Apologies for going quiet. Many of you have checked in – thank you so much for that. Iโm not well.
I was diagnosed with bronchitis, bordering on pneumonia. Iโm on an antibiotic, but still battling the second wave of flu that did me in โ too.
I’ve also had an exceptional amount of stress in my life to deal with too, which is mentally exhausting โ on top of the physical exhaustion.
Iโve been resting a lot, drinking plenty of water, and taking good care of myself. I’ve had good friends taking care of me as well, which I’m incredibly grateful for. I’ll be back to my usual peppy self with tons of new posts & updates for you soon. ๐
♥ ♥ ♥ Thank you for your love, concern and understanding. ♥ ♥ ♥
I miss you, I miss our discussions, and I miss sharing my daily meals with you!
How are things going for you?
How are you doing with your low carb meals & macro tracking? Any questions or struggles? I would love to hear how your week is going and what you’re eating!

Sorry you have been sick. Praying for a speedy recovery. Hugs!
Hope you are feeling better already! Weekly weigh in for Cindy Rush 211.1 pounds!
Doing cross fit now also:0
I’m so sorry you’ve been ill…that is no fun. I miss your emails…but please take the time to take care of yourself. We can all wait..
I’m doing great on tracking carbs! Had to get rid of all nuts, nut butters and cream cheese..I just eat to much of those.
I have missed your e-mails! Please take care of yourself and feel better soon. I love all of your ideas regarding low carbs and love that breakfast of cottage cheese, nuts, and berries! I add a little cinnamon to mine! Take care and I hope you’re back to your normal self soon…
I hope you’re feeling well soon! Take care of yourself.
What to have for lunch (usually on-the-go) has always been a problem for me. After trying various foods, my solution is 12 olives and 1.5 oz cheese. It’s easy to carry around, has zero net carbs, and (surprisingly) I don’t get t hungry.
Like Angela, I’ve given up nuts. Next new food for me to try is broccoli. I haven’t had any since I was about 8 years old and, after tasting it and didn’t like it, never ate it again. FYI, I’m 67 now so maybe my taste has changed. We’ll see!
Hi Monique,
Try your broccoli roasted in the oven with olive oil, garlic cloves and a bit of salt. Mix in some other veggies too – I love it CRISP like that. ๐
Feel better soon! We miss you too!
Take care,
So sorry you’ve been so ill, I haven’t been posting but have missed your emails. Take care of yourself, that’s the most important thing right now, rest, rest, rest <3.
Oh no! I hope you feel better soon!
Be well Lynn. Take care of yourself! Know that all of your Low Carb friends are sending prayers.
Hi Lady,
You are missed. I am a lurker out here and I love your blog and recipes. The pancake recipe is great. And yes, it made great waffles. Might make some tomorrow. I make mine flavored differently. I add shredded cheese and green chile. Sounds weird but it is great with butter and salsa. Or just butter.
Get yourself well. Sometimes it just takes time and you know you need to listen to your body.
Hope you feel better soon. I will keep you in my prayers.
Hope you feel better! Week 5 and I’m stalled again. Bouncing from 193-197 since week 1. Changed several things at different times and did egg fast without success so far –I am blaming it on the dang menopause. But will keep at it!
Hi Debbie,
Try to just keep it simple: 20 net carbs max, 70% fat minimum. Track closely. Meat & greens + healthy fats. Super simple, no complicated recipes, real food (nothing processed) and 3-4 ingredients max per plate. That works really well. ๐ And patience! That’s my favorite “ingredient” lol. *cheers*
I am stuck at 183.4. Hopefully the scale will move soon. However, I went shopping this morning and bought pants size 12 petit. I wore an 18- 20 Women’s size when I started back in September. Hope you feel better soon.
That’s a GREAT “nsv” (non scale victory)! Sometimes the scales can be tricky, and not the best indicator. Just keep eating and being healthy, and letting those sizes drop. ๐ *cheers*
Hi
On My Fitness Pal do I need to just pay attention to the Macros page or should I stick to the “goal” grams on the nutrients page? I’m at 70/25/5 and am staying within those percentages. I do however go over and under my carbohydrates “goal grams” and my protein “goals” and fat “goals”. If my daily goal on the nutrient page says my fat grams should be 102…do I need to stay under that number or just be concerned with the macro page where it shows percentages?
Great question Joy! The answer: Ignore the “goals”. Just do 20 net carbs max, 70% fat minimum. Ignore everything else. ๐
You can’t go by grams, because some proteins are also healthy fats. This has a very simple explanation & illustration: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/7006/macronutrients/
My people have been falling out left and right with bronchitis, flu, and various allergy-related respiratory issues. I hope you’re on the mend, I’ve missed your posts. Take care!
Really worrying about you. Hope you’re feeling better.
Thank you all SO much for your kind words and well wishes – and your patience. ๐ I’m still sick, but definitely on the better side of it at least. I miss you all!! *hugs*
Lynn, I have been praying for you Honey. I am so sorry you have been going through this.
Kathy, Buttercup
Thank you, Kathy ๐ I do feel better this morning, for the first time in weeks – which has me feeling hopeful. ๐ *hugs*
