In my last post I promised to tell you about a new low carb product I found while here at the event in Atlanta.
It’s International Delight creamer, and specifically their two Sugar Free products: French Vanilla and Hazelnut creamers.
I use Nestle’s plain Coffee-Mate creamer at home, when I’m not using heavy whipping cream, along with Splenda to sweeten. But International Delight is one of the event sponsors, and had a coffee bar set up daily with a variety of flavored coffee creamers. And a delicious variety, at that! Including their new seasonal flavors.
I was really happy to see the two Sugar Free flavored coffee creamers, and checked them out. They are one carb per serving (tablespoon) and sweetened with very little corn syrup as well as Sucralose.
I did check Coffee-Mate’s website and they offer Sugar Free flavors as well. The sweetener ingredients are the same but they are 2 carbs per tablespoon – which is twice as much as International Delight. When you drink as much coffee as I do, double the carb count is a big deal. 😉 LOL…
I have to say, both the Sugar Free Hazelnut and Sugar Free French Vanilla creamers were really good. I totally enjoyed them this weekend at the coffee bar!
It’s always nice to find a product you really like when you’re eating low carb, especially a sweet treat like flavored coffees you can make at home. Have you tried the Sugar Free flavored coffee creamers, or how do you like your coffee?

Love my coffee! We are currently Coffee Mate users however after tasting International Delight’s this weekend, I could convert easily. Will have to work on Kev.
I tried the sugar free and fat free vanilla and tried one of the regular ones. I enjoyed them all.
My coffee now consists of a Keurig cup, 1 Truvia and 1 tbsp creamer.

I started drinking coffee as a young child — a little coffee in my glass of milk. It was during World War II and sugar was rationed, so my parents had stopped using sugar in coffee and I never started using it. After almost 70 years of drinking coffee without sweetener, even just a taste of sweetened coffee makes me feel sick.
My coffee is one large Keurig cup (just over 9 oz.) and one tablespoon of heavy whipping cream. My first cup of the day is regular coffee and any more that I have is decaffeinated because too much caffeine raises my blood pressure.

Hi Lynn! Unfortunately I do not drink coffee, but I do love my black tea especially an Earl Greyer. When it comes to serving up a great glass of tea for me it should have a crisp and strong flavor with a pleasant fragrance. So needless to say, I like my tea with no milk and or sweeteners.

I drink my coffee with just the heavy whipping cream. I find thaat by itself, the cream in sweet enough for me. The flavored creamers that I’ve tried have always left a bad after taste so I avoid them.

Since I started my second trip down the low carb road I have tried to find new ways to create all of my old favorites in hopes that I will never return to the traditional american diet again. with this in mind I thought I would share with everyone that easy remedy for your flavored coffee.
I buy a carton of half n half and have recently purchased sugar free flavored coffee suryups and then mix my own flavors to my liking. I currently mix the flavors and take a bottle of the creamer to work with me for coffee. My favorite at the moment is a mix of rasberry and chocolate suryups in my half n half. It ends up being the flavor of a nice latte with only about 1-1.5 carbs depending on how much half n half I use. plus I have found that the price works out to be the same or cheaper than the store bought creamers!
Kelly says
Hi Alison – how many parts of cream to the syrup do you use?

I especially love the Caramel Macchiato, Sugar-Free. I have a hard time finding it, but when I do I buy all I can. It has been wonderful for me a recently diagnosed Type 2 Diabetic. Thanks International Delight

I was looking at the ingredients of the fat free and sugar free International Delight creamer. There is 15 calories in 1 TBS. If this is fat free and sugar free, where are the calories coming from? Do you know what percentage water, corn syrup and palm oil there is in the creamer since these are the 3 main ingredients? I was concerned when they said fat free and sugar free and two of the three main ingredients are corn syrup and palm oil.

Hi John,
Great question! You may contact International Delights via social media and see if you can get answers. I don’t use anything “Fat Free” at all. And I don’t count calories.
I’m also currently working away from artificial sweeteners altogether…

I love the hazelnut and caramel macchiato sugar free products. However, I can no longer find them anywhere!! Everything is fat free and sugar free. These are horrible! Why couldn’t International Delights leave a good thing alone?

I have used Vanilla International Delight sugar free creamer for years as a diabetic. They added “fat free” to it and I have tried 2 32 oz creamers and it is just awful – no body, no “creamy” taste. I tried another sugar free but still no good. Guess I will try making my own.

Hi Catherine! I really like Coffeemate Sugar Free Hazelnut. I use the powdered creamer – it’s convenient when I’m traveling or to take on the go with me. It’s very tasty and creamy. π
Otherwise I use heavy whipping cream and sugar free syrups. They come in a lot of flavors. French vanilla is my favorite.

I live in Newnan, Georgia and have been using International Delight Sugar Free French Vanilla creamer for years. As of a couple weeks ago, it is no longer available at any of the stores in my area. You can get the Sugar Free/Fat Free which is not as good. Why and where can you get the sugar free only or have you stopped making it available?????
Lynn Terry says
Hi Fran,
Have you tried tweeting them to see if they can tell you? They’ll usually respond quickest on Twitter. π

I contacted International Delight via email today and they emailed me back and said they are no longer producing their sugar free line – they went to fat free / sugar free. I hate the fat free / sugar free version – I think it tastes awful and am so disappointed – I LOVED the sugar free french vanilla. Try writing them – maybe if they get enough complaints they’ll bring it back. I now need to search for a replacement (hopefully I can find one half as good).
Lynn Terry says
That’s unfortunate, Pega!
Try the sugar free Coffeemate hazelnut – or other flavors. I get it powdered and LOVE it, especially because I can take it on the go with me anywhere I’m traveling (or just if I want to stop at McD’s for a coffee and add my own low carb creamer / sweetener). It doesn’t need ANY sweetener, it tastes delicious!

Shame on International delight for not making the sugar free creamer no more
I tried the sugar free and fat free and the taste is awful
Patrick says
International Delights ought to be ashamed of themselves. Yes it is sugar free, but second ingredient is corn syrup!!! A high fructose syrup!!!…..treated by the body just a pure cane sugar!
This could be very dangerous to some!!!
Not cool!!!
