Happy Monday! 🙂 It’s Day 43 of the Spring Low Carb Challenge, and we weigh in every Monday morning.
If you’re participating in the low carb challenge Facebook group, you’ll find today’s Six Week Weigh-In thread here.
My current weight is 147.8 pounds, for a total of 6.8 pounds lost in the last six weeks.
I was at 8 pounds lost, but my scales bounced up after my silly cheat day experiment last week. 😛 I’m okay with that. My scales are moving nicely this week after getting right back to eating clean & healthy!
My weight loss is slow at this point, or slower than I normally lose I should say, because I’m much closer to my ideal weight. My big goal during this challenge is to lose the last of this jiggly body fat – and to tone up and gain muscle weight. 🙂
Here is my Low Carb Food Diary for Day 42 of the “Get Lean For Summer!” 90 Day Low Carb Challenge. It’s not too late to join us if you haven’t already!
Day 42: Sunday’s Low Carb Meals
I had my favorite “Sunday Morning Low Carb Breakfast” of sausage & fried eggs yesterday. Eggs are .4 carbs each, for a total of .8 carbs (less than one) – so this meal is generally considered Zero Carb.
For lunch I made a delicious batch of Low Carb Crepes with blueberries & pecans. 🙂 That was such a nice treat!!
I had sausage leftover from breakfast, and two crepes leftover from lunch, so for dinner… I made a “blueberry pecan crepe sausage sandwich.” That was fabulous! 🙂
Here’s My MyFitnessPal Diary for Sunday:
Tracking Macronutrients (Simple Explanation of Macros)
How To Get Net Carbs in MyFitnessPal
Calories: 1842
Net Carbs: 15
Total Carbs: 22
Protein: 85 Grams
83% Fat, 14% Protein
Exercise: None (rest day)
FitBit Steps: 2,419
Water: 48 ounces
I had good intentions to exercise yesterday, but it didn’t happen. I find I still really have to talk myself into my workouts, meaning: force the habit, so this week is all about doing just that! It was good to give my body a rest over the weekend though, as I really pushed myself hard last week. 🙂
I’m off to grab a shower and decide between a walk and a hike this morning. It has really cooled off here in Tennessee, which will make for a great day to get in some serious steps!
I’m very happy with my weight loss so far during this challenge, and excited to see the scales moving consistently – in the right direction (lol).
How are things going with you?
Did you weigh-in today??
I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Lynn!!
I wanted to tell you how much your daily blogs inspire me! I totally love your recipes and daily menus. I love love the cottage cheese , strawberry and pecan breakfast , I too start my day with that !! I started this woe mid march , I’ve lost 31 lbs! I have stalled a few weeks so I just don’t weigh in every week. Thank you for your stories and good job on your weight loss also, I pray I get as low(weight wise) as you one day !!

Thank you Lanora π π That makes my day!! Congrats on your weight loss. 31 pounds in 2 short months is GREAT! It’s very common to go through weeks of little to no loss, or fluctuations. I go through that too. The key is to just power through and keep doing what’s obviously working. π

Mmmmm. Those crepes look fantastic. I weighed in this morning and to my surprise I only gained 1.4 pounds so that’s not completely awful considering the massive carb filled drink I had yesterday.
I still have about 18 pounds I want to lose before this challenge is over. So, my goal right now is to cut out all sugary snacking until I lose another 10 pounds. That means no LC fudge, LC pecan bars and no sf candy….ugh it’ll be hard especially at night when I crave something sweet. Instead I’m going to only allow myself a sf jello with whipped cream at night and I think I might even switch up my bpc from morning to evening. I think doing this will cure my sweet cravings at night. Well at least I’m hoping it will. I’m going to keep my carbs as low as possible and try to keep my cheese down (cause I could eat cheese alllllll day) lol. I’m hoping with these switches I’ll really start to see my scale moving again…and fast.
Exercising has also lacked somewhat throughout this challenege so I’m also planning on walking 3-4 miles 3 days a week and adding some strength training 2 days. I’m leaving the weekends free because I usually get some exercise in these days with baseball games, walking at theme parks and my usual running after babies lol. Fingers crossed that it all works out!! Good luck everyone.

It’s probably like me – water weight. It came right back off. π Yours will too! My advice: Try chicken broth at night instead. I find it really satisfies cravings, even sweet cravings! It’s so savory. Get the Campbell’s canned broth like you cook with, and mix it with 3/4 can of water (instead of 1-to-1). It’s 1 carb per cup, and such a nice way to end the day!
You might try one week without BPC, and eating a low to zero carb breakfast in place of that – like sausage & eggs, etc. Then do the broth at night. Just for a week, to see if makes a difference. π

I think you’re absolutely right. I was actually just thinking of not having the bpc for a week. I also started having my usual breakfast again this morning as well. I have a can of Campbell’s chicken broth in my cabinet right now and will definitely have that tomorrow night. βΊ great minds think alot.

I can’t wait to hear how it goes! π

Today marks 1 week since I started the challenge. I weighed in at 161 last Monday and today 157.
Lynn Terry says
Awesome, Lidjea! I’m so glad you joined us. π Way to go on a successful first week!!
Kris says
Today was 151.8… 7 pounds lost in 6 weeks but I can wear clothes I couldn’t wear a year ago when I weighed less and clothes I bought 4 weeks ago are loose… weight on a scale is just a number…
Lynn Terry says
I’m experiencing the same thing, Kris – about the same amount of weight lost, but clothes are falling off of me, belt has to go tighter, it’s shocking! Did you take measurements too?? I usually do, but didn’t at the beginning of this challenge – so my measurements are a little older. I need to take new ones. π

I lost another half pound this morning. I’m seeing a pattern in my MFP tracking — that if I stay at or under 1200 calories, the scale goes down the next morning. I looked back at days where my calories were 1300-1500 for a few days (too many Atkins snacks) and that’s when I wasn’t losing at all. So I’m going to finish out the second half of the challenge strong and at the lower end of the calorie range, with maybe a day a week a little higher and see what happens. Tomorrow is oral surgery day so there won’t be much exercise for a few days, and only broth, blenderized soups and soft foods for a while. Hopefully that will be reflected on the scale too!
Lynn Terry says
I would guess it’s the Atkins products and not the calories. π Just cut those out only for two weeks and ignore the calories for now, and see what happens. After you get over your dental recovery of course! Ack π
