Challenge Details: Important Links & Information
The year-end Low Carb Challenge runs from December 6th to December 30th, 2017.
Starting Weigh-In Thread In The Private Group
Make sure you weigh-in at the link above, in a comment below here on this post, or in your MyFitnessPal account (or whatever app/method you use to track your progress).
We’ll have our final weigh in on the morning of December 31st.
Join us for a 25 days of FUN, challenging ourselves to power through the holidays feeling lean & confident!
This challenge is only 3 1/2 weeks, just 25 days. It’s enough time to get into ketosis, increase your energy, drop that uncomfortable water weight and a few pounds, and feel amazing!
The timing is perfect to look & feel awesome for the New Year! 🙂
The challenge: To eat low carb for 25 straight days!
That means: 20 net carbs per day max, 70% fat minimum.
By committing to this challenge you agree to stay on track for the next 25 days by eating 20 net carbs per day MAX, and at least 70% of your calories in healthy fats.
What You Need To Know To Get Started:
Throughout the challenge I’ll share helpful tips & creative ideas, plus my own meals and MyFitnessPal logs. Watch for those in your inbox! You can “check in” on those posts. I’ll also send you LOTS of motivation & inspiration along the way. 🙂
Low Carb Challenge To-Do List
1. Weigh yourself first thing in the morning.
This is the ONLY true weigh-in, as your weight fluctuates 5 pounds or more throughout a single day. Post/Log your starting weight today.
2. Set up MyFitnessPal and record your weight there, and also log all of your meals.
This is how I have MyFitnessPal Set Up To Track Net Carbs.
That only works online, not on mobile/tablet.
3. Take body measurements as well, and record those in MyFitnessPal too.
Sometimes you’ll lose more inches than pounds, and it’s another great way to track your progress!
4. I highly recommend you take a “before photo” today. You’ll regret not having pictures to compare! Sometimes the scales may not show much loss, but comparison photos tell a different story. 🙂
5. Read The 8 links above. Educate yourself on how the Low Carb Diet (and this challenge) works!
Do These Steps:

I got on my fitness pal via laptop following your instructions from my phone. Never saw how to download the hack for total net carbs calculations via the laptop
Help
Lynn Terry says
Hi Cynthia,
The plugin for MyFitnessPal to make it track Net Carbs only works online in Firefox or Chrome browsers. This is how I have it set up: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/4448/myfitnesspal-hack/ I still use the mobile app to add foods on the go, but it won’t track net carbs on mobile.

I tried to join the challenge with my own price but it would not let me.I tried 2 different prices but it would state to enter a valid amount.
Lynn Terry says
Hi Sheila π The Challenge is free, but you’re referring to the Low Carb Classes at: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/low-carb-classes/ It sounds like the amount you entered wasn’t in the right format maybe?
If you go to: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/name-your-price in the “price per item” field just put in any dollar amount. Maybe it was a glitch though – did you try it on mobile or online – and if online, in which browser?
Sheila says
Thank you for your help.It let me join.
Lynn Terry says
I’m glad, Sheila π Enjoy the classes!!

Have you posted the dates for the next challenge yet? I’m looking forward to getting rid of this year’s weight gain and all the extras that came with it (depression, arthritis flare ups, body aches, plantar fasciitis out of control, loss of all self-confidence, etc.). I’ve been unable to get a grip of my sugar & carb addiction the last 6 months of the year and I’m really paying the price for it.
