Last night the plumber and I met our new friends Ken & Sherie out for dinner at a local Red Lobster. It was a great atmosphere for an enjoyable meal, with lots of laughs and good conversation. Not overly busy, excellent service, and the food was out of this world!
I never order crab legs there, by the way – or at any restaurant. I find they’re usually overcooked, which is what makes them so darn hard to get out of the shell (and the reason they serve tools with them -lol).
When I’m craving crab legs I make them at home. It’s really simple too. I bring a large pot of water to a boil, add in the frozen crab legs, turn off the heat, cover for 3 minutes, then remove them from the water & serve. That’s it! And you can crack ’em & eat ’em with no tools required. 😉 Anyway, back to my Red Lobster dinner last night…
First though, as you know I’m a fan of free printable restaurant coupons and restaurant gift certificates (given how much I eat out -lol), so I did a quick search online for Red Lobster Coupons. Bingo! You can get them by email just by signing up for their online club: Get Red Lobster Coupons Free.
Last night Sherie and I both ordered the “Steak Lobster-and-Shrimp Oscar”:
A wood-grilled 14 oz. NY Strip topped with Maine lobster meat, tender shrimp and fresh asparagus in a white wine and lobster butter sauce over mashed potatoes.
Of course, I had mine served with steamed broccoli instead of mashed potatoes. 😉
According to Red Lobster nutrition facts, this meal has 20 carbs. They don’t include a count for Fiber on that chart, so I’m not sure what the net carb count would be – or whether that carb count included the mashed potatoes. I’m assuming so, since the rest of the meal is all protein (steak & seafood)…
The photo above truly doesn’t do it justice. This was a HUGE plate of food, and deliciously rich! I knew for sure I was going to be taking at least half of it home to finish at another meal, but somehow I managed to finish the entire plate 😀 LOL. It was just THAT good!
I have no idea what the guys ate. I was so engrossed in my plate, and every single juicy bite, I don’t think I even looked up from the time our lovely waitress set the plate down in front of me. I’m not the best dinner date in the world, by the way. It’s hard to compete with my food. 😉
Another great low carb restaurant experience, one I’ll definitely be repeating, but not before I sign up for those free Red Lobster Coupons of course. So many more low carb menu items I want to try!

BAH! I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Red Lobster, I have no clue why, but I have! I love seafood! ha ha. And… if they serve HUGE portions then there is even more of a reason for me to go! π
