Join us for the Fall 2016 Low Carb Challenge!
Reminder: We have our weekly weigh-in tomorrow, on Monday morning! 🙂
We’ll also kick off the Exercise Mini-Challenge tomorrow: Monday, September 26th. It will run through October 29th, along with the end of the current Low Carb Challenge.
The challenge: to exercise daily, even if it’s just stretches or tricep dips some days! The goal is simple: to get in a routine of making exercise a HABIT.
Watch for my post here tomorrow. I’ll give you some great exercise ideas, and resources for fun FREE home workouts you’ll ENJOY. 🙂
I made BEAUTIFUL Low Carb Cookies Last night!
I finally got around to baking Good Dee’s Keto Cookies, and they are absolutely fabulous! They’re out of stock everywhere right now so you can’t order them, but I’ll keep you posted when they’re available again. Or you can get notified by Amazon.
I’ll share the details with you about the cookies (I have pictures!) 🙂 along with the other low carb foods I ate yesterday, and how I logged them…
Saturday’s Low Carb Meals
I woke up bright & early Saturday morning. Like 3:30am, lol. I made a quick low carb breakfast of sausage & fried eggs, which is one of my favorite EASY one skillet meals.
I had to run out for a quick errand, so I picked up lunch from Captain D’s – a little fast food seafood place. I got the grilled whitefish & shrimp (“no rice, no breadstick please!”) with double green beans as the sides:
I only ate one of the green bean sides so I still have another one left.
For dinner, I had my FAVORITE healthy low carb meal. 🙂 It’s 1/2 cup pecan pieces, 1/4 cup Daisy brand cottage cheese, 4 small diced strawberries & 17.5 grams of hand-picked blueberries. (6 net carbs and 85% healthy fat)
Then late last night… I made the cookies. 🙂
I made them exactly by the recipe, unlike the low carb brownies where I added extra ingredients. They came out MUCH LARGER than I expected. A batch makes 12 big cookies, at 2 net carbs each.
Use my refer-a-friend link for 10% off at Good Dee’s website, on either the cookies or the brownie mix. The cookie mix is not available right now, but you can get notified by Amazon when it’s back in stock. You can also get it cheaper on Amazon if you have Prime because you’ll get free shipping.
I mentioned they came out much larger than I expected. Here’s a picture of one of the chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven – after they cooled off of course. 🙂
Here’s the back side. As you can see, they have the PERFECT cookie texture.
They’re beautifully delicious. 🙂
In fact, I’m eating one for breakfast right now… lol. YUM!
I used coconut oil instead of butter in mine (you can make them either way) and I DO taste the coconut oil – so mine are more like coconut chocolate chip cookies.:) I think they would be GREAT with salted butter too.
Here’s My MyFitnessPal Diary for Saturday:

Do you use Keto Strips/Sticks to test for ketosis?
We were discussing this on Facebook last night, as I’ve never used keto testing kits myself. The feedback is that this is a GREAT deal, but the FlushFat Ketone Strips were the most recommended for best accuracy (and they’re cheaper too).
I apologize for teasing you with a product that isn’t even available right now!
I think I bought the last bag, lol. 😳
The low carb cookies are GREAT though. I also have two bags of the low carb brownie mix, so I’ll probably make those later this week. They’re my favorite. 🙂
How are things going for you?
How are you doing with your low carb meals & macro tracking? Any questions or struggles with your own weight loss journey? Leave a comment and let’s talk!
I hope you’re planning to join me in the Exercise Challenge for the next few weeks too. I’ll be posting here along with my daily food diaries and sharing my daily exercise with you, and you can reply with yours – so we can keep each other accountable to our fitness goals. 🙂
Best,
Lynn Terry,
aka @LowCarbTraveler
p.s. The next Keto Krate boxes are shipping right now, so if you’re already signed up (or if you sign up now) you’ll be getting a box full of FUN this week. 🙂
I’m excited to see what we get this time!

I ordered the brownies when they were last available on amazon and copied your additions of peanut butter and pecans so I could enjoy a treat on my birthday last weekend. I did not miss cake at all! The brownies were a delicious treat! I just ordered 3 packages on Dee’s site this morning to be sure I can enjoy an easy, delicious low carb treat during Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas! Mmmmm. So glad you shared this product in your posts. So much easier than buying all the ingredients I see on low carb dessert recipes and so oolong good!
Oops….and so darn good!
I agree, she really pegged that brownie mix! π Not only is it easier, but most recipes I’ve tried from around the web just have NOT turned out like the pictures – lol. That’s if I even have all of the ingredients (some of them are oddball sometimes, ha).
