The night I arrived here at the Hotel W I had the most fabulous spinach & goat cheese omelet, which I was happily surprised to find on the dinner menu.
The meal options are very limited here. Their main restaurant is under renovations, and the sidewalks and streets around the entire hotel are also under construction – making it difficult to get out for meal.
So we basically have the same menu for the small on-site restaurant or for room service.
I skipped breakfast Thursday morning (geez, this is becoming a bad habit! lol – I’ve just been busy the last few mornings) so I went for an early lunch in the Hotel W restaurant, and had the most fabulous grilled chicken caesar salad:
Absolutely delicious! I just about cleaned that plate. 😉 Fortunately, many of the meals here at the Savvy Blogging Summit are catered or included at off-site locations. Thursday night they fed us a beautiful meal during the opening Keynote presentation:
Um, yes, that is gorgeous juicy chicken breast is lying on a bed of mashed potatoes. 😐 Considering the only thing I’d had to eat the entire day was a caesar salad, and options for the rest of the evening were seriously limited… I decided to just eat what was on my plate. I did look up the approximate carb count on my mobile phone first though, lol. I just had to know! It wasn’t so bad, somewhere around 20 to 30 net carbs. Given I hadn’t had anywhere near my limit for the day… not a big deal.
I did skip dessert though. 😉
I had a Hershey’s sugar free chocolate caramel mini candy bar in my bag, and I ate the half strawberry that garnished the three-layer mousse topped with delicate white chocolate shavings. Had they been serving cheesecake for dessert, I think I would have skipped the potatoes and opted for the cheesecake, LOL. Not the case, so potatoes it was!
On Friday morning we were meant to meet at The Corner Bakery for breakfast, but I decided to snack on almonds & mixed nuts – with a coffee and a bottled water:
Lunch was another catered meal which was a buffet of carbs, carbs and more carbs! I skipped the soup (unsure of the ingredients), passed by the pasta and potato salad, and ended up with a garden salad and a variety of sandwiches. There was roast beef, italian sub, and a grilled veggie sandwich even:
I simply removed all of the bread and ate a plate full of meat, cheese and salad – with a glass of unsweet tea to drink. It made for a delicious midday meal!
And here’s a picture of all the carbs I did NOT eat:
Dinner will be provided by the event again tonight. At Maggiano’s Little Italy Italian Restaurant, no less. 😉 As tempting as some of the food options are at restaurants and catered events, I’m still highly motivated to stick to low carb eating so I can see a drop on the scales Monday morning.
Oh, and I discovered a new low carb sugar-free product that I really like while here too! I’ll tell you all about it in my next post…

Great post Lynn and good job of dodging the carbs! You did a much better job than me this weekend in San Francisco, but I knew I was going misbehave. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the frozen creamed spinach idea from another post. Took a bag to the condo at the beach I was just visiting, it was goooood! Bought 3 more on my way home to have around. (yes, I ate the whole bag but not so high in carbs). Thanks for these ideas!

It’s delicious, isn’t it? It will be one of the first things I grab from the store now that I’m back from my trip and eating at home again. π Here’s the link for anyone that missed it: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/3282/birds-eye-creamed-spinach/ Definitely going to be a staple at my house from now on!

Good job and proud of you Lynn! Wow everything looked awesome. π
I have not started on low carb yet, however, I will.
I’m going to try a Weight Watcher’s breakfast in the morning. It’s french toast with wheat bread. I will be sharing it on my blog with the full recipe and photo. π
Thanks for sharing this post!

I have never tried Weight Watchers. Do you like the program? I really enjoy eating Low Carb because there are SO many meal options. Especially given how much fast food, take out, restaurant meals & room service I consume, LOL… π
