
- It did NOT knock me out of ketosis or affect my blood sugar or ketone levels. Itโs keto safe (no sugar, no chemicals).โฃ
They were featured in last monthโs Keto Krate box (with an insert) so itโs been a hot topic around the web. Perfect timing to have a conversation with one of the founders of Secco Wine Club and get all the juicy details. ๐ ๐
I donโt drink very often, just socially now and then, but after reading up on this company and their PALO61 keto wine line, I was intrigued enough to pop the cork and give it a goโฆ
I always choose blush or rosรฉ as red wines typically give me an INSTANT migraine. โฃAs much as I want to avoid THAT (ugh!) I was interested to see if this PALO61 low carb red wine (with zero chemicals) would have the same effect on me โ because I do love the taste of red wine, Iโve just never been able to drink it.โฃ

Keto Wine Review: PALO61
โฃ
It was WAY better than I expected. I figured dry-farmed and sugar free wine, surely it will taste super dry and maybe even bitter โ right? ๐ Wrong! It had a very pleasant flavor, and it wasnโt dryer to me than the store-bought brand I usually drink.
I even got brave and tried their red keto wine. NO instant migraine per my usual response to redsโฆ impressive!
I enjoyed the rose/blush most, but thatโs always been my preference. Theyโre all quite nice though. I especially love that theyโre โcleanโ โ no sugar, no chemicals, just good clean organic wine. ๐
But mostly I love a GREAT glass of wine is less than half a carb!
The wine I usually drink is 4-6 carbs per glass. This is less than 2 carbs per bottle!
Interestingly the alcohol content is actually higher than the Beringer White Zinfandel I usually drink too.
The alcohol content is 13% on the red, 12% on the white & rose. The Beringer I used to drink is 10%. Secco Wine Club responded on this, saying:
โAn important thing to note is that we keep all of our wines below 13% ABV to ensure only a natural fermentation process takes place: no chemicals, no funny businessโฆ just old world organic wine making.โ ๐ท๐โค๏ธ

You donโt have to subscribe to monthly shipments to try it. You can order single bottles without a membership. ๐พ Pricing varies from $17 to $26 depending on bottle and club options. You get a nice savings with their wine club, so if you find that you love it thatโs definitely the better valueโฆ
I love that you have the option to just order single bottles. โฃ
They did sponsor my public conversation about their wines on Facebook and Instagram as well as this blog post, and they did give us a complimentary shipping code (LOWCARBTRAVELER) but I donโt earn commission on sales or anything. They also sent me a bottle of each to try so I could give you feedback and let you know what theyโre like. I actually approached them about opening this conversation with you because I felt like this one something youโd WANT to know more about. ๐
It also gives you a space to ask them questions if thereโs anything I didnโt cover in this post for you, so feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions!
Cathy said: โIโve had these PALO61 keto wines and Iโm very impressed. Iโm usually not a rose person but this one is delicious! Iโve stopped buying liquor store wine and belong to Scout & Cellar wine club and joining Secco Wine Club soon. Itโs horrible to think about all the chemical and pesticides found in regular wine!!! This is where Iโll splurge!!โ
(Note: Scout & Cellar Wine Club doesnโt have a vineyard or make their own wines, or โown the process from grape-to-glassโ like Secco Wine Club. They literally โscoutโ other vineyards for new wines all the time, and โverifyโ that itโs clean-crafted. I did find a bottle of Rosรฉ I might try on their website, but there are NO nutrition facts listed or labels shown โ so I have no idea what their carb counts are like. They also rotate wines monthly, so if you find one you DO like, you have to buy it up fast because it rotates out and itโs gone for good.)
Ana said: โThe PALO61 Red Wine is awesome! Rose is next on my list. The white is my least favorite but overall, great wine! I joined the club! :)โ

๐ Someone mentioned making a โwine spritzerโ with Sprite zero and ice & another person suggested adding a few blueberries to the bottom of your glass โ both sound like a delicious way to enjoy wine!โฃ
โฃ
My take: Iโm impressed with them โ company & product both. โฃThis keto wine is legit, and itโs really cool to have wine options to suit everyone in one bottle: diabetic, vegan, keto, food snobs ๐ lolโฆ and itโs a truly GREAT wine!