A late happy birthday to you!! π *cheers*
Hi Lynne! Yes, I’ll be joining you in the exercise challenge, especially since I got my first Fabletics outfit. I thought their regular prices were expensive but I got it for $11 with ebates on your offer and I’m afraid I’m going to be hooked. The fabric is really quality! Love the way it fits, too. I want that hooded dress they keep showing me but my mind keeps saying, EXERCISE CLOTHING, EXERCISE CLOTHING. LOLOL Hopefully, I’ll have even a small loss tomorrow but I don’t look for it anymore. Either way, I’ll be trying to make exercise a habit. I’ve been doing it for a while now but if I get out of it for a few days, I could be sunk. I’ve never liked it and probably never will. SIGH
I have the hooded dress in black, and I wore it last winter with sweater leggings. π It’s SO comfortable! It’s too big on me now of course, but it IS great!
Smart on you for using Ebates & the deal! I love LOVE the quality of their athletic wear and their dressier clothes. So pretty. π
I’m with you, it’s all about HABIT and just staying on it. But I DO enjoy it when I do it!! π
Hello there… I have shared before how well things are going and they still are…. I log my food everyday, I walk everyday….my weight hasn’t dropped in awhile but that’s OK… I keep on… However in the last few days I’ve been hungry all the time. My macros are fine…could it be that I am lacking something? Some nutrition? I would be very grateful for advice. I don’t want to get off track…not after having lost 30 pounds.
I have “hungry days” usually right before my scales move again. π Eat when you’re hungry, just make it super low carb foods. I find sausage & eggs fills me up well and is very low carb for example.
Thank you so much for that quick reply π
Hello :). I’ve been stalled all week at the same weight, but at least I’m not gaining. I love the idea of Exercise Challenge but I’ll give you an even bigger challenge :). I have Osteopenia and all my Doctors recommened “weight baring exercise”. so I need that, AND I’m a BC survivor, I’ve had a mastectomy (sorry if that’s TMI) and reconstruction so I can’t do push ups or anything where I’m front side down, ya know what I mean? So that’s an additional challenge :). But I need to exercise! So great idea!
I’m so glad I bought two packages of Brownie mix, I would love to try the choc chip cookies, they look great. I definitely have a sweet tooth, can’t get over it and NEED something sweet after a meal.
P.S. Meant to say, yes I’ve been so hungry lately :(. I don’t know why. Usually my appetite has diminished. But I still have a sweet tooth :(. Hoping the LC Brownies help.
My appetite comes and goes. As for craving sweets after a meal, I used to always do that before I went low carb. I remember keeping a small chocolate or something handy (even in my bag if going out to eat) just for that purpose. I wonder if that’s something to do with blood sugar levels, since on low carb I don’t experience that (because they don’t spike & drop now)… I’m honestly not sure.
It makes me wonder if you’re in ketosis. Any idea?
For exercise, what about things like Tricep Dips, arm weights, sit ups and leg lifts? Do you like walking? I love getting out when it’s cool enough. It’s crazy hot here today. π I think the best thing we can all do is find what works best for us and/or focus on the areas we most want to tone.
I’m ordering the brownies tonight. What other products are your favorites?
You’ll love the brownies! π
This is a great list: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/13419/netrition-low-carb-food-list/ My favorites are in bold – the things I’ve tried and LOVE.
I don’t think the sugar free honey is on that list, but it’s MUCH better than I expected: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/13861/honey-almond-biscuits/ A new favorite. π
Weight loss is slow but moving – 36 pounds since February. Two more pounds and I’ll no longer be “overweight” on the BMI charts – YAY! Bought a pair of size 10 skinny jeans (started out at size 16) from Macy’s thinking I might eventually get into them, but slipped them right on when they arrived in the mail – score! I just ordered 3 bags of the brownie mix and I had previously ordered a bag of the cookie mix but haven’t made it yet. I’m trying not to eat sweets and am saving it for a special occasion when others around me will be eating sweets and I will want something. But I’m getting antsy… must try soon. For exercise, my husband and I walk the local mall early before it opens. It’s been too hot here to walk outside. Besides, my husband needs a very flat surface as he has balance issues. And that way we can each walk at our own respective paces (I walk faster than he does) but I feel safe walking in that environment. We try to walk 5-6 days a week. I’m not currently doing any other type of exercises but I know I need to. It seems harder when you get to my age (65).
A 36 pound loss so far this year is amazing, Betsy π Congrats!! I felt SO good in a size 10 jeans, so I’m betting you do too.:) I’m looking forward to cooler weather JUST to wear jeans again actually!
There are lots of exercises you can do around the house. That’s what I love about the Tricep Dips – and they don’t require any equipment. I do them on the deck railing, with a dining room chair, you name it. π
This is my first day..unfortunately I am unable to do much exercise I have tried every conceivable diet known only to yo yo each time..Is coffee allowed?I am hoping that I can stick to this plan.
Welcome Anastasia!
Yes, coffee is fine – I drink a lot of coffee. π You’ll have to find a way to make it low carb and sugar free. I have used heavy whipping cream or half & half with splenda. Or they make flavored sugar free syrups in a variety of flavors.
Right now I’m using Coffee-Mate sugar free hazelnut powdered creamer. It’s only 1 carb per TBSP and much better than any of their other flavors too.
Here’s a getting started checklist: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/start-low-carb-diet/ Let me know if you have any questions!
