Saturday was a happy day, full of creative inspiration and good energy. I worked on some projects and just enjoyed the rainy/stormy day. 🙂
I also got an AWESOME workout in!
And I didn’t eat a single pecan. 😛
Here is my Low Carb Food Diary for Day 27 of the “Get Lean For Summer!” 90 Day Low Carb Challenge. It’s not too late to join us if you haven’t already!
Day 27: Saturday’s Low Carb Meals
I had a few errands to run in the morning, including groceries. I just picked up a few low carb staples to get me through the weekend.
I got: Coffee-Mate Sugar Free Hazelnut Powdered Creamer, Gevalia coffee, 4 bags of pecans 🙂 , bottled water, Daisy brand cottage cheese, frozen strawberries & blueberries, Philadelphia cream cheese, and Oscar Mayer Smokies.
While I was out, I picked up low carb take-out from a local “greasy spoon” that makes GREAT breakfast. I got grilled tenderloin & 3 fried eggs (1.2 carbs). YUM!
For lunch I finished my leftover take-out, which was grilled chicken and roasted broccoli & cauliflower. I love take-out and leftovers. 🙂
I had a nice long afternoon nap, and just kind of noshed & grazed the rest of the evening. Starting with a slice of Kraft Colby Jack Cheese off the block (.78 ounces, zero carbs)… because it was easy. 😛
I didn’t finish my plate of chicken & veggies earlier (at lunch), so I heated up the “leftover leftovers” (lol) and ate the rest of that. Then after my workout I was hungry again… and found the smokies I just bought.
I heated up two of those & dipped them in mustard.
And played with my food a bit. 🙂 lol…
To top off my fabulous day, I enjoyed a big saucer of raspberries & Philadelphia cream cheese for a treat. These frozen raspberries are so plump and sweet! I love a simple “real food” dessert like this… and it’s SO delicious.
Skipping my usual pecans for breakfast made it harder to meet my 70% fat goal for the day, but I still got close. I don’t stress over getting my macros or numbers exact, and I won’t eat something JUST to bump the numbers, but I do track as I go so I can get as close as I can.
Here’s My MyFitnessPal Diary for Saturday:
Macronutrients: How & What I Track
How I Get Net Carbs in MyFitnessPal
Calories: 1558
Net Carbs: 18
Total Carbs: 23
Protein: 115 Grams
63% Fat, 32% Protein
Exercise: Ab Carver Pro, 60 Reps
Plus: Focus T25 Fast Track Workout
FitBit Steps: 5,489
Water: 48 ounces
I didn’t FEEL like working out, but I forced myself to get up and get it done. Since it was storming, I did my Focus T25 home workout DVD. It’s a favorite. 🙂 Shaun T is so great to work out with!!
After that workout I did 60 reps on my Ab Carver Pro, 20 to the front and 20 to each side. I’m trying to use it daily, to really tone my core – which is the jiggliest part on me. 😛 I find it harder to work out at home so I’m really impressed I talked myself into that, lol. I prefer getting out and doing something fun for exercise, but in order to reach my goals I’m going to have to PUSH myself.
How’s your weekend going?
I look forward to hearing from you!

Does the ab carver pro help your arms any??
Lynn Terry says
Hi Holly 🙂
I can definitely feel it in my triceps, shoulders, and that fatty area under my arms – so yes. 🙂 In all the right places!
deb says
at the greasy spoon how do you really know the carb count?
Lynn Terry says
Hi Deb,
I know the carb count on the grilled tenderloin and fried eggs… because that’s all it is – meat & eggs. Eggs are .4 carbs each, so three eggs is 1.2 carbs. There are no carbs in tenderloin.
I used to work there when I was a teenager (as a cook) so it’s just meat on the griddle and eggs fried on the same griddle.
At a restaurant though, always order fried eggs. Scrambled eggs are iffy. They may add milk, or on buffets they often add some kind of batter to make & keep them fluffy.

Thanks
Lynn
asked because I don’t know if I would trust the “greasy spoons” in the world!!
Lynn Terry says
It really depends on what you order, Deb. I am careful to only order real / whole foods – like grilled meat and fried eggs for example. Anything else can be questionable.
I also look up nutrition facts online before I go out, and decide what I’m going to get before I get there. 🙂 That helps A LOT!

What? No Pecans? Lol. 🙂 i absolutely am hooked on that low carb cereal. 🙂
Sounds like you had a great day
I had a little bit of the cream cheese and strawberries yesterday. I used the whipped cream cheese. I like the texture of that one better as a desert.
I had a grilled chicken (bunless) from Wendys. I was not impressed”I would have rather had the chili but i resisted. :). I like the chicken club better from hardees
I did a lot of walking yesterday
I need to get a fit bit tracker to count my steps soon
I feel like i have been losing inches lately since i have been walking more
I had a pretty good low carb day….no cheats. 🙂
Lynn Terry says
Way to go, Gigi! 🙂 Every day that I eat healthy (low carb) and MOVE my body, is a total win – so you definitely had a WIN yesterday too!!
I love my fitbit. 🙂 🙂
I’m famished, talking about food – lol. Off to see what I can hunt down…
Gigi says
Thank you so much, Lyn for cheering me on!
That made my day! 🙂
Lynn Terry says
Ditto, Gigi – I always look forward to your comments! It’s fun to have friends to do this WITH. It would be entirely too hard to go it alone. 😉

I love those smokies!! They’re my favorite “hot dog”.
My saturday was pretty chill too…my hubby worked all day so I spent my entire day cleaning my house top to bottom (which doesn’t last long with 3 little boys running around), but it gave me a great workout.
My meals were:
B: bpc, 2 Egg omelet w /1 slice mozzarella, 2 slices turkey bacon
L: water (I was busy cleaning)
D: 3 sliders wwo bread (meat, 1/2 slice colby jack, mustard), wrapped in lettuce leaves
S: 2 pieces Russell stover chocolate
I had 9 net carbs and 80% fat. I also drank 80oz of water
Lynn Terry says
You’re so consistent, Justine. 🙂 I love that!
Weekends can be so nice. Even just cleaning house, or for me: working on creative projects (I work from home). I love downtime. 🙂
Justine says
☺ I’m really trying my hardest to stay consistent throughout this challenege. I think listing my meals everyday and contributing to posts from other members helps me feel more encouraged and accountable. I’m having a great time so far.
