I visit downtown Chattanooga quite a bit, and I usually stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. It’s a great little spot, and a very nice choice of the various downtown Chattanooga TN hotels.
This last trip though, I stayed at the Marriott Courtyard Chattanooga Downtown. It’s only a block or two closer to the river, but I found it to be MUCH more convenient to all the things I wanted to do while in Chattanooga.
And I have to say, the staff was second to none. They were always smiling, helpful with directions, and even stamped & mailed a postcard for me!
They also had a Starbucks on site. 😀 The food was good as well, and they had plenty of options on the menu – including a grilled chicken caesar salad if you wanted some good low carb room service. 😉
They offered free Wi-Fi, not only in the rooms but throughout the hotel (lobby, coffee shop, etc). They also sent me an email with my reservation details, and included all kinds of great links – things to do, local restaurants, an itinerary planner, the weather forecast, etc. Nice!
We weren’t really sure what all we wanted to get into, so before we took off for Chattanooga I did a little research online. I came across a great website called Chattanooga Fun.
They have a (current!) calendar of events, which is where we discovered the Chattanooga Dinner Cruise.
Everything was in easy walking distance from the Marriott. We were right across the street from the Tennessee Aquarium, and just a couple blocks from Pier 2 and the Tennessee River.
The picture to the right was taken from my room on the 3rd floor, before the fog lifted that morning.
Here are the things we got into while in Chattanooga for the weekend…
- Southern Belle Riverboat
- Tennessee Aquarium (I got bit by a fish! LOL)
- Walked the Pedestrian Bridge
- Christmas Lights on the TN River
- Movies at the new Majestic 12 Theater
- Murder Mystery Dinner at Vaudeville Cafe
We also went to one of my *favorite* little sushi bars, Sekisui, and I saved $25 on our dinner with a Restaurant.com gift certificate – which only cost me two bucks using the coupon code. 🙂
Anyway, if you’re looking for Downtown Chattanooga TN Hotels, I highly recommend the Marriott Courtyard. I’ll definitely be staying there again myself!