โฃ
โPlease post an update on the red โ the tannins usually give me a migraine too!โ
As I mentioned, I didnโt get a migraine from the PALO61 red wine (a first for me with reds!), and Secco Wine Club replied saying:
โTo be honest the headaches for most people are from the high levels of sugar in wine, or the 75 + chemicals that are allowed to be used in todayโs wine making process ๐คฏ. Thatโs what makes us specialโฆjust pure wine from dry farmed grapes. ๐ท๐ โ

Have you tried Secco Wine Clubโs PALO61 yet?
I would love to hear what you thinkโฆ and what you usually drink!โฃ ๐

Just a quick question. I love sweet wines. If they are dry???, they taste like a beer and I do not like any kind of beer. Which of these would be the sweetest tasting? Would it be the white or the rose? I was thinking white maybe??? I tried buying dry wines because they were supposed to be lower in carbs, but then I wouldnโt drink them! lol (wasted money!) Thanks
Definitely the Rose I think, but it didnโt taste at all like beer to me. And I do like beer. ๐ One trick someone mentioned with dryer wines is to add blueberries to the bottom of the glass to sweeten it up. I love that idea!
Hi Tina,
Its really hard to say which wine you will like best since everyone has a different palate. I can promise you our wines do not taste like beer ๐
My suggestion would be to order 3 bottles (red, white, rose)โฆuse the code in blog for complimentary shipping and then you can make a better decision. Our most popular style of PALO61 has been the redโฆ.but again, I canโt definitively say that will be your favorite.
Appreciate your interest in our wines!
You did not address the effect off alcohol on Blood sugar Our bodies convert alcohol directly to sugar and it takes 2 days at least for the liver to excrete it from our systems
The wine may be low carb but not alcohol free And alcohol is inverted into sugar
I donโt mind If I do choose to drink wine I would definitely try this low carb option and more than that for the chemical free option
But I do expect a stall in weight loss afterconsuming any type of alcohol That is just how it works
I did actually address that. I said that it did not affect my blood sugar or ketone levels or knock me out of ketosis. I tested it with a blood glucose/ketone testing meter before sharing it publicly.
Whether it is true that your body converts alcohol to sugar is highly debated. Especially in alcohol that contains no sugar, in a body that is fat fueled instead of carb/sugar fueled. I havenโt seen any clinical studies done on that.
The โalcohol stallโ is common because your body has to metabolize alcohol before anything else, and takes longer to metabolize than food, which could mean you donโt see the scales move for a few days.
I didnโt experience that with this wine, but I didnโt consume more than a serving either. I still lost weight that week.
My doctor told me that alcohol increases insulin production in our bodies Thus it can raise our blood sugar whether it is sugar free or not The issue with wine or other alcoholic beverages is the the alcohol The liver works overtime to excrete the alcohol out of our bodies as it considers it a poison
Anyway the SF wine is a better option if we have to have a glass of wine plus the lack of chemicals in this wine is most important imho for our overall health Regular wine is full of nasty chemicals
So this is a good option regardless of the effects onblood sugar
Lyn Something you must realize and I am sure you do is that Science is science It is never an exact art and is forever changing with new research all the time
Tomorrow, the research may say we were all wrong about everything we thought to be true
Just because one thing doesnโt raise your blood sugar does not mean it is the case for all of us
I research everything myself and question everything I worked in the medical field for 30 plus years
Research is always coming out with new theories etc on everything
Cheers
Absolutely, I love all the emerging studies and new science! ๐
I have talked a lot about bio-individuality lately, and encourage everyone to do their own testing for that reason.
From keto wine to my Starbucks order and everything in between, I share my thoughts & experiences & results here openly so people have more options and information to consider.

I just ordered 3 bottles of the red (red is all I drink). Will report back once I taste it.
I canโt wait to hear what you think of it, Betsy. ๐ Which reds do you normally drink? It was hard for me to give a true comparison since I havenโt been able to drink red wine in SO long. This one was really pleasant though, not so โthickโ as some I recall trying years ago, but a great flavor. And no migraine within the first sip or two, yay!
Can you Drink this wine if youโre a diabetic and on Metformin?
I am assuming these are all dry wines?
This sounds really good, but I just tried the code with the wine club, and it didnโt work. ??? Hmmm. Iโll have to wait until I get back to San Diego in June anyway, as they apparently donโt ship to Hawaii.
