I had a non-stop busy day on Thursday. I got up early and knocked out some work in the home office, so I just grabbed a couple of the Low Carb Banana Bread Muffins and ate those for breakfast while I was working. Like I mentioned yesterday, they’re not my favorite – but they were already made and a quick & easy bite to eat.
I’m hoping my Quest Bars arrive today, because I really prefer those as a quick breakfast with my morning coffee. Or for a snack anytime, really. My favorite is the Mixed Berry Bliss!
I had plans to go to my first (ever!) hockey game, which was Predators/Lightning at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
I’m not necessarily a hockey (or sports) fan, but I was invited to join some friends and I figured it was something to experience at least once!
I’m about 90 minutes outside of Nashville, so I had to wrap up the day early – including making sure the dog & daughter were taken care of before I took off.
I grabbed a quick sandwich from Hardee’s for lunch – just a Hot Ham & Cheese, and of course I just ate the Ham & Cheese part.
It was great (!) but a bit messy. Not something I would eat on the road without wet wipes handy (lol). Fortunately I ate it before I left home so I was able to wash my hands before I hit the road. 😉
Knowing we were going to eat at the hockey game, and having no idea what all they would have at the Bridgestone Arena, I did toss a Low Carb Tortilla into my bag (in a Ziploc of course!) before I walked out the door. I figured I might be eating a big fat burger in my lap during the game or something.
Of course that got funny looks from the security guy that checked my bag going in. 😛 haha
We ended up having time to sit down and eat before the game, and there were forks (yay!) so I didn’t need the tortilla after all. I got a big fat Bacon Cheeseburger and just ate it with a fork. Unfortunately they didn’t have a substitution for the fries, so they had to go to waste (better than going to MY waist! ha!)…
So that was all I ended up having yesterday: a couple muffins, hot ham & cheese – and a bacon cheeseburger minus the bun & fries. Oh, and a few miniature Sugar Free Hershey’s Bars. 🙂 And no, I did not end up getting my workout in (yet again, *sigh*).
I usually eat a lot more than that in a given day, and generally have something green in there somewhere, but it was what it was – just grabbing something on the go all day.
What about you? I would love to hear how your day went!
Oh – and the hockey game was neat. The Predators won 5-2 and I enjoyed watching it and figuring out the game. Probably not something I would really get into, but it was cool to experience it live! It probably would have been A LOT better if I could have had one of those tempting Funnel Cakes while I watched the game. 😛 LOL… Ahh well. I’m just glad I made it through the day without veering off my low carb diet – hard as it was.

LOL! That was too funny! I’m glad you clarified that for us Lynn π

OMGoodness! I should have finished reading this post first before commenting. I’m laughing so hard!
Now, imagine the look you would have gotten if the Tortilla’s were NOT in a ziplock bag. Before I read this, I was already envisioning a dusty, lint covered tortilla with makeup spills on it……LOL!

Yuck! LOL – yeah, I always put them in a Ziploc. I tend to carry them with me if I’m going to be out and might want a big messy sandwich on the go. It’s one thing to make finger food out of a hamburger at home, but that’s not something I’d want to do out in public – haha. It’d make quite a scene! π

Good job. I admire a woman who can pass up a Funnel Cake. When I read that, “Susan” poked her head around the corner. I very gently, but firmly told her to go sit down. Hope your Saturday is low-carb lovely.

That was a tough one. I think I was actually talking out loud when I repeated “keep walking, keep walking, keep walking…” until I got past the funnel cake stand. LOL.
L.M. says
Yeah, stay away from State and County fairs. It’s not just funnel cake and elephant ears, but every fried food imaginable. I can never quite make Fried Green Tomatoes the same way as the fair…
Lynn Terry says
I’ll keep that in mind, and be sure to eat a HUGE meal before going to a fair or carnival π I can only imagine the non-stop temptations there! lol…
Called 2 Action says
Hi Lynn,
Are you for real, gee all that ham and cheese, wow and you can lose weight wow I’d love to be your Cook at home you would not be jumping from this to that and forgetting your exercise, oh my but I don’t think any offers will come so have nice week Lady and be careful. but eat well. Called 2 Action.
Lynn Terry says
Jumping from this to that, meaning what? Eggs, meat & cheese are a very regular part of a low carb diet… you lost me. π
Called 2 Action says
hi Lynn, you are right, I was just testing the baromiter to get a bite, I really do understand about trying to lose weight but have tried all the atkins diets like the one you are on and with me it was an up and down the scale but the weight scales only went up not down, so I have gotten onto our Australian diet which seems to be all the rage with the women here also now the men.
But as they tell us still have to exercise, so its a worry. but my weight has stablized now and i’m loosing a couple Pounds a week, so i’m happy with that and feel good but i have to shut my eyes in the samwich shop (all those nice cakes and buns) lol you have 10/10 for your determined attitude Lynn love your posts and encouragements so please i’m not wanting to be hurtful its not me if I lived over there close to TN I’d Cook you and your family nice healthy meal. called to action.
Lynn Terry says
Hi Garry,
Totally off topic, but what’s with the “called to action” and “called 2 action” when you comment here? Do you not want people to know who you are, or what’s the deal?
Vicki says
Good to know! We go to Preds games often (I’m here in Nashville as well) and since I’m just getting back in the Atkins swing of things, I’m a bit nervous about what to do in the scary outside world. I’m a new reader and love your blog!

Thank you Vickie & welcome! It’s great to meet another local. π I’m about 90 minutes SE of Nashville but I’m in the area now and then for meetups and events. Maybe one of these days we can get together for a fun low carb lunch. π
