In keeping on with my Low Carb Food Journal, I’ll have to catch you up real quick. I didn’t blog over the weekend because I spent a lot of time offline, unplugged, and hanging out with friends. Which included a fun party and a little alcohol, even.
I didn’t weigh this morning because I figured it was pointless given the alcohol stall that happens when you drink any kind of wine or alcohol – no matter how low carb it is.
My last weigh in was on Friday morning (161.2 pounds). Speaking of Friday, I was really crabby that day. That’s one of the side effects of Ketosis for me – it makes me edgy, and I have restless sleep too. Fortunately that passes quickly, lol.
For breakfast on Friday I had my usual coffee and snacked on Almonds & String Cheese. Lunch was another Hardee’s Low Carb Burger. (yes, again! it’s just so darn easy! lol) Friday night I ate meat & veggies (it was a slightly starchy meal though) and a couple of glasses of wine.
The wine I like is Berringer White Zinfandel, which is about one net carb per ounce. Two glasses comes to 8-10 carbs. Plus I can count on it stalling my weight loss for a few days.
Given that, and knowing I was going to a party on Saturday night, I decided to eat “super clean” (ie super low carb) this weekend otherwise.
I skipped breakfast on Saturday morning – which is never intentional, I’m just not a big morning eater. But I did have my usual coffee! Then for lunch I just had three hot dogs dipped in a mayo/mustard swirl, plus a string cheese. Quick & easy, my mission was just to “get fed” lol. I’m also trying to use up what’s in the house already. Which is another way of saying… I’m avoiding the grocery store like the plague. Heh.
Saturday night I went to a fun get-together where there was a huge spread and good drinks. Dinner consisted of party foods like hot wings, meatballs, cucumbers, cheeses, lil smokies, etc – plus a few beers. And there might have been some whiskey & moonshine involved.
Sunday started out with just coffee again. Then for lunch I snacked on Vienna Sausages with string cheese & almonds (snack foods). Dinner was about a dozen bone-in hot wings (leftovers from the party – yum!!).
I didn’t exercise on Friday or Saturday, but I had an intense one hour workout at the gym on Sunday night, which felt GREAT. And outside of my two higher carb meals on Friday night and Saturday night, I kept my foods to as low carb as humanly possible. Looking back it doesn’t seem like I ate that much (or enough) but I never got hungry. I figured I would eat again last night, but I think I was just too tired after that workout.
So it’s Monday morning now and I’m starting off with my usual coffee. My goal this week is to eat super low carb again, and to work out every single day. I expect the scales will move again tomorrow or the next morning, once the alcohol metabolizes.
What about you – how was your weekend?
